Gutierrez didn’t get it. He had recently visited six high schools with about 2,000 students. “They did not ask me about Pell Grants. They did not ask me how I could help them get into college. They did not ask me about West Point and the Academies.” That’s the usual stuff, he said.
“They asked me about Donald Trump and what I was going to do, whether or not the 14th Amendment was going to be eliminated from the Constitution and they were going to lose their citizenship.” These kids, he said, “are afraid.”
Plz don't give Trump & SNL ratings tonight: TV normalizes Donald Trump’s offensive shtick https://t.co/kNjuSXShea
Gutierrez is so right, Donna. I mentioned the other day that in door-to-door canvassing among Latinos, there was palpable fear about Trump and the possibility that he could take away their citizenship-even among Puerto Ricans. Every time one of these offensive idiots opens their mouths, they lose more minority votes. Both Rubio and Cruz think they will get a pass on these because of their heritage, but they are going to be very unpleasantly surprised if-God forbid-one of them makes it to the general.
I know Halloween is over and I’m off doing my day job as a highly paid journalist that was given a second chance ( I actually knew that I would be welcomed back to the fold….because, well…look at me!) BriWi here….just wanted to say that DAMN! Dr. Cray Cray Carson makes me look good!! If I would have known this ahead of time, he could have been my mentor!
do you note another pattern: a number of the individuals who would be in a position to verify the blabbering surgeon’s lies are already dead or are not named (so it could be anyone to step up and claim it is him/her);
can you imagine if you could ask :
- “did he really try to hit your head with a hammer”;
- “did you ever speak to him again after he tried to stab you? I hope you still have the belt buckle from the stabbing rage”;
- “Madame, did you teach him in that class? Did you ever say that he is the most honest student”;
we so badly want to believe the feel-good tales people tell that we don’t even question the obvious (for instance, how can any instructor pull such a “hoax” on a class and face no repercussions from the college administration)
That interview made me sick to my stomach. While I am sorry for the loss of any young person and their parents’ grief, these are the same type of people who believe that brown and black people are morally corrupt, genetically diseased, and somehow deserving of what happens to them if they fall into drug addiction. They and the media did not care as long as they were covered when they said that heroin addiction was an urban problem, something those other lesser people did and they deserved whatever happened to them as a result of the addiction. They demonized other people’s children and now that all white enclaves like Vermont, Maine, rural towns and mid-western states are dealing with this horror, they call heroin addiction a disease and want everyone else to feel sorry for them and to mobilize all of the country’s resources to rescue them from this. I call bullshit on the while thing. When will people in this country learn that there is no us and them? We are all citizens of the USA and what affects one affects all. All of our history is that nothing is a problem that needs to be solved until it hurts white middle class people.
Really? Were you married those years?
Were you in the military too jazziz2? I have trouble remembering who did or does what anymore here. Just can’t keep up with the bt’s and especially Pres. Obama! There needs to be an emoji of the Energizer Bunny for him. 🏌 (Closest I came) 😎
Yes. Actual he was there ’74-’75. HS BF, we joined the USMC together. Got married in ’75. Marriage only lasted a couple of years. I made USMC a career; he served 6 yrs. Nov 1st would have been our 40th anniversary. He called to reminisce — we had a “friendly” divorce. As always, he ended the conversation with “Wish I had stuck to your plan…”
Thanks Jazziz2! Glad it was amicable. The two of you didn’t have children together I take it?
Were you stationed at Camp LeJuenne during your career? Did you live on base those years?
Hubby & I went to high school together but didn’t date until last semester. He joined the Navy and we married after he was through the Great Lakes boot camp and Corp School. That’s why he was stationed at Camp LeJuenne. We married October of ’71 and lived off base in Jacksonville, NC. It was the “best of times and the worst of times.” ☺️ Poor, but happy. We managed to stick it out and we’ve been married 44 years October 2!
We have two boys. Our oldest was born at the Naval hospital at Camp LeJuenne, while Hubby was in Cuba.
Part of the good times. 😉
Poor son number 2, he’s lived his whole life in WY. 😉
No, we didn’t have children together. He has a daughter that was conceived during our separation; I adopted two of my cousins eight years after we separated. Yes, we were at LeJeune. Most of my health issues can be traced to the contaminated drinking water at LeJeune. Lived in the barracks; moved to a J’ville apt for a few months after marriage; bought a home — then three months later he decided to get out rather than reenlist. He returned to hometown, I rented out the house and moved back to the barracks. He regrets his choices…
The reason I asked was because of the water issues, but did not until a few years ago when it became public. I looked into it because I was so concerned for our son. But fortunately we didn’t reside on base. Are they compensating you now? When I realized it didn’t affect us, I can’t forgot the specifics. Have trouble remembering even if it does apply to me. Grrr 😏
Take care Jazziz. Hope your health issues improve.
I’m receiving excellent medical care; my disability compensation application is in the queue.
What frosts me is while on active duty, when I and others were becoming ill, with similar conditions, at rates higher than average, I voiced my thought that it was environmental — folks said I was crazy… Turns out exposure to CamLej water AND PCB’s at HQMC are the source of my health problems… Your government at work…
The Spirit of Villarosa. Hey y’all: If you are on Facebook, please go in and check out this brand new page. This is my daughters’ newest project, working on the publication of a forthcoming book - very, very exciting. Please Like the page if you are moved to, and share. I have given her several ways to get in touch with Pete Souza as well, as I feel he may be quite interested in this project (in his ‘spare’ time, of course!) ;)
Now Ben makes an itty bitty more sense.
Didn’t Armstrong run as an R candidate in 2000? Remember seeing him on talk TV before I quit watching way back when. Then I was reading in our LOCAL paper of all places, “WY” in Jan, 2004, had a short story about a republican dropping out of a race because of a scandal in IL. (Times have changed in republica!) Anyway I became aware of a person sooner than most not living in IL. His Name! was Barack Obama! The R’s were panicking and looking for a candidate! In moves Armstrong W. to save the Day. Fortunately C-Span showed at least one debate.
The rest is history! Thanks to a strong Republican Party in our county the local paper made the R’s & me aware of the greatest President I’ve known!
Dance
Chips, before you disappear, can you bring out the Dancing Man please?
Although ……. they were RUBBISH again!1!1!1!! :-)
Your expectations are too high this early.
Just dance woman and enjoy the Victory! 👯
LOL! This looks like me last at the Tower of Power concert. It was GREAT!
That would be last night.
:-) A win’s a win, I suppose!
Don’t blame Uncle Ben, blame his handlers
read some where that Armstrong is one of his chief handlers - that there says it all
Yep!
Chat, chat, chat. Astonishing the depths these foolish GOP are willing to drop to, in the eyes of the world!

