I can answer that question: because his ambitious ego is getting the best of him. If he believes that the end of days are near, he should be on his knees praying and not chasing occupancy in the Oval Office.

I think that’s one of the reasons that REpublicans are so hell bent on war w/ Iran; etc - because they WANT that whole “end of days” scenario. Which is exactly why we better never let them back in office. They are nuts.

I reckon that someone like this thinks he could actually BE President is proof the end of days is near. Like Don, I suggest we just get it over with, so new life can make its beginning.

Attention SoCal TOD family and Lurkers: (I got my ticket already)
Our talented and lovely Tally is performing…Drama After Dark returning to Huntington Gardens this Halloween
“The gardens and buildings around the Huntington Library provide numerous atmospheric settings, which help transport audiences into the worlds of Edgar Allan Poe and Edward Gorey; in fact, merely walking from one play to the next becomes a mysterious adventure, thanks to the minimal light (provided by candles) in the outdoor setting.

During the course of the evening, audience members will see up to six out of the ten or more performances, which are staged simultaneously at various sites throughout the grounds. Most performances are outdoors (chairs provided), and visitors need to walk quickly from location to location without getting lost in the dark if they want good seats.”

The event takes place on October 24, starting at 6:30pm The Huntington Library, Art Collection & Botanical Gardens are located at 1151 Oxford Road in San Marino. Tickets are $45 for Huntington members, $55 for non-members.

Not to mention PBO had many more opponents in the initial stages - most of whom were more qualified than BS - and they were democrats.

…and if PBO could run again - Bernie would be a dot in the sand - or the flea in the room.

    • 71 hopefruit2
      October 12, 2025 at 7:58 pm

LOL - these idiots know very little about trajectories. PBO got better and stronger as the race went on because he started from a position of relative obscurity and built his way up from scratch. Sanders on the other hand is a decades-long Senator, starting from a position of name recognition, $$$ from gun lobby, Libertarian groups, etc, and thus he has already reached his peak. He has spent the last 6 years going on cable TV and yapping about every this and the other - even proposing to primary PBO in 2012. The trajectory for Sanders is that he will get weaker, and then FIZZLE OUT at the most critical moment.

But the #Feelthebern Stans don’t understand trends…or they do, and they’re so obsessed with PBO that they feel they must compare everything that Sanders does to what PBO accomplished back in 2008.

    • 72 communikb
      October 12, 2025 at 8:00 pm

The constant PBO bashing is one of the primary reasons why a majority of Black people will never vote for Bernie. But, the BernieBots don’t seem to get that. A dem nominee cannot win without Black folks. Especially Black women. And everyone knows Black women feel very protective about PBO. I stated this fact on another so called liberal site and was surprised when they blocked me from ever commenting on the site again. The Bernie people have entered that scary territory where the teabaggers live. Liberal racists are fascinating.

Polls mean very little this early! Have the Bernie loyalists forgotten that Herman Cain was way up in
the polls? Actually, in some polls he was#1. But Cain never became the Republican nominnie. As far as I am concerned, Bernie Sanders is not a member of the Democratic Party. His enthusiastic supporters are primarily “Nedarites” and the so called progressive libertarians. I don’t think that the most loyal-and most dependable-base of the Democratic Party (and especially African Americans) is as enthused about Bernie Sanders as they eventually were about then Sen. Barack Obsma.

There is no questioning Biden’s experience to govern, his qualifications to be president, his bona fides on good government or his ability to advance the interest of everyday Americans from the White House. It may well be why Biden is the only candidate who crosses the 50% mark among all voters on all four areas polled: leadership, trust, experience and empathy. Not a single other candidate from either party earns a majority of voters’ confidence on all four.

oh I so hope he chooses to run. I got a robo call from a Pac for Hillary to night to attend a watch party tomorrow night in DC… but of course I can’t go.. nor honestly do I really want to. If Joe runs I will work for him like I did for POTUS.

I’m gonna be so pissed if any of the dem candidates trash or distance themselves from President Obama in the debates tomorrow.

Thanks PF for sharing this TPV piece. My question is why is Bernie Sanders identified as a Democrat? Did he officially join the Democratic Party when he decided to run for president? If that is the case, how come he still identifies himself as an independent in the Senate?

The tension around will he or won’t he is growing, that I’m sure about.
For the life of me I can’t understand how VP Biden’s right to do as he sees fit is somehow a transgression against the self-annointed rightful candidate.
He is the sitting and successful Vice President of the USA.

I could care less about what self-anointed media pundits say. The 2016 presidential election is still more than a year away. If I remember correctly, in 1968, Robert F. Kennedy did not enter the presidential race until March. And VP Humphray announced his candidacy even much later. Neither RFK or HH competed in Iowa or, much more importantly, New Hampshire. Yet VP Hubert Humphrey, who was supported by the base of the Democratic Party, ended up being
          the nominee.

That’s one of my earliest memories as a child, going with my mom to the polls during the Presidential election that year and watching her exit the polling place with a resigned and hopeless look on her face saying, “Well, I voted for Humphrey.”

My first political memory is of my aunt running through our front door screaming, “They killed him!” moments after RFK was assasinated. I was so young at the time, I don’t remember much else, but that moment Is burned into my memory.
