Monday October 19 has been declared “Adoption Day” by Iran and they say that the terms of the Deal’s implementation will begin then.

Janet Jackson Makes History With Seventh #1 Album
    Oct 12, 2025

Janet Jackson is no stranger to chart-topping success but it must be especially sweet with Unbreakable, her first release since 2008’s Discipline. The release is her 7th #1 album release but it comes with another distinction as well. Jackson is only the third artist to have a number one album release in three different decades.

    Billboard.com reports:

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new Oct. 24-dated chart (where Jackson is No. 1) will be posted in full to Billboard’s Web sites on Tuesday, Oct. 13.

Unbreakable — which was released on Oct. 2 — arrives atop the chart with 116,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Oct. 8, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, the set sold 109,000 in pure album sales.

f democracy becomes plutocracy, those who are not rich are effectively disenfranchised. Justice Louis Brandeis famously argued that the United States could have either democracy or wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, but not both. The political equality that is required by democracy is always under threat from economic inequality, and the more extreme the economic inequality, the greater the threat to democracy.

The very wealthy have little need for state-provided education or health care; they have every reason to support cuts in Medicare and to fight any increase in taxes. They have even less reason to support health insurance for everyone, or to worry about the low quality of public schools that plagues much of the country. They will oppose any regulation of banks that restricts profits, even if it helps those who cannot cover their mortgages or protects the public against predatory lending, deceptive advertising, or even a repetition of the financial crash.

To worry about these consequences of extreme inequality has nothing to do with being envious of the rich and everything to do with the fear that rapidly growing top incomes are a threat to the wellbeing of everyone else.

What we fight for….and what this Administration has been trying to say all along….

Chips, we have our three-year old granddaughter visiting with us for the whole week-daughter and SIL don’t arrive until the weekend-so I am 1000 percent occupied in keeping her entertained, safe, clean, fed and happy. My whole world is three-year old based right now-nothing else seems real. Oh and every night at about one am, we hear, “I want my mommy,” which takes at least an hour of soothing and assurances before anybody can sleep again.

        I saw that!

Good Morning Meta, I just read a story at the NY Times that now says it could be sometime in November before he decides. The suspense is killing me. I know that the media pushes stories just to keep speculation going. I also know that only VPJoe knows what will happen but I’m starting to look at the primary calendar. If he waits until late November how does he form an organization and ground game in a month to be competitive in Iowa? Do you think he plans to skip Iowa and NH and go straight for a win in SC? I wish I understood what the plan is.

        • 41 meta
          October 13, 2025 at 11:48 am

For me, reading this endless speculation by the DC press is excruciating. At first I of course read every word but now I’m really starting to question their motives and skip their idle speculation. Today they’re full of demeaning criticism because Joe hasn’t fulfilled their dire need for more of a Dem horserace and many of them are showing their clear bias for HRC.

Like everyone here, I wish I knew. All I can tell (my logical brain) is that he hasn’t said NO. That means that he’s still doing something behind the scenes, whether that’s mulling or preparing is the question. As PBO said, he’s saying to himself, “I could do a really good job.”

I don’t see that he has the time to make waves in Iowa or NH, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he skipped those but he has to have a good rationale for that for people in those states who would eventually support him. There are some deadlines he has to meet. Here are the filing dates by state:

          http://ballotpedia.org/Important_dates_in_the_2016_presidential_race#Federal_candidacy_registration

So we’re getting awfully close to the wire. And, like you, I wish we knew more.

In Gainesville, Ben Carson preaches return to God, war on the ‘PC police’
October 12, 2025 | Filed in: Ben Carson, Elections - President.

GAINESVILLE — Presidential hopeful Ben Carson told a packed Hall County megachurch this morning that he would bring God back to the forefront of American life, and he would go to war with the “PC police” to do it.

Georgia has looked a little like New Hampshire this weekend, with the two polling leaders for the Republican presidential nomination almost bumping into each other. Donald Trump staged a rally in Norcross on Saturday afternoon, then Carson signed copies of his new book up the road in Lawrenceville on Saturday evening.

This morning, Carson spoke to thousands at the Free Chapel in Gainesville and signed copies of A More Perfect Union, as part of a book tour not planned or staged by his campaign – but unmistakably part of his quest for the presidency:

“A lot of people have said to me: ‘Why are you willing to get into this fray when you had such a wonderful career and reputation and you were blessed financially and you could just sit back and relax?’

“Well, I’ll tell you why: it’s because America is worth saving. If that means getting into a war with the PC police, I’m ready to fight that war. And I hope you will join me.”

More Barbara Byrd-Bennett CPS Contracts Under Scrutiny

There are more questions about multimillion-dollar contracts Chicago Public Schools gave to firms that had previous associations with disgraced schools CEO Barbara Byrd-Bennett.

“Chicago Tonight” has learned of a probe into another contract where a firm with ties to Byrd-Bennett received CPS business. This as Byrd-Bennett is expected to plead guilty Tuesday to charges that she steered $23 million in CPS money to SUPES Academy and Synesi Associatesin exchange for bribes and kickbacks.

The arrangement in question: a $31 million contract to help CPS manage the controversial closing and consolidation of 50 schools that took place two years ago. It’s under scrutiny, “Chicago Tonight” has learned, because of ties between former CEO Barbara Byrd-Bennett and one of the companies that received that business.

A company called Global Workplace Solutions won the $30.9 million bid to help close the schools. The duties involved relocating records, removing contents, furnishings and equipment from the closed schools, and then securing the closed schools. A portion of the business was subcontracted to a company called The Robert Bobb Group, a company run by Robert Bobb, the former Emergency Financial Manager for Detroit Public Schools. Bobb hired Byrd-Bennett in Detroit in 2009 as Chief Academic Auditor and paid her a salary of $18,000 per month.

A document explains what his private company did during the CPS school closing deal, including “managing and processing the active business and financial records during the consolidation of the closed Chicago Public Schools” and “collecting, processing, sorting, batching, packing, annotating boxes … shipping student records.”

Actually I hope that the statement Bernie made about PBO being “naive” does come up tonight. I want his perspective debated.

Bernie has this notion that because all these people are turning out for this rallies that if he became President that they will remain as engaged as they are for his campaign and somehow these millions of people will put so much pressure on Congress that they will just have to bow to his wishes. PLEASE, PLEASE let this topic come up tonight. PBO formed OFA to do just this and we presented Congress with millions of signatures, made hundreds of calls to Congress and it didn’t move this determined to obstruct everything Obama Congress one iota. He is living in a fantasy world and I want the nation who tunes in tonight to see it for themselves. I sure hope someone else on that stage calls him out on this as well.

      From the article:
An awful lot of folks in the media are worried that tonight’s debate between the Democratic candidates will be boring because it will focus on the issues.
      ***********************************

I find it fascinating how the press thinks that a focus on issues is considered boring…the MSM is used to using sensationalism without substance…i hope that there are citizens tuning in who want that substance…however i think that CNN…will try its best to inject a lil sensationalism into the debate
