Thanks, dudette. I love this photo. A friend of mine worked with a young Latino man for months to ready him for his citizenship test, which he passed, and then she went with him on his big day. She said his joy on becoming a citizen was so overwhelming, they were both sobbing on the way home.

Boy I wish I could have had my naturalization ceremony at the White House. We became American citizens because the country elected President Obama. I’m so jealous!

It is hopeless how dumb and doomed this “strategy’ is.

Unless being POTUS is not your primary goal. If Beating up President Obama is what you are going for, then acting as if PBO has failed somehow and the country is broken, then this line of bs makes sense. The GOP gets the WH and they will destroy the Obama Legacy for you.

Sounds crazy?? OK. Then you tell me how an encore of 2010 and 2014 is intelligible.

EXactly. The criticism of Hillary and of Bernie Sanders is counterproductive. If you JOIN REPUBLICANS in saying that democratic Obama = BAD, if you FEED THIS NARRATIVE, you just give permission to people to vote for BIG CHANGE, and that means a republican in the White House.

Please help give President Obama some love and encouragement to counteract the boors prior to his Friday visit to Roseburg, OR. The haters don’t speak for the vast majority of Oregonians, but the are getting a lot of press.

Arghh. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen David Axelrod try to influence the discussion from the “outside,” and none has been pretty, so far. Nothing like a has been trying to interject. Oh, and, isn’t it against election rules for a candidate to influence a political action committee BEFORE he’s an actual candidate? If anybody can confirm that, I’ll tweet it to ol’ David next.

      October 7, 2025 at 1:25 pm

Not a direct reply but David Plouffe is working for Uber. Robert Gibbs is with McDonalds. Rahm is Mayor of Chicago and David Axelrod is speaking for CNN.
The Corporate World wants Hillary and Jeb! Old Obama hands have cleared off.
      I’m not giving up.
      Just adding data.

I’m with you on that “not giving up” part. Still annoys me. It’s kinda like “Et tu?” to all of them. Voters have long memories. We would never have heard of some of these folks, without their involvement in the Obama-Biden elections.

      October 7, 2025 at 1:28 pm

Yes, a SuperPac put out the ad, but unless VP is an actual candidate, he can have contact with the Pac.

Remember that Jeb ! did not announce early so he could work with Pac’s and raise money for them.

I tweeted my second thought, anyway, mostly because I was so miffed! And also I think most Draft Biden thingies say “not endorsed by any candidate.” Anyway, I’ll keep your info handy for next time — and there will be a next time, of course. Thanks.

I was under the impression that Super PACs didn’t ;) Coordinate with the Candidate.
      I don’t understand this criticism.

president obama’s “team” is not what won him two national elections in landslides - president obama is the person who inspired that movement. he already has and will continue to build new teams organized around the same ideals. plouffe, gibbs, axelrod, et al, while i’m grateful for their work with our president, they are still replaceable.

I remember that, prior to the election of Barack Obama, the conventional wisdom was that Democrats had to find a way to win Southern states in order to elect a president. That was a direct result of the Republican’s Southern Strategy and was confirmed by the fact that - after Ronald Reagan’s sweeping victory over Walter Mondale in 1984 - the only presidential success Democrats experienced was in electing Southern governors (Carter from Georgia and Clinton from Arkansas). The election of our first African American president from Illinois (and Hawaii) changed the map when it comes to presidential elections.

Sent my odious back-bencher of a rep (Paulsen-R-crazytown, MN) a love note urging him to support common sense gun control legislation. Even though I’m sure that my note will hit the shredder as soon as they bother to print it, it still felt good to write and let him know what time it is.

The vote on final passage of the NDAA is happening now in the Senate. Only a simple majority is needed.

POTUS says he will veto because it doesn’t end sequester cuts and contains restrictions about Gitmo.

First, I’m guessing there’s the pretense that President Obama really wasn’t duly elected twice to be President. So, of course, neither was his Vice President. I’m thinking lots of people will just hope that the Obama presidency just won’t be mentioned again.

Republicans are good at that, having barely mentioned the W pseudo-presidency, these last 7 years.

Pamela Jones tweet is the very question I have been asking myself. (Is this our Mighty Pamela?)
When and where was it written that Hillary is next?
On what basis is Vice President Biden being framed as a surprise, an interloper, a usurper, I don’t know what to call it.

This is not a Democratic decision. it is a Corporate decision and there is very little reason for us to pretend that it is ok.
