What a contrast with the GOP! The Candidate Forum was excellent and was a good forum for candidates to explore at length their positions and their own history.

Do you think the GOP clowns would do a forum like the Democrats did tonight?

Carly Fiorina refuse to correct a man who call President Obama a black Muslim. How can these idiots claim to blame any race division on President Obama? Their racism has nothing to do with it. On one hand Obama is a Muslim, on the other hand he was a member of Rev. Wright church for twenty years.

Good question. I found this to be a very illuminating format- one journalist, one candidate. The faux bickering is cut out, yet it’s easy to compare candidates. Of course, there are only 3 candidates, and I think there will have to be a lot more winnowing on the rethug side before a focused view like this would be useful, let alone bearable. Plus, I think the rethug audience actually prefers the cock-fight format.

On another note… fabulous photo by Hilo resident wins national competition.

‘ The annual competition receives approximately 25,000 entries in the fields of photography, science and conservation. Each photograph is judged on technical quality, originality and artistic merit.

The winning photographs are on display through August 2016 in the 20th anniversary Awards Exhibition at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C. ‘

I love seeing how this President is setting a standard that will be hard for any other President to meet. So thankful to be a Obamabot and a TODbot!

Yikes! Though it does look like the orientation of that tree-monster is designed to keep kids out of the streets, not the forests. :)

    Good evening TOD

I don’t seem to have much time at the minute for doing much other than scanning old posts - this downsizing is for the birds, beginning to understand why old folks like to stay where they are rather than go through this selling & moving and downsizing - however - 10 days to go - and maybe we’ll be unpacked before Christmas.

Meanwhile - I seem to have been very gloomy about politics recently and then along came all the posts today - nothing but great news from the President and the administration - no matter how the press tried to spin it - and nothing but lies and stupid from the GOP pretenders - no matter how the press try to spin that.

Seems the day ended with some good interviews by Rachel Maddow & the dem candidates proving, yet again, that they are substance compared tot he fluff from the GOP.

Cheered me up immensely. Now if only this message can get through to everyone, if only the GOP can be stopped from disenfranchising those who would vote against them. I think I still have hope.

99, I feel your pain! Working on sorting getting rid of the excess as we speak. I have not only my own stuff, but some possessions of my deceased son, aunts, and uncles! Goal is to have the house and carriage house completed by March, then I get to tackle my Aunt & Uncle’s you store it locker (10 x 20 — packed to the ceiling)! Unfortunately, it is taking me FOREVER; I can just toss things, I have to stop, read letters & articles, look at pictures, reminisce… I’m sooooooooo easily distracted…

Last night’s forum was good. Our candidates are leaps and bounds better than the GOP/TP clowns; hope the Dems will get there act together and focus on voter registration, education, and GOTV!

Hi jazziz2 - we all seem to be bower birds - remember when I married - everything we owned fitted in a very small, very old car.

Keep all those memories safe - the only good part of downsizing :)

the President’s speech at a NY fundraiser speaks on the politics of fear and the politics of hope…this is what makes the President so powerful… that despite the hard times he inspires hope…he does so like none other…
