Thanks Nerdy for the informative and superbly entertaining tweet summary of the hearings, which I am just not in the mood to watch.
Was soooo bummed about VP Biden not running. I could only comment once yesterday. I felt under the weather too – sort of a vague, headachey, nauseous, general malaise. I think I was feeling the weight of the collective disappointment of so many like me who were hoping Joe would run (or maybe it was just a hormonal thing; I never know these days :-) )
Today I feel better, more upbeat. In a way, I think VP can support this administration even better if he’s not running. He and PBO can be a duo to be reckoned with even more than they have been. I’m pretty sure it will be an awesome “Lame Duck” season to come, with both our guys free of any political constraints and totally focused on moving us forward.
I noticed Martin O’Malley was on the Daily Show this week and Seth Meyer’s show as well, so I will watch those to get a better feel for him. I am hoping for a viable alternative to HRC. I will vote for her if she’s the nominee, but she doesn’t need my donation dollars. HRC, will be competent at least. Bernie, I fear would be a disaster, although I would vote for him, for Supreme Court appointments alone, if he were the nominee (but he won’t be).
There will never be another President Barack Obama. I am going to spend the next 15 months enjoying the hell out of this presidency, along with this wonderful VP at his side.
When VP Biden talked about a space race to cure cancer I was in tears. I had not thought about this possibility but having lost many loved ones to that scourge I began to realize, even if not running Joe Biden will help find the cure for cancer. Can’t beat that. Love you, Joe.
This kinda/sorta about Pres. Obama. . .
It’s a clip from our local newspaper and you can only see it if you have a subscription to the Gillette News Record. Jason Elam was in town yesterday for the grand-opening of Menards & the paper interviewed him. Here is just a small clip. Background; He was with the Denver Broncos many years as the kicker. The reason I thought it was relevant was because he went to the U of Hawaii.
Q:
Since your retirement, you’ve lived in Alaska, studied theology at the University of Oxford in England and made several trips to the Holy Land. How does a kid who grew up in Georgia end up going to all of the places you’ve been and experienced all of the things you’ve experienced?
A: Jason Elam
I just like adventure. I like different cultures and meeting new, different people. That’s always appealed to me. I think that’s goes with a lot of the things in the Middle East. I like going over there and meeting them, seeing how they live and learning about their culture and about their tradition. I think a lot of that was, probably, from Hawaii, to be honest with you. I had friends from all over the world on that team. It was just a big melting pot on the University of Hawaii football team. That just kind of rubbed off on me. I love it and, fortunately, I’ve been able to take my family, really, all over the world.
Great point madamesoph! Of course that would require things like research, facts, and thinking… the MSM will do none of those, too much like actual work!
My day started sad and it’s not getting much better. I haven’t even kept up with the hearing. I did notice a tweet about Cheryl Mills. Was she an attorney for Pres. Clinton? I remember the rethug hearings on Pres. Clinton after he resigned for one or more Pardons he gave out. They (republicans) have always been crazy.
Facebook won’t let me post Salon article about Church burnings direct from Salon. Anyone else have troubles on iPad after the update? The last Stonekettle Station post upset me. Evan made me made mad. Anyone else?
Whether GOP lawmakers realize it or not, they created a platform for the leading Democratic presidential candidate to speak before the nation and appear knowledgeable, articulate, compassionate, and competent. Simultaneously, the committee’s Republicans, who spent months preparing for today’s epic showdown, were hopelessly clueless and small.
Hi vc - are you all recovered from the long day at the polls? If it wasn’t for the winters I would be castigating my ancestors for immigrating to Australia rather than Canada
Sigh! I simply do not understand why so many TODobots are ‘afraid’ of a little, refreshing cold. Of course, May to September here are outside of the cold period so you could make your trip here *then*. :)
Our trip to the US was June-August many moons ago - I enjoyed that year - 2 summers, no winters.
I am much impressed by folks who can operate under inches of snow - with driving on ice and digging out paths - but I cannot imagine joining in with these pursuits.
I am one of those who loves the cold and the winter. I love all seasons. I always tell people to come in the summer. But the fall is my favorite time of the year.
Fall’s good. So’s spring, and summer is not too bad. Winter ….well winter is just winter, more bearable when it doesn’t start too, too early. I’m not sure I’d ever say that I love winter, but i know I’d miss it if it doesn’t show up. Truth is if there’s no winter then the other season lose their effectiveness (IMO). :D
I love your reasoning. I can honestly say I love the cold as much as the hot. I don’t like it all the time. That why I love the 4 seasons. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. We are heading out today for one last weekend of camping. We love the outdoors and have a small 5th wheel so we can stay warm at night.
Eric Cantor, your sorry wicked cruel political arse built this.
You, sir, will be a Footnote in Our History book fir having corrosively destroyed Congressional Governance.

