Love the tweets. Thanks for posting NW. I hate the thought of President Obama not being our President. He has brought so much to the office and has done so much for us. It breaks my heart.
All this GOP debate nonsense had me chuckling to myself thinking about a presser PBO did not that long ago. MSM was whining he wouldn’t do one and wouldn’t answer questions, so he had the presser ( i think on Iran?) and they basically ran out of loaded talking points ( i mean questions) so he pulled out his own questions to ask himself. LMAO. these GOP tools ain’t got nuthin on our guy.
Wish i could find the link to it somewhere but i could not.
I remember that presser. The fools, or the toddlers if you want, couldn’t ask too many pertinent questions for POTUS to answer that he ended up proposing and answering them at the same time.
I DON’T EVEN WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT BECAUSE IT BREAKS MY HEART….THEY BROKE THE MOLD……………..HOWEVER WE HAVE TO UNDERSTAND HE NEEDS HIS OWN LIFE AD CERTAINLY DESERVES IT AND THEN SOME!
Congratulations COS! Today is a good day to be out of the house while the window replacement crew is working hard. I’m running around Portland with Obamacare signup event flyers for all the new pot shops. More than 132 in Portland and over 300 in Oregon. Very receptive businesses! The county health department has partnered with the public libraries to host enrollment fairs with navigators.
Thanks Nerdy for these “I heart Obama” tweets. They so very touchingly and elegantly capture what many of think, what some of us think but might hesitate to say, and what most GOP, DEM pols & media figures KNOW but can’t bring themselves to admit…
NBC appears to be really catering to conservatives. Between Morning Joe, Chuck Todd, getting rid of many daily Progressive shows (Rev Al, Ed Schultz, Martin Bashir, etc.) and trying to meet Republican candidates’ debate demands, it feels like NBC is moving in the wrong direction.
BREAKING: Charles Koch calls Republicans he supported in 2014 a bad investment because of their continued support of corporate welfare.
— Joe Scarborough (@JoeNBC) November 3, 2025
Oh please I call B.S! Has nothing to do with “corporate welfare.” He thinks they’re a bad investment because their retaking of the Senate and gains in the House didn’t destroy PBO and render him a lame duck as they had hoped.
Yeah, right.
How much of that Corporate Welfare Billions of Dollars over the decades did the KOCHroaches ever returned back to the US Treasury?
Did they Once refuse to accept the Tax Subsides?
Why in KS and now in WI have they systematically and collectively using their stooges to rewrite the History of those States’ Historically Progressive Governance?
Exactly. I don’t know who this guy thinks he is fooling. And of course he has his top GOP stenographer on MSNBC - Morning Joke, happily relaying this false info to the willing masses.
The last entry on Google in answer to my question from the local newspaper was from 2014 — the last off-year elex I recall voting in was the 2003 debacle that elected Arnie and had Ariana HuffPo on the same ballot.
Me, too, Bill R. Hubby and I were talking about this just a few days ago, going back over all the presidents of our lives, what they did, what they stood for, and how their terms in office have affected the current world. Never much liked history when I was a student- lots of dates and names to memorize- but a real pleasure of these late decades is having a view of history, populated by interesting people, and (gulp) interesting times.
We concluded, just as you say, that President Obama is the most spectacularly successful presidency of our lives. He, along with Joe Biden, and Michelle, and his amazing team have done so much good, made so many stubborn issues shift, and kept up our spirits every step of the rocky path- it’s astounding and humbling and a huge relief. Hope. Change. Yes We Can!
PBO is the most talented politician in living memory, yet emoprogs in uproar (and end up with egg on their whining faces) and MSM flatly deny the truth. They’re part of the minority of Americans who can’t wait for Jan 20 2017.
Well, it sure would have been nice if his party hadn’t run away from his successes in the past 2 midterm elections. Honestly, I was gritting my teeth, expecting more of the same from the dem presidential candidates, so I’m greatly pleased that they’ve had the sense to stand on PBO’s record. Hopefully they’ve learned that there’s no benefit in courting the rwnjs.
Best president of my lifetime, too, and I was born when FDR was president. However, the first one I actually remember is Truman. My husband was born when Hoover was still president, so he remembered the complete difference FDR made in their lives. His father was out of work until he got work as a landscaper with the WPA. His family adored FDR. FDR was always his standard, and the only one who approached FDR was PBO. By the end of his life this summer, he said that PBO was the BEST president of his lifetime…..he certainly is of mine. In fact, about a week before he died, he said “President Obama is still president, isn’t he, honey.” I answered, “OH yes, he is.” And he smiled real big.
The last event he watched on TV was the funeral for Senator Pinckney and PBO’s eulogy. He just was riveted, and thrilled. That was when he said PBO was the best president of his lifetime. He also said that to a bunch of conservative female poll workers at a local election in May. He just stood up in front of the whole group after he voted and stated that. He almost cried as he said it, he was so filled with his respect and admiration for PBO.
Good to hear from you (I’m behind as usual at TOD, and have missed quite a few threads recently).
You’ve been a real trooper during this difficult year, my admiration for you know no bounds.
Your husband was such a good, wonderful man. Good to know you can rely on Vice President Joe Biden for comforting words — his insight into human grief and restoration after loss has few parallels. ((( Carolyn )))
