The Democrats, on the other, hand have only six debates scheduled in this period and only one in weekday primetime so far. Two of those are with PBS and Univision, limited television networks with smaller reach. Left unchecked, the superior RNC schedule could easily reach 50 to 100 million more eyeballs than the current Democratic schedule—meaning tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars of lost opportunities to persuade, engage and excite the audiences all Democrats will need to win in 2016. But the cost is so far beyond dollars and minds: the debate schedule could affect who wins the Presidency, the Senate and scores of other races across the country.

It is not easy to understand the DNC strategy (or lack thereof) on having Debates and the debate schedule.
Only 6 debates. Most on weekends and on Holiday weekends.
No publicity whatsoever.
The DNC preferred candidate has had no large scale events. The (I) candidate has had many. Despite our wish to believe otherwise these events have been livestreamed and their attendance verified by the municipalities in which the events occurred.
The DNC Leader has advised us to watch the RNC debates.
VP Biden has declined to participate in the first debate in 7 days.
Several months ago I wrote here at TOD, mostly in jest, that VPOTUS’ strategy might be to wait until after the first (D) Debate.
Then when the viewership is low, he has an obvious reason to enter the race.
The GOP had close to 50 million viewers watching The Donald Show in their first two debates.
How many will tune in to see Hillary, Bernie, Martin?
My guess is less than 3 million but I sure hope I am wrong.

But I thought the entries for consideration had to be submitted this past February. I don’t think that Kerry and Zarif are in the running since the work didn’t get done on the Iran Deal until later this year but I would think that they would be a shoo-in for next year.
I think the order should be switched - but of course I have my own bias in this matter. I still do believe the Iran deal has a greater global impact than the situation in Ukraine.

Says my goddaughter the surgeon - any idiot with mechanical skill can be a surgeon and some of the stupidest people she knows are surgeons. It’s not human to them, it’s just technical. She took some time weighing offers when she finished her residency because she refused to be that kind of doctor. And she is uber-smart in absolutely everything, politics included.
She’s made a moderate out of her husband who comes from a Limbaugh-watching PBO Derangement Syndrome Oklahoma family. I’m pretty proud of him - he’s come a long way. But she wouldn’t have married him if he couldn’t see the forest for the trees. He is a 2nd Amendment supporter but hugely in favor of sensible gun control. He thinks the GOP has gone insane. He still identifies as conservative, but I can have a conversation with him.

I JUST tried to contact Thom Hartman. His comment line was full. I am going to keep trying until I can leave a message. Immediately when I got in my car (shortly after noon), he was ranting about the TPP, giving ‘his’ specific examples and kept using the word “know”……he “knows” what this agreement is going to do and that is absolutely ship American jobs overseas……blah, blah, blah. I wanted to scream that the details haven’t been released so how do you “know” exaactly what is in it?!?!?!?! That is what I will leave on the comment line. Geez……..these people make me so d— angry!

I want to highlight something I just heard from Josh Earnest in the DPB.
President Obama will be going to Oregon on Friday to meet with the families of those involved in the mass gun assault. There will be no public event.
This info makes me feel a LOT more at ease with his trip given the vitriol expressed by some of the locals.
