Good morning, Chips. I hope it goes smoothly at the vets. Usually the apprehension is hard, but the reality that Danny will be lovingly cared for is what you can hold on to. I get that you’re worried about him waking up, frightened, in a cage. May this day pass swiftly for both of you.

The Manhattan mistress of married “60 Minutes’’ newsman Steve Kroft sent him sexy lingerie photos during their affair, but he insisted she dress low-key — like “Laura Bush” — with him in public to keep things hush-hush, according to newly revealed texts.
A source close to Kroft’s lover told The Post that the TV hotshot was “really paranoid about right-wing zealots” finding out about their affair and using the tawdry details to try to destroy his career and CBS.
The sexts between Kroft and Lisan Goines — obtained exclusively by The Post — include a nude selfie of the lusty lawyer that she sent to her much-older lover. Other photos show her wearing a red thong and busting out of a black bra.
But “dress in Washington is Either professional or Laura Bush,” Kroft messaged his illicit squeeze in advance of their September 2011 play date at the Park Hyatt on 24th and M streets in DC.

GM, Allison, have yourself a happy Monday!

Truth is, IMO, all the proof we need of Kroft’s tawdriness was showcased in the character he displayed to the President. He can keep his sexts, his ‘hot water’, his Laura Bush, and his ignorance and go walk the Appalachian Trail. He simply cannot hold a candle to/for this president and in the scheme of things, IMO, he hardly matters beyond a face on camera.

Good Morning VC!! Kroft was very disrespectful towards President Obama. He should be ashamed of himself.

        • 28 vcprezofan2
          October 12, 2025 at 9:25 am

          Well now, a professional who was blatantly disrespectful to the president (any president really) is hardly likely to understand ‘being ashamed’ as we understand it. A fact to which his lifestyle may attest, (To be clear, I’m not knocking you) but he gave more than enough proof there on screen that he lacked class and values… and intelligence. {and that came out all tangled yet I’m going to leave it as is}

Allison, the link you posted has a date of Jan. 2013. Steve is trying to be a tough hitting interviewer, but this article is old news. PBO can hold his own with people like Steve and would not approve of sleezy articles to discredit anyone. I hope this doesn’t get a second wind. Not worthy.

That would explain why Kroft is now nastier when he interviews the President. His exposed loved life has humiliated him. He wants to redeem himself in front of the “right wing zealots” who could destroy his career.

It’s discouraging to me how so many people in the “politico-media” complex are driven by self-interest.

The ODS is very strong in the NY Times this morning. The “journalist” Amy Chozick who is a known anti-PBO puppet, has framed tomorrow’s (D) Debate as the Dem Party versus POTUS.
Amy writes that “On Tuesday night a new reality will become clear. IT IS NOT BARACK OBAMA’S Party anymore.”

The only reality attached to that bit of crap is that ending the Obama Era has been the single objective of one of the candidates and her husband. They have been waging a battle for the last 7 years to keep them as the rightful Democratic Party Leaders and The President is framed as an interloper.
Clearly, this is the same play being run against VP Biden now.
    ———————————————————————————————————-

Further on in today’s Times is another story speculating that the Obama family will be re-locating to California. That’s what they are hoping for. Even better would be Hawaii. Or Mars.

The Media and the GOP and the Emos are pretty much united in the effort to deny President Obama the credit he has earned and richly deserves.

And the part they WON’T mention:

In other words, the Republican Party’s sabotage efforts last winter worked exactly as they intended: By crippling the funding program, they effectively suffocated the Kentucky CO-OP, destroying a small business which was on it’s way towards profitability…if it had just been given a lifeline for one more year.

Result? Well, for one thing, all of their employees are presumably now out of a job. For another, around 51,000 Kentucky residents will be “kicked off their plan that they (presumably) like”, a sickening irony given all the “If you like your plan you can keep it” backlash President Obama received two years ago.

