Aaaaaah Jackie, missed you too, my cherub! Refusing to even think about January 2017, but whatever we do we’ll still be TODing in some form or other, meeting up every morning, afternoon, evening and night :-) I was thinking maybe of turning it in to a cookery blog with daily culinary tips from me and possibly instructional videos on how to make some of my finer creations, like tasty hearty breakfasts?
Well, he’s still taking his anti-inflammatory medicine and so far so good, leaping around like a kangaroo - just worried about what’ll happen when he finishes it.
G’morning Chips, TOD, lurkers, even amk, and congrats Chips on #1! :) Happy Sunday everyone. I guess everyone is still sleeping, plus it’s dark on the East Coast due to rain. People are still thinking it’s nighttime, turning over in bed for another 2-hr sleep….
Hf, I was actually awake until you started putting me to sleep with the dark, rainy stuff. Yeah, it’s a gray, rainy day, but a lot of us did manage to crawl out of bed, get dressed and even have coffee.
If Dr. Ben Carson really believes that Medicare should go away I wished we would have said so to his employer John Hopkins Hospital at the time, I’m sure they would have embraced his vocal opposition towards Medicare. This guy is a complete asshole, only now after making millions from Medicare does he wish it to go away.
So what does the christian doctor suppose we do with the people who depends on Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security? Or they just don’t give a dam what happens to them.
AMK, I do tell people this and you know what the reaction is? “That’s not true!” “They don’t really mean it!” “It wouldn’t affect me!” These are actual quotes and it’s convinced me that people who want to believe something will simply close their minds, ears, eyes to the truth even if it hits them in the face.
One of the things that most irritates me about the endless presidential election cycles is that they push people to live in the future, instead of the present. Here we have the best president that we will ever have in our lifetimes and we’re thinking about the next one, rather than savoring the moments with the one we have. The Democratic meetings I attend drive me nuts with the endless speculation as if we all were living in a future, rather than a present tense. Voters in Pa don’t even have a chance to voice their opinion until May of 2016, so I’m resolving to set aside concerns about who comes next and focus on what is right now.
It irritates me as well, Jackie, I can’t even go on twitter without being bombarded with talk of the next election cycle. He have in our midst one of the truly great Presidents of our lifetime and we’re being told somehow that Hillary is the one we’ve been waiting for.
Even without the primaries there is still months of campaigning in the US - in the “not US” world - Canada just had the longest ever campaign of 12 weeks. Our last campaign was 4 weeks.
DES MOINES, Iowa — Likely Republican caucusgoers in Iowa can agree on one thing about this field of 15 presidential candidates: Donald Trump has a huuuuuge ego.
Better than three-quarters of respondents in the latest Des Moines Register/Bloomberg Politics Iowa Poll say Trump is the most ego-driven candidate in the race.
Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, meanwhile, is the most electable, the most presidential, the most pragmatic and the most trustworthy with his finger on the nuclear button — all characteristics befitting a candidate now leading the GOP horse race in Iowa.
But the news isn’t all bad for Trump, who fell to second in two polls of likely caucus attendees last week. The real estate mogul is still seen as the party’s best hope for bringing about real change, the Iowa Poll shows, and that may be the most important qualification for a Republican candidate in this period of political frustration and disaffection.
“Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, meanwhile, is the most electable, the most presidential, the most pragmatic and the most trustworthy with his finger on the nuclear button — all characteristics befitting a candidate now leading the GOP horse race in Iowa”.
Yeah, you want this guy in charge of the button, a guy itching for everyone to swim in the river Jordan.
Hey df! I’ve been around - just tied up with work-related stuff this past week. Anyway, I haven’t forgotten about the Halloween party. Will be posting the costumes in the next few days… :)
Video captured by a local TV reporter in Miami shows a man who disagrees with GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump’s immigration policies being violently ejected from a Trump campaign event. In the video, an unidentified white man wearing a red polo shirt is seen pulling another man identified as a protester by the back of his shirt. When the protester falls to the ground, the man in the polo shirt then drags him along the floor towards the room’s exit. Towards the end of the video, the polo-shirted man appears to kick the protester while the protester is still lying on the ground.
As this protester is being dragged out of the room, the crowd around him loudly chants “U-S-A! U-S-A!”
Trump was reportedly interrupted several times by protesters during his appearance at the Trump National Doral Miami resort. At one point, he appeared to endorse the use of violent tactics against these protesters. “See the first group, I was nice. Oh, take your time,” Trump said of the protesters. “The second group, I was pretty nice. The third group, I’ll be a little more violent. And the fourth group, I’ll say get the hell out of here!”
Not Presidential…represent ALL the people?? I think not.
There could be book written about “The Pope and the President” both men of their time coping with those who want to go back 100 years

