    Great find and great tweet by POTUS. Thanks NW! I wish this incident made it to all of the news media outlets so it could be shown on this evenings newscast.

    And I agree, the cop had all of that equipment and vest on her and she held her own! :-)

      Chris Christie never stands for the black people. By now we know exactly how the sorry ass lying Republicans think, tell their racists hating voters what they want to hear, anything negative about President Obama, if it’s lies they don’t care.

      Sue, Christie did not make a mistake. He knew he was telling a big lie. I don’t understand why these so-called family value Republicans lie so much. He need to take that smiling wife and get out of the race.

    On the previous Post, Donna posted an article about a guy who turned himself in due to the encouragement he received from PBO’s speech. The article ended with this sentence which I would like to address…“While President Obama finds it necessary to address our state about a war on drugs, it is inconceivable that he refuses to address in any meaningful way the plight of our miners and their families,” said West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey, a Republican. “The president’s policies have consigned our state to poverty and have caused a loss of hope in our citizens.”

    The Republicans say they want less government in their lives, yet, here we have the AG of W.Virginia whining because PBO wants us to control and hopefully eliminate coal mining pollution and deaths and the leaders of WV are too lazy to think of alternate industries that would provide its citizens with fare wages and improved health.

    What about doing a little brainstorming and at least attempt to develop a plan or solution before you commence to bitching!

      GGail,

      Thank you soooo much for posting about Niroj! I was lurking a few weeks back and was blown away that there would be a Kurdish restaurant in Agoura, of all places. My girlfriend lives there and so we went for her birthday last night. It was absolutely delicious and the service was wonderful! I told the owner that I heard about it on TOD! :-)

      By the way, I read that a close relative of the owner was killed in the fight against ISIS recently. This quote is from an article about him and the restaurant (link below):

      “As he planned a party to celebrate the liberation of the northern Syrian town of Kobane from ISIS, he saw the horrible news on Facebook. His cousin was killed while fighting ISIS near Mosul, Iraq.”

    An ex-boyfriend of mine became a cop after years as a pro skateboarder. I was so hoping he would choose to pursue another career but he wanted to be a “hero”. When he was a rookie, I remember when him telling me how, when he would stop kids who were skateboarding he knew they were expecting him to harass them and, instead, he would ask to use their boards and then show them how to do tricks better! He got such a kick out of showing them that not all cops were d**ks.

      As a mental health therapist, periodically people would show up in the psych unit of the local hospital in an amnestic fugue state, usually brought on by trauma, and not know their identity or able to recall how they happened to be where they were.

      You might ask, which communities? Disadvantaged communities where the only investment we as a society are making, is to counter violence with violence, because social programs, better classrooms, better businesses, better jobs - any jobs, cost so much more. And this Congress would rather cut funding to those programs and fund the military industrial complex instead!

        So yes, when someone says their vote doesn’t count. Think again. Think beyond the immediate, think beyond yourself. Not voting, means a ‘yes’ vote for policies like this. Be invested in our shared future, be an informed ‪voter‬.

        I’m so glad of this community that Chips has built. You all are making a difference, each one of you, by showing your passion, by believing in what’s right, by speaking out, by acting and activism and yes, by voting. Thank you.

          Okay, so her mother and grandmother are still alive.
          SC has this law that will at some point put every black child in 90 day jail because of their attitude - I know it would have put me there at that age.

            Under SC law, I’d still be incarcerated today, 42 years after my graduation date! # of Black students in my school were less than 3%. My nickname was “mouth almighty;” was sent to the office regularly, however, as I was one of the “smart ones,” and had a Mom that was an active advocate, I was NEVER suspended. 99% of the time, I was right regarding the issue, hence, they tended to overlook my tactics…

      Pf, we need two things to win this race in PA. The first is that Ed Rendell has to stop messing with it and undermining Joe Sestak. The other is turnout. If we get a big Democratic turnout for the presidential race, we have a good chance.

    But here’s the bigger point: after Bush/Cheney ran up the federal deficit and left us the legacy of a Great Recession, all that “trickle-down” post-truth stuff didn’t sell very well anymore. That’s why - in the Obama era - the entire Republican Party initially went post-policy (i.e. obstructionist). They had nothing! Now their establishment candidates are back to the same old post-truth trickle-down nonsense.

    Luvvis has written about Zola:

    …………..

    Lessons from Zola’s Story: The Great Saga of Trapping and Mayhem
    Awesomely Luvvie — October 29, 2025 2 25
    By now, you’ve probably heard about the epic tale told by a woman named Zola, about a trip to Florida involving Jess, Z, and Jarrett. If you have not heard of this story, you have not been on the internet for the last 36 hours, and you were probably being productive with your life. Kudos. The rest of us, meanwhile, have been hemmed up as we’ve been riveted by the tales of trapping gone wrong, told by Zola on Twitter. HERE IS THE STORY. READ IT.

    I have spent the last day hollering at this story. Zola’s story gave me drama, suspense, comedy and thriller. It was like a ratchet Lifetime Movie and it is worthy of big screen. I’m honestly waiting for someone to run Zola a book deal so I can give her my money because she is a gifted storyteller.

    One thing I really appreciated about the story, are the lessons Zola passed on to us. There were so many things to take away to apply to your own life. You might not realize that you could extract teachable moments from tales of 2 strippers taking an ill-forsaken trip to Florida, America’s penis. But you just gotta open your eyes and look all around you. There’s inspiration everywhere.

    For example, I never knew “Vibing over our hoeism” is a perfectly acceptable pasttime. Does that mean you create a hoeism playlist and jam together in bonding of shared love of the traplife? Because if so, that sounds great and should be an Apple Music commercial. Or a Spotify playlist we can all subscribe to.

      no calls for an execution plan? Such as if you are reasonably suspected of breaking the law in any capacity you get executed immediately at the police officer’s discretion. Oh and as far as minimum wage, I’m sure the republicans are for lowering it to 10 cents an hour.

    on an earlier comment, there was concern expressed about the price of eggs;

    I suspect that this might be part of the explanation: =>

    I hope people remember that earlier this year, the US poultry industry experienced an extensive infection on the chicken farms.

    the highest incidence of the disease occurred in Iowa (disease also spread to the nation’s largest poultry farmer who is located in Iowa), which is responsible for producing the nation’s poultry and poultry products.

    as a result, there was wide-spread slaughter of the poultry in many states and at the time a shortage of poultry products was predicted for the near future.

    In our huge poultry-keeping state they had to stop any live birds from crossing county and state lines and even cancelled the poultry-related events at the annual fair;

    I heard that the Feds had to be very rigorous in the implementation of this slaughter;

    the Feds also imposed a length of time during which the poultry units would be dis-infected and left unused to ensure that the disease-causing organisms were dead and couldn’t spread further;

  31. 72 prettyfoot58
    October 29, 2025 at 7:53 pm

    The big deal is that Barack Obama was handed a $1.3 trillion deficit (FY 2009, Bush’s last budget), at the time nearly 10% of GDP. He’s cut that in a quarter in 6 years. He did that while rescuing the economy from the brink of absolute catastrophe, enacting new health care legislation, and paying for wars his predecessor started. As a matter of fact, in the last month of the last fiscal year, the federal government even ran a surplus.
