I just read that whole article. It is sad, shaming, disgusting. I know there are a lot of good officers, but if they don’t start standing up for victims and stop protecting the bad ones, they will all be tarred with the same brush. Yes…but it was even MORE than that. Watching the angst on his face that he may have passed by very interesting women and not engaged with them because they weren’t the sterotypical “ideal” woman…was really a revelation that you could see from him, and that made him ashamed and sad…that he could have had incredible relationships, be it romantic or platonic, with women that were deemed “less than perfect” really touched him…he found that out about himself from this movie. Amazing.

I currently work in child welfare. But as a social worker, my dream job would be to do work with former inmates and giving them a second chance at life without the stigma and rejection society tends to impose on them. I have a feeling PBO’s post presidency will involve some of this.
I am interested in restorative justice, especially as it pertains to juveniles. I am hoping that when I relocate to the Washington, D.C. area I can find work doing this.

In most civilized countries juveniles are charged as juveniles (people under 18) and their crimes are not reported or used against them in later life. I will never understand charging a young person “as an adult”