Anyway, those 51,000 people will have to shop around now. There are 3 other companies they can choose from: Anthem, Golden Rule and CareSource.

Prairie View councilman tased, arrested by police

A Prairie View city council member was arrested Thursday night after a confrontation with police that ended with him being tazed. Councilman Jonathan Miller had friends in town for homecoming weekend and they were hanging out outside his home.

    October 10, 2025

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas — A Prairie View city council member was arrested and tased outside his house Thursday night. He spent the night in jail and later had to be checked out at the hospital.

KHOU11 News spoke to Councilman Jonathan Miller when he got out of the hospital. He’s still processing all that happened.

“Do you think at any point you did anything that could be seen as resisting arrest?” KHOU 11 News reporter Alice Barr asked Miller.

“I don’t feel so,” Miller said. “Of course, everybody has a side to this story but I don’t feel so.”

Miller says he was hanging out with fraternity brothers at home, when three of them went outside to practice a step routine for homecoming. They say they were changing their shoes near one of their cars when police pulled up.

“She’s like, ‘What are you guys doing?’” said Miller’s friend Alaric Jones. “We’re like, ‘Nothing. Gonna practice some steps.’ And she said, ‘No it looks like you guys are doing some drug-related stuff because this is a high-drug area, high crime area also.’”

A Prairie View city council member was arrested and tazed outside his house Thursday night. He spent the night in jail and later had to be checked out at the hospital. (Photo: KHOU 11 NEWS)

Miller came out to check on his friends and police say he started interfering with their investigation. They said he wouldn’t back away or stop asking questions.

“The officers have a reasonable expectation to ask someone to step away from the scene, to give them a reasonable safety zone to conduct the investigation, and when they’re done, then they can address their concerns,” said Prairie View Police Chief Larry Johnson.

“It went from me asking questions, to me basically being put face down on the ground,” Miller said. I’m curious to have a conversation with those officers.”

Once Miller was on the ground, police say he wrestled with the male officer.

“That’s not true. That’s not true,” said Miller’s friend Brandon Wilson. “The only wrestling was when he [the officer] slammed him on the ground. He got him on the ground so easily, he’s only 130 pounds.

    http://www.rawstory.com/2015/10/dallas-cowboys-fans-urge-gunman-to-shoot-helpless-man-in-the-head-during-tailgating-brawl-and-he-does/

The man who shot another man in the head after a Dallas Cowboys football game was reportedly egged on by the crowd of people watching the fight.

The New York Daily News reported that the shooting took place at AT&T stadium in Arlington about an hour after the New England Patriots beat the Dallas Cowboys 30-6.

Witnesses reported that the two men got into an argument, which escalated to a fistfight. Then, as the gunman held his weapon to the head of the victim, the crowd urged him to shoot, which he did.

Paramedics and police were called to the scene and the unnamed victim, a male in his early 40s, was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The shooter was apprehended by police after he tripped over a low retaining wall and injured his leg while trying to flee the scene.

“I didn’t think he was going to pull the trigger,” said witness Leslie Williams to the Dallas Star-Telegram.

Most consumer debt goes away in bankruptcy, which was designed to give Americans and companies a fresh start. But in the 1970s, Congress added new rules to the law that excluded most student debt from that relief. Anyone aiming to discharge student debt in bankruptcy must prove that repaying it would constitute an “undue hardship.” Lawmakers never defined an undue hardship, though, so it has been left to the courts to decide just how destitute someone needs to be in order to qualify for relief.

    lol….hahaha……..

A freshman Republican senator told Politico he wanted to see former Vice President Dick Cheney to be the next speaker of the House.

Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AK), an Iraq war veteran and a hawk on foreign policy, endorsed Cheney as Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), the current top contender to replace Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), continues to show reluctance at the idea of running.

“Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AK), an Iraq war veteran and a hawk on foreign policy”

Boy, these people sure are good at writing pretty résumé statements, if nothing else! Cotton is such a fp ‘hawk’, behind the back of his own elected leader, he’s writing letters to the leaders of a country he thinks of as an enemy country. What a misuse of words!

