…this kind of carnage is not new to the world…Syria…Iraq…Nigeria….Palestine…go back in time..US slavery..the Inquisitions…the Salem Witch Hunts…the Crusades…and the list goes on and on….
i think of what feeds these groups…what feeds ISIS…Al Qaeda…the domestic terrorists in our country….
i listened to some of the broadcasts this morning….pumping up the fear….can this happen to us…will this happen to us….yet those same media pundits…promote the hate and fear being generated by the GOP presidential candidates…
but do not see the domestic terrorists targeting…blk folks …or understand the terror in the heart of every black person who is stopped by the police…
This is just one time that i am eternally grateful for our President…
We must not give into the politics of fear….
I am reminded of the President’s Nobel Peace Prize speech….

It makes me sick to think of the way that RW extremists and their so-called presidential candidates will exploit this tragedy and I swear to you I will hear some idiot-very likely in my own family-tell me that this is why they NEED a Republican president. I am going to go to a Christmas bazaar this morning because it’s a good, normal thing to do and will help me think of something positive for a few hours. The terrorists have now fine tuned these kinds of low cost, high impact warfare. Mumbai attack was the test ground for this kind of strategy and they have now carried it to more security conscious western nations. A totally different defensive mindset is needed to prevent such attacks and gathering of intelligence in secret is very important. The treasonous punks like snowden, wiki-leaks etc have to be dealt with severe punishment for leaking national security tactics and strategies.

PBO refused to kiss their asses and to shine and grin for them and expected them to do their jobs. In the early days PBO did throw a cocktail party and a super bowl party and the GOP refused to come. They even refused to show up for State Dinners. He and Michelle go their own way and do their own thing without looking to anyone else for permission or approbation (the so-called power brokers wanted an opportunity to slam the door in their faces and they are pissed that they have not had a chance to do this). They are not interested in these people and deal with them socially only when they have to.

In the wake of controversy of any kind, even terrorist attacks, U.S. politics is never far behind. The American political response- — from President Obama to the candidates vying to replace him — in the hours following the Paris attacks has been unsurprisingly split along party lines.
What is interesting, however, is that Democrats, who are set to debate Saturday night, have kept their responses generally to thoughts and prayers — with little in the way of policy prescriptions.
That’s understandable, given that a Democrat currently controls the White House and the candidates wouldn’t want to appear to undermine the current president of their own party, especially on matters of foreign affairs. But they will be pressed on foreign policy and national security as a result of the attacks at the outset of Saturday night’s debate, according to a source with knowledge of debate preparations.
Republicans, on the other hand, are issuing lots of policy specifics and ratcheting up rhetoric, intimating that what’s being done — and been done in the past seven years by President Obama — to keep the country safe is not enough. They are calling for increased U.S. footprint in the Middle East, including “boots on the ground,” a halting of plans to increase the numbers of Syrian refugees to the U.S., and an increase in the role of the National Security Agency in surveillance and intelligence-gathering capabilities.

I understand that the U.S. Is scheduled to take in thousands of Syrian refugees beginning next week. I can imagine the squawking that is about to take place. I realize that these attacks change everything and we must proceed with caution, but I really feel for these people. They’re gonna catch hell no matter which country they’re in. As usual, they will be blamed for the actions of the extremists, the very people they’re trying to escape from.