Know you’re not on Twitter, but one of the best (IMHO) news feeds is from KFOR, the CBS OKC affiliate — good balance between local (hard to believe there’s so many shootings there, national and heartwarming news).
in the previous thread…highlighted was the speech that the President gave at the Hamilton fundraiser…near the end of his talk he spoke about the issue of a 3rd term…
he said that besides it being unconstitutional and that FLOTUS would not let him,,,he said that when he ran for office in 2007/2008…he did not say…YES I CAN….he said YES WE CAN…that it has never been about him…that is was always about us….
if someone could cut that part of his speech….it was so profound…proving once again what a great President he is…
Tears are stinging my eyes. I know he’ll continue the wonderful work he began back in Chicago, and continued with throughout his presidency, and we’ll still get photos and news. But today, it’s hard to picture a world where he’s not president, and I’m also as joyful (and tearful) as I am right now.
Dang it! So now it’s down to just O’Donnell, Hayes and Rachel Maddow (and on the weekends Rev Al and Melissa Harris Perry). So depressing. NBC has zero loyalty to its Progressive viewers.
True, but nowadays this is really an abuse of the system. As Boehlert rightly points out back them pols needed the travel time. There should be a way to update some of these archaic, and unfair, practices. It still bugs me that senators and reps can publicly say they aren’t going to do their jobs, then actually *don’t* while deliberately sabotaging progress, and still collect a handsome salary. That’s a moral outrage IMO.
Clever marketing scam, right wing racists Republicans want to try to convince people that they aren’t racists. Now Donald Trump supporters don’t give a dam if anyone know they are racists.
Back from Physical Therapy for my hip replacement. Then an incision check at my surgical center. Am working hard at recovery. Besides the obvious rewards I had another surprise waiting for me in the mail.
Last week I posted about getting a very welcomed letter from the WH signed by PBO for one of my regular wh.gov emails. I mentioned having written emails several times a month for the last seven years. Well, I was overjoyed to receive the letter. Hold onto your horses! I received another signed letter today about a different email along with a signed PBO photo. Neither letter was a request of any kind just a thank you for my correspondence. Each letter was different from the other. The first letter was dated October 19th while the second was dated October 22nd. A new hip and two letters from the President all in October! My lucky month!
Despite ….despite…the President giving DEMs a blueprint on how to win…they continue to falter…i am beginning to believe that they are just unable to do what is needed to win…i am very concerned about 2016….it does not matter what the GOP does…what will the DEMS do….where is the massive voter registration campaigns…the GOTV campaigns….
sigh….we may all lose our health care if we cannot get voters to the polls
so many elected Dems are sanctioning bigotry by their distancing from PBO or refusing to campaign on the Obama/Biden achievements;
another thing, there a number of elected Dems, holding crucial offices, who believe they are smarter than PBO and therefore ignore his blueprint for winning elections.
I heading off to work on something else tonight => too angry at this voter apathy
there were 3 vacancies…there was a strong push to fill those seats with DEMS from the State DEM party…i urged my family and friends to vote straight DEM….just push that one button….
Dear TOD, I’ll be traveling on biz from now until Monday mid-day and will unlikely have any time to check in. I’ll try to keep track of issues via Twitter so you may see some activity in the sidebar.
Chips, NW, BTs & TODers, thank you for your posts. NW, these tweets brought a large much needed LOL & I’m going to go back a re-watch the Hamilton video!
My early morning to work today was just plain awful. I posted a quick comment earlier about getting out of the train station, street level and seeing tons of police activity, roads cordoned off, people milling around, and a dead body in the middle of the street. This is a busy intersection downtown so I thought the guy had been killed by a driver. Well, even though not yet confirmed by police, the word out there is that the dead guy was a lawyer in the office building next to mine who jumped. My first thought when hearing this, was how did he land in the far lane away from the building he supposedly jumped from? I’m not CSI, but that building’s little balconies don’t accommodate flying leaps. The police had also cordoned off way too many blocks for it to be a jumper from a building located in just one block. One of my colleagues walked that intersection as it happened & she was traumatized. People heard him scream as he came down. I came by a few minutes after the impact. Another disturbing thing was seeing idiots pulling out their cell phones and taking photos, as if it was some kind of movie or something. Jeebus! Are we so desensitized that respect at such a sad happening flies right out? I felt sick, saddened.
Thank you for letting me vent a little here, it’s a little hard getting that visual out of my mind. xox
Gazelle, so sorry this happened to you today. What a horrifying experience!!! And, yes, people do act in truly grotesque ways in tragedies. Hope you give yourself the time to recover.
JackieG, thank you! There’s something so crass about people these days, don’t know if we might need to teach folks about cell phone etiquette. One of my colleagues told me there was a guy out there taking selfies! Oh My F’ing G! A selfie?!!!
Hey NW.
Thanks for posting tweets.
Congrats on your afternoon gold, COS!
Tweets that warm my heart, NW. Thank you!