But Mr. Ryan has been very good at gaming the system, at producing glossy documents that look sophisticated if you don’t understand the issues, at creating the false impression that his plans have been vetted by budget experts. This has been enough to convince political writers who don’t know much about policy, but do know what they want to see, that he’s the real deal. (A number of reporters are deeply impressed by the fact that he uses PowerPoint.) He is to fiscal policy what Carly Fiorina was to corporate management: brilliant at self-promotion, hopeless at actually doing the job. But his act has been good enough for media work.

Conflict is “development in reverse” and a key factor that is leaving almost 800 million without enough food, the 2015 Global Hunger Index has concluded.

Many of the 52 nations where the situation is serious or alarming are predominately ones experiencing civil unrest, the annual assessment says.

However, hunger in developing countries has fallen by 27% since 2000, it added.

The International Food Policy Research Institute, Concern Worldwide, and Welthungerhilfe compiled the index.

The 2015 Global Hunger Index (GHI) listed three African nations as the ones with the highest levels of severe hunger: Central African Republic, Chad and Zambia.

“It is perhaps not surprising that the first two of these three countries have been plagued with high hunger levels, given the violent conflict and instability their people face,” the authors wrote.

A number of nations were not included in the latest assessment - such as South Sudan, DR Congo and Syria - because it was not possible to gather reliable data. However, it was known that the population in these countries were widely experiencing hunger and malnutrition.

A grand jury in Douglas County, Georgia handed down indictments for 15 members of a pro-Confederate flag group that crashed a black child’s birthday party and harassed attendees in July.

According to Atlanta’s Fox 5 News, Douglas County District Attorney Brian Fortner announced the indictments on Monday against members of a pro-Confederate organization called Respect the Flag.

Fortner said the men of Respect the Flag outfitted their vehicles with oversized Confederate flags and drove around the community. The group entered a predominantly black neighborhood and pulled up to a house where residents were celebrating a child’s birthday. The men harassed and threatened the guests, saying they would “kill y’all ni**ers.”

A party attendee caught portions of the melee on video and posted it to Facebook. The Douglasville Police Department and the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office worked together to investigate the incident and on Friday, the grand jury handed down the indictments.

If I had half a brain I’d create a blog and call myself “Don the Black Republican”. My shtick would be to tell it like it is which would consist of me saying of the most anti-intellectual and anti- African American speech I could think of. Which I could then market to Republicans rich and poor alike. I could make two to three million dollars a year on t-shirts and coffee mugs and the occasional newsletter.

Early voting has risen significantly this year in Canada ahead of the 19 October elections, with nearly 1.6 million people casting ballots so far.

Voting numbers show a 34% increase from advance polling in the 2011 election, according to Elections Canada.

Long lines at polling stations included people dressed up in costumes to make political statements.

Voters are allowed to wear costumes and masks as long as they take an oath and provide identification.

Some voters wore costumes and masks to protest the proposed Conservative law banning wearing niqabs during citizenship ceremonies.

The number of people who came out to vote exceeded predictions.

Good Day TOD ~ Chips I hope all is well with our Danny :)

My new addition- Cookie, went to the vet today.. she owns us now, as she is costing a pretty penny to ‘save’. We thought she still had a fetus, but xrays were clear… still has high fever but on antibiotics now and today is eating on her own after “force feeding” with dropper all night. She only weighs 5 pounds! And is about 8 months old, poor little thing has had it tough. Oh and my finger is healing very nicely :)

You are such a remarkable person sherijr. So glad Cookie is going to be ok and is in a loving home. Glad your finger is healing well too. I captured, spayed, neutered, four kittens last week. They were returned and are doing well. I am hoping to capture the mama cat this week because I think they will soon be going into heat soon. I saw an orange un-neutered male in the area, most likely looking for her. I only have three to trap and release this week, which is a good thing.