GM Donna and TOD. I deleted the SNL show for this week, the moment I heard that he would be he host.

I am so happy that people are waking up to the truth. I was starting to get worried. I just pray that they turnout in mass come Nov 2016

Me too!

I agree with you 100%, CEB, addiction is never addiction until it hits the wrong person.
Agree with you too CEB! It’s so blatant if you open your eyes and are aware.
This is impossible! The republicans told me that everything would be a disaster and they never ever lie…

my bet:
- as usual, PBO will be publicly kind (perhaps more so) to pompous Netanyahu as he visits the White House on Monday;
- I have always known that PBO is a better person than me because I would never have been that gracious to bibi after all the crap he has pulled;
but deep down,
I hope PBO can allow himself a few minutes of immaturity and mentally ask bibi, “how is karma”
Now Netanyahu has to come to the Whitehouse with his tail between the legs. President Obama has beaten Netanyahu at every turn.
Biggest Grifter Ever
I think something might me going down next week concerning Gitmo.
😳 😉 😎
Hubby was stationed their for six months in ’73-’74.
My ex-hubby was stationed there in ’76.

That’s tough! It really hurts when your country lets you down. It’s really bad when vets suffer and it affected your life.
Almost like Agent Orange.

No; you’re thinking of Alan Keyes . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Keyes
Really? WOW! How could I totally not remember that? Thanks for correcting me. 😕
That is who I remember, just forgot his name, thanks for correcting me.
