I agree with Vicki and the one thing I must say after watching this debate is that it was not the Obama-bashing session that the media had probably hoped for. If anything, just the opposite. And any time the candidates tried to say that they would differ from PBO, their words fell flat. The truth is, the voters WANT PBO’s third term.

Joe Biden has been in the “trenches” w/ PBO. Does he really want to be POTUS now? I think it’s not if he wants it enough, but whether the Dem candidates are stupid enough to lose the WH by running against PBO’s policies & angst/disrespect of PBO, as they’ve been doing for years. That will get his “goat” and jump in. Upthread someone said (AMK?) that Hillary’s performance was all about putting the breaks on Joe. Devious thought, but could be right on.
Here’s the thing. Now that HRC has pretty much aligned herself with PBO - she’s going to have to remain there for the rest of the campaign. Any deviation or attempt to shift will simply reinforce the perception that she’s not to be trusted and keeps changing her position for convenience sake.
Good point, HF. If she has her heart & mind in the right place, she should go in all the way and thereafter. The presidency, after all, is a tough, 4-year gig at least, not just the campaign. Get rid of her old hoo-hahs, surround herself with proper thinking people, not those sycophants she loves to use as a security blanket. She needs people around her who have the gumption to call her out when she’s wrong, and when she’s right. In other words she needs to find her brave soul, her moral core, and be true. Finding your moral core is a lifelong journey. It’s time for her to jump that line and believe and show us her core. Her expediency tank is going to run dry pretty soon, as in 2007-9. [Am waiting for VP Joey, still wishing!]

I just got the chance to listen to the speech FLOTUS gave earlier today, or yesterday, my lights went out just as she was about to speak earlier, so I finally got the chance to listen to her and it was worth the wait. It was one of her outstanding heart warming speech as only she can give. One from the heart, I respect and love this First Lady. She is such a role model for women and girls all over this world. And for me too.
I have been around too long to be swayed by a few words spoken on one night on which everyone knows the prize is The President Obama Coalition;
I will wait ………….. campaign season is a long time and 8 years of governing is even longer (a political life time);
what I seek=> say what you really mean and do what you promise to do, …. not as a way to get to the next stage but rather with some level of consistence.
I hear what you’re saying Linda. I know many were impressed with HRC’s performance last night. I too, thought she did quite well. But like you, I know that she was probably advised to talk up PBO in a way that would impress the PBO coalition and discourage a Biden run. So we’ll have to see what happens over the next few months.
