Love the tweets. Thanks for posting NW. I hate the thought of President Obama not being our President. He has brought so much to the office and has done so much for us. It breaks my heart.

All this GOP debate nonsense had me chuckling to myself thinking about a presser PBO did not that long ago. MSM was whining he wouldn’t do one and wouldn’t answer questions, so he had the presser ( i think on Iran?) and they basically ran out of loaded talking points ( i mean questions) so he pulled out his own questions to ask himself. LMAO. these GOP tools ain’t got nuthin on our guy.

Wish i could find the link to it somewhere but i could not.

Congratulations COS! Today is a good day to be out of the house while the window replacement crew is working hard. I’m running around Portland with Obamacare signup event flyers for all the new pot shops. More than 132 in Portland and over 300 in Oregon. Very receptive businesses! The county health department has partnered with the public libraries to host enrollment fairs with navigators.

I love first-, second- AND third-term Obama! :)

Thanks Nerdy for these “I heart Obama” tweets. They so very touchingly and elegantly capture what many of think, what some of us think but might hesitate to say, and what most GOP, DEM pols & media figures KNOW but can’t bring themselves to admit…

NBC appears to be really catering to conservatives. Between Morning Joe, Chuck Todd, getting rid of many daily Progressive shows (Rev Al, Ed Schultz, Martin Bashir, etc.) and trying to meet Republican candidates’ debate demands, it feels like NBC is moving in the wrong direction.

Oh please I call B.S! Has nothing to do with “corporate welfare.” He thinks they’re a bad investment because their retaking of the Senate and gains in the House didn’t destroy PBO and render him a lame duck as they had hoped.

      Yeah, right.
How much of that Corporate Welfare Billions of Dollars over the decades did the KOCHroaches ever returned back to the US Treasury?
Did they Once refuse to accept the Tax Subsides?
Why in KS and now in WI have they systematically and collectively using their stooges to rewrite the History of those States’ Historically Progressive Governance?

      November 3, 2025 at 6:13 pm

Me, too, Bill R. Hubby and I were talking about this just a few days ago, going back over all the presidents of our lives, what they did, what they stood for, and how their terms in office have affected the current world. Never much liked history when I was a student- lots of dates and names to memorize- but a real pleasure of these late decades is having a view of history, populated by interesting people, and (gulp) interesting times.

We concluded, just as you say, that President Obama is the most spectacularly successful presidency of our lives. He, along with Joe Biden, and Michelle, and his amazing team have done so much good, made so many stubborn issues shift, and kept up our spirits every step of the rocky path- it’s astounding and humbling and a huge relief. Hope. Change. Yes We Can!

        GA/GM Susanne.

        Absolutely spot on.

PBO is the most talented politician in living memory, yet emoprogs in uproar (and end up with egg on their whining faces) and MSM flatly deny the truth. They’re part of the minority of Americans who can’t wait for Jan 20 2017.

Well, it sure would have been nice if his party hadn’t run away from his successes in the past 2 midterm elections. Honestly, I was gritting my teeth, expecting more of the same from the dem presidential candidates, so I’m greatly pleased that they’ve had the sense to stand on PBO’s record. Hopefully they’ve learned that there’s no benefit in courting the rwnjs.

Best president of my lifetime, too, and I was born when FDR was president. However, the first one I actually remember is Truman. My husband was born when Hoover was still president, so he remembered the complete difference FDR made in their lives. His father was out of work until he got work as a landscaper with the WPA. His family adored FDR. FDR was always his standard, and the only one who approached FDR was PBO. By the end of his life this summer, he said that PBO was the BEST president of his lifetime…..he certainly is of mine. In fact, about a week before he died, he said “President Obama is still president, isn’t he, honey.” I answered, “OH yes, he is.” And he smiled real big.
The last event he watched on TV was the funeral for Senator Pinckney and PBO’s eulogy. He just was riveted, and thrilled. That was when he said PBO was the best president of his lifetime. He also said that to a bunch of conservative female poll workers at a local election in May. He just stood up in front of the whole group after he voted and stated that. He almost cried as he said it, he was so filled with his respect and admiration for PBO.

            GE Carolyn.

Good to hear from you (I’m behind as usual at TOD, and have missed quite a few threads recently).

You’ve been a real trooper during this difficult year, my admiration for you know no bounds.

Your husband was such a good, wonderful man. Good to know you can rely on Vice President Joe Biden for comforting words — his insight into human grief and restoration after loss has few parallels. ((( Carolyn )))

Know you’re not on Twitter, but one of the best (IMHO) news feeds is from KFOR, the CBS OKC affiliate — good balance between local (hard to believe there’s so many shootings there, national and heartwarming news).

in the previous thread…highlighted was the speech that the President gave at the Hamilton fundraiser…near the end of his talk he spoke about the issue of a 3rd term…

he said that besides it being unconstitutional and that FLOTUS would not let him,,,he said that when he ran for office in 2007/2008…he did not say…YES I CAN….he said YES WE CAN…that it has never been about him…that is was always about us….

if someone could cut that part of his speech….it was so profound…proving once again what a great President he is…

    YES WE CAN…

True, but nowadays this is really an abuse of the system. As Boehlert rightly points out back them pols needed the travel time. There should be a way to update some of these archaic, and unfair, practices. It still bugs me that senators and reps can publicly say they aren’t going to do their jobs, then actually *don’t* while deliberately sabotaging progress, and still collect a handsome salary. That’s a moral outrage IMO.

Back from Physical Therapy for my hip replacement. Then an incision check at my surgical center. Am working hard at recovery. Besides the obvious rewards I had another surprise waiting for me in the mail.
Last week I posted about getting a very welcomed letter from the WH signed by PBO for one of my regular wh.gov emails. I mentioned having written emails several times a month for the last seven years. Well, I was overjoyed to receive the letter. Hold onto your horses! I received another signed letter today about a different email along with a signed PBO photo. Neither letter was a request of any kind just a thank you for my correspondence. Each letter was different from the other. The first letter was dated October 19th while the second was dated October 22nd. A new hip and two letters from the President all in October! My lucky month!

      so many elected Dems are sanctioning bigotry by their distancing from PBO or refusing to campaign on the Obama/Biden achievements;

another thing, there a number of elected Dems, holding crucial offices, who believe they are smarter than PBO and therefore ignore his blueprint for winning elections.

I heading off to work on something else tonight => too angry at this voter apathy

Chips, NW, BTs & TODers, thank you for your posts. NW, these tweets brought a large much needed LOL & I’m going to go back a re-watch the Hamilton video!

My early morning to work today was just plain awful. I posted a quick comment earlier about getting out of the train station, street level and seeing tons of police activity, roads cordoned off, people milling around, and a dead body in the middle of the street. This is a busy intersection downtown so I thought the guy had been killed by a driver. Well, even though not yet confirmed by police, the word out there is that the dead guy was a lawyer in the office building next to mine who jumped. My first thought when hearing this, was how did he land in the far lane away from the building he supposedly jumped from? I’m not CSI, but that building’s little balconies don’t accommodate flying leaps. The police had also cordoned off way too many blocks for it to be a jumper from a building located in just one block. One of my colleagues walked that intersection as it happened & she was traumatized. People heard him scream as he came down. I came by a few minutes after the impact. Another disturbing thing was seeing idiots pulling out their cell phones and taking photos, as if it was some kind of movie or something. Jeebus! Are we so desensitized that respect at such a sad happening flies right out? I felt sick, saddened.

Thank you for letting me vent a little here, it’s a little hard getting that visual out of my mind. xox
