the approach taken to make the demands in this article is not different from the one major garrett used earlier to PBO’s face:

They NEVER stop - last time they screamed for him to bring Bergdahl home - and when he did - they screamed - he shouldn’t have brought Bergdahl home. And I feel so sorry for that young man getting so messed up in a gop military war and then a GOP racist hatefest.
The first instinct of an American “journalist” is to be contrarian rather than report the truth. That’s their business model.
jailing journalists based on false charges is totally wrong;
jailing any innocent person based on false charges is totally wrong;
but there is a pattern that is hard to miss: journalists may remain silent when the person in jail has no clout but almost ALL journalists will be vocal when it is one of them.
remember how the journalist demanded that PBO change the US long-standing way to deal with kidnappers? it was after fellow journalist were kidnapped not before ….. when ordinary people and aid workers were kidnapped;
I doubt that PBO and his team are just “passive” or “indifferent” about this particular journalist’s wrongful imprisonment. there is no way they could be.
may the media expects PBO to publicly rail against Iran every single moment because of this journalist’s fate. that is not how diplomacy operates
how do we know this journalist is actually innocent of all charges?

All the serious people in Washington know we have a debt problem. “Rapidly Growing Debt Threatens America’s Economic Future” blared a typical press release from Senate Budget Committee chairman Mike Enzi. “It is clear from [Congressional Budget Office] analysis that rapidly growing public sector debt threatens America’s economic future,” he said.
There’s just one problem. The numbers relied upon by Enzi and far too many others inside the Beltway, including the Congressional Budget Office itself, are completely bogus. The methodology used by the CBO to create these projections exaggerates the federal government’s long-term debt projection by as much as 440 percent, creating a phony fiscal crisis where none exists.
In reality, data provided to The Nation by Stephen Goss, chief actuary of the Social Security Administration, shows that starting in 2032 the federal government’s debt held by the public is on track to rapidly decline as a share of GDP, bottoming out at 40 percent. This is in stark contrast to the CBO’s sharply rising debt-to-GDP ratio, which peaks at 176 percent in 2090.
a little while ago, republicans forced out the guy who had been leading the c.b.o. for years (elmendorf or something like that, who was appointed by republicans originally), and i remember leaving a comment here that now we cannot trust anything coming out the c.b.o. for a while since they were clearly going to appoint a republican propagandist to the position. it’s the republican plan everywhere now. this is probably the beginning of the propaganda that will be coming from the c.b.o. until this new leader of the c.b.o. is kicked out and sanity is restored.

If only the CBO were nonpartisan, I think in the last midterms the Republicans vowed to take over the CBO. Now their methodology is all partisan driven.
yes, bernie clearly has some blind spots in regards to president obama and race relations and personality quirks, but i do feel some of the narratives that have been floating around him have been unfair:

i remember some moments when bernie enthusiastically helped president obama get some bills passed. he played a key role in getting the affordable care act passed. i’m not sure he’ll be able to win a national election, but i know for sure hillary cannot, so unless joe gets in or o’malley catches fire, i personally would vote for bernie over hillary in the primary if those are the only choices. her voting record is the usual clinton republican-lite nonsense that nearly destroyed the democratic party until president obama came along to revive it. we can’t go back to that.

President Obama and race relations, and that right there is why Bernie Sander’s crowds are 99.9999999% white. Personality quirks don’t concern me at all, but when Sanders speaks as though he knows what is best for black people then we have a problem. Sanders has repeatedly voted not to close Gitmo, socialist my ass. Sanders walks around preaching revolution but does not speak about how to achieve revolution. Sanders does not get into the weeds on policy, I can’t name a single policy that Bernie has ever explained in-depth while on the campaign trail. Sanders walks around saying elect me and we’re going to do do do, without explaining just how are we going to do do do.
