…this kind of carnage is not new to the world…Syria…Iraq…Nigeria….Palestine…go back in time..US slavery..the Inquisitions…the Salem Witch Hunts…the Crusades…and the list goes on and on….
i think of what feeds these groups…what feeds ISIS…Al Qaeda…the domestic terrorists in our country….
i listened to some of the broadcasts this morning….pumping up the fear….can this happen to us…will this happen to us….yet those same media pundits…promote the hate and fear being generated by the GOP presidential candidates…
but do not see the domestic terrorists targeting…blk folks …or understand the terror in the heart of every black person who is stopped by the police…
This is just one time that i am eternally grateful for our President…
We must not give into the politics of fear….
I am reminded of the President’s Nobel Peace Prize speech….
PF, when the media and RW candidates play up the fear, they are acting as handmaidens to the terrorists. They are doing exactly what the terror groups hope-make people afraid, disrupt life, precipitate over-the-top reactions that will bring about the kind of cataclysmic war they crave. For all their so-called flag waving, the media behaves exactly as traitors would.
Morning all and thanks, Chips, for such a loving photo after the horror of last night. It makes me sick to think of the way that RW extremists and their so-called presidential candidates will exploit this tragedy and I swear to you I will hear some idiot-very likely in my own family-tell me that this is why they NEED a Republican president. I am going to go to a Christmas bazaar this morning because it’s a good, normal thing to do and will help me think of something positive for a few hours. I pray that our President has a safe trip and spreads his healing intelligence over troubled waters. Thank God for him.
President Obama speaks directly to the people of Burundi urging them to put aside the language of hate and division and to build a peaceful and stronger country.
FRANCE IS ON MY MIND TODAY SO IT IS DIFFICULT TO SAY ‘GOOD MORNING’ BECAUSE SO MANY AREN’T…I PRAY FOR THE LOST AND THE COMFORT OF THEIR FAMILIES…I PRAY FOR MY PRESIDENT …HIS JOURNEY IS ON MY MIND TOO TODAY..I PRAY FOR HIS SAFETY…STRENGTH AND COMFORT. WE WILL BE TAKING THIS PUTER IN LATER TODAY FOR A SECURITY FIX…AND HOPEFULLY BRING IT BACK TODAY. MINE IS FRIED. THIS IS MY SPOUSE’S PUTER. WE WILL LOOK AT AN AREA TO PERHAPS RENT IN TODAY…AND WAIT FOR THE CABLE GUY TO FIX MY TV LATER…TIS’ NOT WORKING..AND ALL OF THESE LITTLE DIFFICULTIES ARE SO MINOR IN COMPARISON TO THE LIVES WE HAVE LOST BECAUSE OF EXTREMISM …FEAR AND HATRED…SHAME ON US…I LOVE MY ENERGIIZER PRESIDENT…LIGHT UP THOSE SHOES AND PRESS ON!..HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL!
The terrorists have now fine tuned these kinds of low cost, high impact warfare. Mumbai attack was the test ground for this kind of strategy and they have now carried it to more security conscious western nations. A totally different defensive mindset is needed to prevent such attacks and gathering of intelligence in secret is very important. The treasonous punks like snowden, wiki-leaks etc have to be dealt with severe punishment for leaking national security tactics and strategies.
amk, you are right in that a totally different defensive mindset it needed. I just hope our next President has the right kind of temperament that will allow us to deal effectively with this type of barbarism.
The rw thugs will beat the war drums 24×7 very loudly till the elections (think of ebola, ben ghazi) and the fifth columnist media wurlitzers will amplify their noise. I am not confident that hillz will stand up against all that out attack.
Well-said, amk. Those idiots on Twitter calling Snowden “hero,” let’s see how much love they have for him when one of theirs gets injured or God forbid, killed in one of those senseless terrorist attacks.
Morning (or evening) folks! I’m online (& in-village) trying to catch up on some of what I missed while working this past week. The news seems to be a mixed bag so I’ll be quietly trying to absorb most of it.
Check out George Takei’s facebook post on unspeakably horrendous Paris attacks downstream. (Immediately thought of you, glad to see you here this morning.)
You can only pin your own tweet. On the tweet you want to pin, click on the “…” button. It comes after the retweet and like button. So Judith Miller think the black students at Mizzu were being just spoil whiners. Do she think Rosa Park ,Dr. King, and all those blacks who fought with them and before them were whiners too.
Maybe the U.S. should send Ben Carson to Syria to thwart ISIS? Maybe he can stab them or go after them with a hammer or something ? I don’t know?
The fact is it looks like ground forces will be deployed in large numbers in Syria and Iraq.
It looks like it will be a coalition… It looks like Europe, instead of mothballing their military, will be spear heading the attack, bc they are directly involved.
It looks like this will be a huge issue in 2016, maybe overtaking the economy as number one issue.
All those who want to send troops to Syria, tell them to put on the uniform and be prepare to go. The U.S. is not the answer to everything, invading Iraq show us that.
This is the time for Trump to serve, since he dodge the last time he had that chance. Trump has two sons. Don’t be so dam eager to send some poor folks kid to war, again and again and again.

Let us remember that post-NSA leaks there was evidence pointing that terror cells begin to exchange data differently because of that treasonous Snowden.
So if a person was on twitter falling in love with Glenn Greenwald, Edward Snowden and pleading for these “heroes” sit your ass down for the rest of the day, or the rest of your life for that matter.
