Morning all. I’m ashamed to say that yesterday I reached a new low in idiocy. Mr. G and I frantically did our cleanup chores, drove out to the airport, waited for the plane and for all passengers to disembark and then panicked because our son did NOT arrive. We went to the American Air Lines desk and asked frantically if there was anything they could find out since son had a connecting flight that might have been late getting in, causing him to miss the plane. The woman at the desk confirmed that our son had a reservation and then she looked at us and said-for tomorrow. Can’t tell you how embarrassed, foolish, frustrated I felt. We thanked her profusely for her help and then drove back home feeling like complete morons. So this morning, we do it all over again-rush around, drive to the airport and wait again. Meantime the birthday cake I had for yesterday is sitting on the counter getting stale. My mother used to say, “And life’s a funny proposition, after all.” She’s probably rolling her eyes at me somewhere in heaven.,
Oh my gosh! But the good part of the story is how very excited and anxious you are to see your son.
Don’t worry about the cake. It will taste even better today.

Moral of the story: You set a trap for PBO - you (and not he) will fall in it.
Another takeaway is learn to count. If you have a small fraction of your caucus giving you grief then at some point you should be able to figure out that you have the votes to do whatever you want. I never saw a man so afraid of small dog more than Boehner.
