Hi, Df. It must be really hard trying to be respectful of different cultures while being comfortable and looking good. She has had to cover up her arms and legs since she started this trip, which must seem pretty stifling to her. Still, she can pull anything off with both beauty and panache.

Fox Newsers Suddenly Quiet When Their ‘Hero Cop’ Revealed to Be Fraudster
Several of the cable net’s conservative commentators were quick to tie a cop’s death to ‘anti-cop violence,’ but they’ve gone silent now that it’s been proven otherwise.

The investigation is now looking at wife and son as well.

Why Ben Carson Isn’t Going Away — And What Makes That So Scary

    ByED KILGORE
    PublishedNOVEMBER 4, 2015, 6:00 AM EST

During the last month the long-awaited, heavily-promoted decline in Donald Trump’s standing in the Republican presidential nominating contest has finally begun to occur. But aside from a small reshuffling of the order in the “lanes” (e.g., Rubio moving past Bush among Establishment Republicans and Cruz moving past Huckabee, Santorum and Jindal among experienced Christian Right candidates) to which the candidates have been assigned by the punditocracy, the big beneficiary of softening support for Trump has been another candidate with no experience in elected office, Dr. Ben Carson. He is running either first or a strong second in virtually every national poll, and is now routinely leading polls of Iowa as well. His approval ratings, moreover, are extremely high, and best in the field. It’s safe to say he is almost universally admired by GOP voters.

The conventional wisdom is that Carson is beloved for being a genial, soft-spoken figure and a non-politician with a distinguished biography. That may be true, though this does not necessarily distinguish him from many thousands of his fellow Americans. An equally obvious factor is that he is African American, and Republicans frustrated with being accused of white identity politics if not outright racism love being able to support a black candidate who is as conservative as they are.

Less obvious — and finally being recognized by political reporters spending time in Iowa — is that Carson is a familiar, beloved figure to conservative evangelicals, who have been reading his books for years.

    And a happy Heads Up.

Also, this week Rachel has mentioned that something big is coming on Guantanamo.

Rubio: Deferred action for illegal immigrants must end
    November 04, 2015, 07:14 pm

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) on Wednesday said he would halt protections for illegal immigrants who reach the U.S. as children.

“It will have to end at some point,” he said after an event at Saint Anselm College in Goffstown, N.H., according to Bloomberg.

If elected president, Rubio said he would discontinue Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) even if Congress failed to pass immigration reform beforehand.

“[It would be] ideal,” he said when asked if he wanted Congress to act on immigration first.

“But if it doesn’t, it will end,” the 2016 GOP presidential candidate added. “It cannot be the permanent policy of the United States.”

I cannot find the words to describe the level of contempt I feel for this little Rubio twerp. He benefited from everything this country has to offer, but wants to make sure no one else does. Now he’s even going after children.

    Mini-rant Alert:

PBO is such a superior individual and President, it’s no wonder the MSM are constantly trying to tear him down with their bullshit memes about him causing Dems to lose, and all this crap. Notice the media has absolutely nothing to say about the lead politicians in the GOP when republicans lose. The media has not tied Bill Clinton to 8 yrs of GWB - they blame Al gore, John Kerry, the Naderites and the voters.

But any off-year election with shitty Dem candidates (that run away from PBO) in a gerrymandered red-state district that produces a GOP “win” is somehow PBO’s fault?!?!? Meanwhile, deafening silence on those Dems who DO WIN WHILE EMBRACING PBO & the Obama coalition…notice the silence on the Dem sweep in PA (a purple state)….

    • 113 Linda
      November 5, 2025 at 9:37 am

Rachel covered all the Dem wins across the country last night. She was the only one that mentioned it that I know of.

        November 5, 2025 at 9:50 am

I don’t watch MSNBC, but I’m glad she did it. And most likely, she WAS the only one covering it. The rest of the media, including many on Twitter, seemed to be hyperfocused on Kentucky as if PBO had swept that state in 2008 and 2012 - which he didn’t.

        • 115 0388jojothecat
          November 5, 2025 at 1:49 pm

Chris Hayes first half was all about how unprecidented it was that so many DEMs lost under PBO and if it was his fault although PBO won his two terms. He did blame the DEMs inability to gotv in the mid-terms and to spend money on DEM candidates during the mid-terms.