Would More Dinner and Golf Solve Washington’s Problems? Ray LaHood Thinks So
November 14, 2025 5:03 AM ET
excerpt:
This line of thinking frustrates Dartmouth political scientist Brendan Nyhan, who has written extensively about what he calls “a totemic obsession” that many Washington leaders have with the idea of bipartisanship.
Nyhan even has a theory for the wine-and-dine bipartisan outreach approach that LaHood argues for: The Green Lantern Theory of the Presidency.
“The idea that if the president only tried hard enough, he can get whatever it is he wants. It’s based on the powers of a comic book hero,” Nyhan explains. “If he only tried harder, if he only reached out more, if he only did this, that, or the other thing to appeal to Republicans, they would eventually fall at his feet and agree to his requests. There’s just very little evidence to suggest that’s the case.”
MonieTalks
You have to laugh at this “wine and dine theory” considering that the GOP loses their shit when PBO even rides in AF One like every other President has or FLOTUS takes a trip. If he had even bothered to have such gatherings, they would have complained that he was spending taxpayer monies for shindigs while regular ‘Muricans can’t even afford food. And the MSM would have had orgasms writing those stories..front page on every newspaper.
Even a so-called decent member of the GOP will always carry an allegiance to their party because white supremacy is at the crux of it and they know it. PBO has shaken them to the core. Yet liberals still busy claiming naiveté and spreading their gospel about the failure of PBO…such punks
PBO refused to kiss their asses and to shine and grin for them and expected them to do their jobs. They hate him because he is not their idea of who and what a Black man is; someone that they can control, someone who is beholden to them someone who hangs on their every word and tries to do everything he can to be part of their group. In the early days PBO did throw a cocktail party and a super bowl party and the GOP refused to come. They even refused to show up for State Dinners. He is too smart to beat a dead horse so he has gone around them to get things done. He and Michelle go their own way and do their own thing without looking to anyone else for permission or approbation (the so-called power brokers wanted an opportunity to slam the door in their faces and they are pissed that they have not had a chance to do this). They are not interested in these people and deal with them socially only when they have to.
:):):) Kudos to our POTUS & FLOTUS for being themselves and not succumbing to the wine and dine tradition.
I am soooo proud of them for their position!!! The very idea that these **paid** operators won’t do their jobs with integrity unless you wine and dine them is …. disgusting!
Don’t forget about the sexual element, the black buck with his sexual prowess. They imagine President Obama walking around the inner sanctum of the White House with his manhood almost touching the floor.
and of course the media…loved to tout when the GOP refused to come…blaming the President…comparing him to Clinton….and then when he didn’t hob nob with the GOP…or with some of the so called high ranking DEMs they said he was aloof…
Ray LaHood sound like an Republican who want to blame President Obama for the B.S. the right wing Republicans are to blame for. When people are selling books they will say anything.
Ray LaHood just couldn’t help himself, like reflex he resorts back to being a half-ass Republican hack trying his best to get back in the good graces of party that is hell bent on fucking this country up.
Don’t all these attacks finally end up as economic targets? Tunisia, Egypt, Kenya, Srilanka are some of the tourism countries that lost economically because of terrorism.
But people who live on the edge of fear don’t perceive restaurants, sports and concert venues in economic impact terms, they’re places they routinely visit for entertainment, not for commerce.
U.S. Political Reaction To Paris Attacks Split Along Party Lines
November 14, 2025 12:17 AM ET
In the wake of controversy of any kind, even terrorist attacks, U.S. politics is never far behind. The American political response- — from President Obama to the candidates vying to replace him — in the hours following the Paris attacks has been unsurprisingly split along party lines.
What is interesting, however, is that Democrats, who are set to debate Saturday night, have kept their responses generally to thoughts and prayers — with little in the way of policy prescriptions.
That’s understandable, given that a Democrat currently controls the White House and the candidates wouldn’t want to appear to undermine the current president of their own party, especially on matters of foreign affairs. But they will be pressed on foreign policy and national security as a result of the attacks at the outset of Saturday night’s debate, according to a source with knowledge of debate preparations.
Republicans, on the other hand, are issuing lots of policy specifics and ratcheting up rhetoric, intimating that what’s being done — and been done in the past seven years by President Obama — to keep the country safe is not enough. They are calling for increased U.S. footprint in the Middle East, including “boots on the ground,” a halting of plans to increase the numbers of Syrian refugees to the U.S., and an increase in the role of the National Security Agency in surveillance and intelligence-gathering capabilities.
Yes, because some of their supporters seem to think the Presidency is how many donors your campaign gets, or how many “watch parties” during a debate, how many retweets a selfie with Kanye/Kim gets…
I re-watched the President’s acceptance speech of the Nobel Peace Prize…i listened to his vision behind his foreign Policy and how it relates to War & Peace…at the debates tonight I will be listening to Clinton….O’Malley….and Sanders …for their vision…not just stop-gap answers to question …but what is their VISION…

Before leaving for Saturday errands, be aware of these inaccuracies in tweets about #ParisAttacks (I’ve seen some posted here at TOD):
And this is why RWNJ/GOP/MSM planting terrorism fear works so well:
I guess the World Trade Centers were an economic target for AQ.
Don’t all these attacks finally end up as economic targets? Tunisia, Egypt, Kenya, Srilanka are some of the tourism countries that lost economically because of terrorism.