Pope Francis warns bishops against turning people away who do not fit ‘scheduled faith’
So Tony Blair apologized for his part in Iraq war…shouldn’t his buddy and partner in crime, GWB, quit being a damn coward and do the same? Mind you, too little, too late…but he should acknowledge his gigantic fuckup…Oh, who am I kidding,,,they never own anything they do wrong!
Blair has yet to apologise for lying - to his country and the world. Mumbling that he was apologising “for the fact that the intelligence we received was wrong,” Suddenly the royal plural - like Blair wasn’t the only one mislead.
If Blair hadn’t supported Bush in such an open and 100% way, there would not have been an invasion of Iraq. Bush could not do it alone. Blair was a labor man - politician supposedly supporting the people, the anti Thatcher man - I can still remember my horror when he came out in support of GWB and the invasion of Iraq. Did not expect it at all.
But, you are right - he has back tracked more than GWB.
I know - I just keep thinking Blair had a brain (no sign of that in the Bush brothers) and he could have stopped it then and there. Guess he went for the political glory of war - well that sure backfired. Sigh
Don’t read the comments, though. They are disgusting and vile. So awful that there are so many out there who think the way they do toward their fellow americans.
wonder if joe biden really was contemplating running, or if he knew all along he wasn’t running and let the announcement linger to take the spotlight off the republican nut jobs and have people talk more about democrats. since democrats aren’t doing many debates and were losing the attention-getting game, i could see joe doing something such as this. whatever the case, he succeeded in giving the democratic primary a needed boost.
New GOP Model numbers out of Iowa and NH in a moment; yes, Donald Trump is no longer in the lead in a state…
— Cabpolitical (@CabPolitical) October 25, 2025
This is how the establishment will slowly start making the way for Jeb…I’m not worried about Ben Carson. He’s pandering with extremist rhetoric just to raise $$$ for himself, because he’s smart enough to know that he will NEVER be the GOP nominee, let alone President-elect 2016.
I am! Now I have to go out and run to the hardware store ( LOVE the hardware store!! For real!) and get some rye grass seed….so I can feed the birds:) Kidding.
A gazillion thanks to Nerdy for running the ship while I was away, LEGEND!!!
Hey, Chips, I’ve missed you. Haven’t wanted to think about what you’ll decide to do in January 2017. Sometimes change really stinks.
That does it. I quit on 19th Jan 2017.
Admit it, you’re salivating.
President Obama was right, grumpy cat.
ONLY YOUR LITTERBOX KNOWS!…………………………………
That’s an awesome idea, Chipsticks, you can turn TOD into a cooking/travel/fine living Blog.
Thanks for your support Don, good to know someone around here appreciates fine living.
don’t ya mean fine for living?
Oh, God, no, Chips, no, no, no. Do a Danny blog, or one on nature walks, but my stomach, already shaky, could not stand this.
And to think I regarded you as a friend……………
Chips, you are a friend of my heart, but my stomach can’t take it.
True friends offer all-encompassing love and respect from every organ.
Ha! I already cook like this Chips, need no guidance ;)
 We should make videos together sherijr - we might end up with our own TV show!!
oh sure- okie doke Chips :) :) I’m all in!
I would be happy to taste test your creations if it means TOD is still here - I have been just too skered to even think about Jan 2017
….. however - maybe we can have meta providing the cooking class & you can concentrate on “ruling the world”
You really must have an issue with my cooking when you want me to focus on ruling the world
Everyone to their expertise - My role as Speaker of the House will keep you in check. :)
no need to be coy, we can diss her dishes.
If you cook like me - probably not
what’s there to cooking ? pour some water, add some stuff, heat, voila, stuff happens.
 Sometimes you’re more Homer than Homer himself
go man
uc.If only
Spill some water, chop self instead of stuff, heat for too long - or too short - etc etc
Mr 99 is a long suffering taster - he keeps thinking it can only get better - or he doesn’t want to be the one doing the cooking. :)
it’s the later, always the later.
:)
did you make the poor boy do this? / smh
how is he? leg ok?
Well, he’s still taking his anti-inflammatory medicine and so far so good, leaping around like a kangaroo - just worried about what’ll happen when he finishes it.

I don’t get it.
Sweet, AMK. Nice to smile on a dull Sunday morning.
See Don?

your primary system is to blame.
Even without the primaries there is still months of campaigning in the US - in the “not US” world - Canada just had the longest ever campaign of 12 weeks. Our last campaign was 4 weeks.
Add this to the crazy talk about Medicare…. THEY are the death panels!!!!
Rubio, this guy can’t even drink a cup of water without almost drowning.
:)
Hey - ain’t that the truth :)
Is there an echo in here???
