Thank you for giving me the heads up. I do know how fortunate I am to live only minutes from all these great wonders so I do try and take advantage of it all. Now that the girls are getting older I cannot wait to take them to all the museums so that they can experience it as well. One of my oldest memories of my mother was her getting me all decked out in my Sunday best and she taking me to the Smithsonian after church one Sunday afternoon when I was about 5 or 6 years old. Then we went to their cafeteria (which no longer exists) and had ham and mashed potatoes for dinner. That day has gone down as one of my fondest memories of her. :)
I’ve had some things on my mind and am just putting them out here in case anyone has the answers.
1) With my job I get health insurance. Every year we have open enrollment and get an opportunity to review all the plans that are being made available to us. If I do not change anything I don’t have to do anything. Why isn’t ObamaCare setup this same way? Why do you have to go to an exchange and re-enroll every year? Why isn’t there the ability to automatically re-enroll?
2) Why does everyone “leak” everything before things are announced. This is my one big pet peeve I have with politics. All of the campaigns do it and even the President’s administration does it. The only thing that I can remember that was not leaked beforehand was VP Joes decision about entering the Presidential race. Is there some written agreement with the press that everything must be told to them before its made known to the public?
3) I saw a clip this morning of a school administrator at Univ of Missouri who was not allowing reporters to record or take pictures of the protesters. She called for “muscle” to move them away. Why do they not want any press or pictures?
1. Great, great, great point. I’d really love to know the reasoning behind not having that option. Could be valid or not. It seems like that would alleviate some stress and red tape.
2. I know there are some wink wink and I’ll slip you this information and you give me a break on this story or you hold off on this story and I’ll make sure you get exclusives on a bigger story. It’s the same in PR and I can understand that rule for some of the time but not all of the time.
1. You have to re-enroll because the prices change +/- yearly and you might want to search around for a better deal.
2. Most things are leaked to gain a tactical advantage.
3. She might have been on the side of the Administration and she didn’t want their position to be shown in a negative light, by the way that administrator teaches a class in media.
My prices change all the time on my job. Rarely does my healthcare premium stay the same. I get the same opportunity to review other plans but if I want to stay with the same plan I can and I don’t have to do anything. This is where I think they could avoid the annoyance of having everyone re-enroll.
Donna, as you know, you don’t have to re-enroll for Medicare as well. This re-enrollment feature of ACA may be something a future Dem president and Congress can “fix,” but it sure as gravy isn’t changing until the House and Senate flip and we have the White House.
According to my son and son-in-law to be, one in NYC and one here in LA, neither had to re-enroll. They were automatically re=enroll as part of their state exchanges.
When I hit my second year of ACA, I did not have to re-enroll. In fact, my policy had been discontinued and replaced by another one oby the company (which was identical, just called something different and it was $70 cheaper!). I didn’t have to do anything if I wanted to keep that policy. If the policy had remained the same, I wouldn’t have to do anything to keep it. Has that changed? I know they are encouraging people to shop more carefully.
I did have to re-enroll for my portal at the insurance company, because the policy number and name had changed.
Okay that makes sense. I just remember last year that you all had to re-enroll so I was afraid that it was going to forever be that way. Thanks for updating me.

I know that there is freedom of speech.
There is No mandate for protesters to accommodate the News Media…..especially in 2015 when and where Social Media gives everyone at that University a choice in how they deploy their messages.
Honestly, the US News Media crying at the WH today is truly pathetic…….more like Ben Carson tactic.
Really. As if they don’t have the right to decide how and in what forum they want to have their individual stories told, if at all. Not everybody wahts to be in the spotlight, and frankly, we’ve seen how people’s lives get uprooted and in some cases ruined when they do seek that spotlight. I don’t blame them for being wanting to protect themselves. Ugh!
Don’t cha just love this man?!!!!!!
And it’s raining hard out there too. He’s gonna have to go get out of that wet suit, shirt, etc. (breath GGail, breath)
Flag Man… may be one of the best videos you’ll see this year. Never heard about this. What a fantastic story. There are so many good people out there - why do we only hear about the bad ones….
Blindspot Renewed for Season 2 at NBC
By Michael Ausiello / November 9 2015, 11:04 AM PST
Blindspot has a freshly-inked renewal deal to show off.
A mere two months into its launch, NBC has already picked up the rookie hit for a second season.
Blindspot thus far is averaging 8.7 million weekly viewers and a 2.4 rating — sometimes equaling the combined demo delivery for time slot rivals Castle and NCIS: LA. Those numbers grow to 12.7 mil and a 3.7 with best available DVR playback data.
“We are over the moon with the success of Blindspot, and want to thank our producers and amazing cast for creating one of the most riveting shows on television,” said Jennifer Salke, President of NBC Entertainment. “We literally can’t wait to see what the second season will bring.”
Blindspot is the first new fall series of the 2015-16 season to snag a Season 2 renewal.

I kinda had a thought like that this morning when I heard the trumped up drama. Trump said we should boycott Starbucks - even the ones in his buildings.
I shook my head this morning 57, when I heard the crowd cheering when he said that. I thought how stoooopid can you be to let this man insult you with this bullschit?
Brains of older people are slow because they know so much. People do not decline mentally with age, it just takes them longer to recall facts because they have more information in their brains, scientists believe. Much like a computer struggles as the hard drive gets full, so, too, do humans take longer to access information when their brains are full.
Researchers say this slowing down process is not the same as cognitive decline. The human brain works slower in old age, said Dr. Michael Ramscar, but only because we have stored more information over time. The brains of older people do not get weak. On the contrary, they simply know more.
Also, older people often go to another room to get something and when they get there, they stand there wondering what they came for. It is NOT a memory problem, it is nature’s way of making older people do more exercise.
SO THERE.
Now when I reach for a word or a name, I won’t excuse myself by saying “I’m having a senior moment”. Now, I’ll say, “My disk is full!”
I have more friends I should send this to, but right now I can’t remember their names.
So, please forward this to your friends; they may be my friends, too
Okay I’ve gotta go see this next weekend!!!

It’s an alternative universe, Gail, it really is.

I have relatives who believe this b.s. Do they not understand America at all?
Truly