True, true.
I’ll look for the link and post it.
:) I remember that now that you mentioned it. :) :) PBO is the BEST-est!
Here you go, Kid K! Approx 1:01:54 is where the President takes out his notes.
VC, you’re good!
Thanks.
seriously the best!
THIS! :)
I DON’T EVEN WANT TO TALK ABOUT IT BECAUSE IT BREAKS MY HEART….THEY BROKE THE MOLD……………..HOWEVER WE HAVE TO UNDERSTAND HE NEEDS HIS OWN LIFE AD CERTAINLY DESERVES IT AND THEN SOME!
I’LL BE IN ARIZONA BY THEN…BURY MYSELF IN THE SAND AND PRETEND IT NEVER HAPPENED! GOING TO SUPER GLUE PBO TO THE OVAL OFFICE CHAR!
From the end of the last thread…….I’m a bit sluggish today. :-(
Love the “I’m With Stupid” books. So fitting. LOL.

YAY Judith. Very enterprising use of your time while the house is being winterized :-)
I love first-, second- AND third-term Obama! :)

The Kokes are smoking or using the same dope Ben Carson is using and they think we are all stupid like the tea baggery.
Done! Always feels good! 😄
Thank you for your vote!
Thanks J’OB! Every vote is too important to miss!
Totally agree!
I voted too!
Is there voting in CA today? I searched online for “is there an election in Ventura County today” and got no answer to this yes or no question.
I just voted this evening! Our only ballot was for Citrus Community College Trustee, but every VOTE counts!
Thanks, GGail!

Great Tweets, NW.
Congrats COS on your Golden :star:
Gotta say: the shoes! <3
Love our FLOTUS. A big thanks to her for thinking of our troops.
She really is a fitness buff. LOL
Love it.
Best President of my lifetime, and I’m on the far side of 60. Harry Truman was in office when I was born.
Me, too, Bill R. why have Maddow…Hayes…O’Donnell….been left?
Even when they’re in D.C., Republicans get nothing done so not sure they’ll be missed during their seven week vacation. They’re completely useless.

Ohio election results are still delayed - so we are waiting here at the local spot;

rwnj’s - we hate obamacare and so we will vote gop
left - obamacare is not single payer and so we are staying home as ‘protest votes’.
gop (with gold-plated state-paid insurance plans) - thanks guyz, you’re the best.
any news about the PA results?
not yet….
do you mean the PA SCOTUS race
yup, I read that the future of the state turns on these judicial races?

Too early, AMK. There are not enough PA counties reporting to determine anything yet.
Thx jackie. Hope the rest of the day/night doesn’t turn out as disappointing as the start of the day/night.
I am going to strongly disagree here. Why the f…k one needs to be ‘motivated’ just to spare a few minutes to vote?
this is the nature of the American Voter…they are either motivated by fear and hatred or hope and inspiration….very few are motivated by duty