Many beautiful photos on Instagram by Pete Souza. I pinned to President Obama if you don’t Instagram. Only way I know how to share Instagram photos. May have pinned to TOD also.
Good evening, Nerdy, Chips & TOD! Thanks Nerdy for putting up the video of our President’s excellent townhall! Now I can catch up on all the goodness I missed. :)
This will only push the meh-hillary voters into actively supporting her. Since it started, I have had a good sleep and cuppa and these corrupt clowns are still at it?
Sickening to see that so starkly presented and I think about that horrible day so often. It’s an utter disgrace to this country that the GOP has crushed any type of gun regulation. Such dishonor to the families of those little second graders.
If I have time tonight I’m watching an Elementary re-run. It is not looking good though.

POTUS!
Congrats on first, No Child!
Sorry I’m so Late congrats LCLB.
Here is my take….

WHY DIDN’T AMBASSADOR STEVENS HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR NOT-SECURE EMAIL ?
Did I get that right ?

Me too. 😢 You are spot on.
Thanks MadameSoph. You put into words what I’m feeling too. I don’t think my hormones are anything like yours. 🙂

Al-Jazerra just said ” Finally we have a picture of Sidney Blumenthal ”
One problem…they just put up a picture of Senator Richard Blumenthal !
Wow !
Very substantive discussion.
Thank you, President Obama.
Thank you, Mr. President!
And yes, this is what should be being covered today - not the Bengazi clown show.

GOP’s Benghazi Committee comes unglued

DON’T TAKE IT FOR GRANTED…OUR SICK SOCIETY VOTES FOR THE CLUELESS AND SMALL…AKA…DONALD TRUMP!
Remember when President Obama spoke in front of the Republicans and answered questions on their turf. Republicans never learn.
Was it Roskam who called Hillary a drama queen for showing compassion over the loss of these civil servants?
Effing sociopaths. Every last one of them.

Imagine expecting Trump to know anything about anything. Hilarious!
THE MEDIA WILL SPIN IT TO FAVOR THE REPUGNANTS!
I wish there was a picture!
I asked… and I was served!
:) for your comment - and the GOP - those who will fund defense over and above any other human endeavor - what will they do with this?
THANKS FOR THE EXPLANATION…:)
Todays bengazi debacle reminds me of this quote, which surely has come to be truth under PBO.
“When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.”
Jonathan Swift
THIS!
Had trouble remembering who Blumenthal was, wrote book, ‘The Permanent Campaign.’
Hi!
Hi vc - are you all recovered from the long day at the polls? If it wasn’t for the winters I would be castigating my ancestors for immigrating to Australia rather than Canada
Somehow I thought I’d answered you a minute ago……..
Sigh.
Short answer = No; but am looking forward to the weekend to see if I’ll feel better.
Re winter - Come on up; what’s a little cold/white stuff between friends? Plus after a while you kinda get used to it.
I won’t even go south of my state border between May and September - so despite your thoughts - I’ll wait for climate change to warm things up.
Sigh! I simply do not understand why so many TODobots are ‘afraid’ of a little, refreshing cold. Of course, May to September here are outside of the cold period so you could make your trip here *then*. :)

Tut-tut-tut, TS. You have no idea *what* you are missing! :D :D

Congrats NCLB on Au :star:
Benghazi hearing is unbelievable. I am at a loss as to the why of all this?
I started watching it this morning. I left for a bit, came back, left again and back now and they are still asking the same or similar questions.
We don’t know either. Well, I don’t know.
Mind numbing
The Republicans are a disgusting disgrace.
You are too kind to them. I have never seen anything like it.
Many beautiful photos on Instagram by Pete Souza. I pinned to President Obama if you don’t Instagram. Only way I know how to share Instagram photos. May have pinned to TOD also.
wtf??? is the shit show still going on?
Good evening, Nerdy, Chips & TOD! Thanks Nerdy for putting up the video of our President’s excellent townhall! Now I can catch up on all the goodness I missed. :)
Bo caught watching TV. “Not really”. Last week. 👻
Canadians are happy they’ve found their own “President Obama!” :) :)
:D
they are still testifying….how outrageous is this
This will only push the meh-hillary voters into actively supporting her. Since it started, I have had a good sleep and cuppa and these corrupt clowns are still at it?
No, I took a side-step at BaldHicker in Chennai, India.

We sound stupid don’t we amk?
LOL! She broke Biden? Uhm…all this HRC stanning on Twitter and elsewhere is nauseating me, quite frankly.
She was good sport on Jimmy Kimmel.Wish I could see her Live.
Have the Obama ladies been to see her perform?
Guess y’all in bed.
Does this work? No, I don’t know what I’m doing on my lMacbook Pro
