      if PBO had criticized the students, that would be all over the news with other outlets hyping them up - seems that George S was also fishing for criticism;

      these comments, will probably appear on the ABC platforms only

    Notice how the MSM is trying their darndest to blame PBO for the Paris attacks in some way shape or form, but hardly a peep from them about Snowden’s role in giving would-be terrorists the upper hand by revealing intel’s methods?

    That GOP-sympathizing Dickerson, instead of him last night trying to get the candidates to blame/attack PBO for saying that ISIS has been contained (which is not even the entirety of what he said), he should have instead focused them on the info that came out about the new strategies of the terrorists in avoiding using phones/computers – thanks to Snowden’s revelations…that was far more consequential than anything PBO said or did 12 hrs before.

      I don’t see why anyone would believe that President Obama is to blame for anything that has happened in Paris. That’s just plain silly. The MSM for some strange reason is pushing for a Republican to win next November. That’s just how it’s beginning to feel. They’ve been very soft on Republican candidates and harsh on our President and Democratic candidates. It’s frustrating.

        Not for a strange reason - the MSM is OWNED by the GOP. GE owns NBC, Viacom owns CBS, and so on. It’s not a theory.

        It’s a consequence of the Telecommunications Act of 1996.

    it will be incumbent upon all of us to push back and ensure that the attacks in Paris are not used to push people into a fearful, intolerant frenzy that victimizes every one who looks different;

    we all so from the Ebola hysteria how quickly the media can aid, hate-filled opportunistic politicians, to loose any semblance of common sense

    • 52 jackiegrumbacher
      November 15, 2025 at 9:40 am

      And the way to push back, global, is to be armed with facts and remain calm in the face of emotionalism. TOD does a great job of keeping us all informed and we need to use that information and what we learn through other good and credible sources to fight back. We’ve all got family and social events coming up during the holidays, which almost always include encounters with some infuriating people. It’s just as important to be prepared with solid information as it is to get the apple pie baking right.

        November 15, 2025 at 10:18 am

        yes, good information is key;

        and for some of us, we need extra prayers to remain patient when explaining these facts to people who may not want to hear the truth

        November 15, 2025 at 10:30 am

        yes, facts are indeed vital;

        and for some of us, we may need special prayers sent up so that we do not loose our patience when explaining these facts to people who do not want to hear them - because they have already been influenced by the echo-chamber

    Good morning, TOD! My heart is much lighter this morning; my Senegalese friends have checked in — son who lives in Paris is safe and sound, so all of my Parisian connections are ok. Now, my only concern is for the Beirut family of my local pizza shop owner; when I swing by there, I hope to hear his family is safe and sound. The downside of having a cadré of international friends is to be in a constant state of worry anytime there is a tragedy (man-made or natural disaster)…

    from last night…

            “It is long past time for the oligarchies of the Gulf states to stop paying protection to the men in the suicide belts. Their societies are stunted and parasitic. The main job of the elites there is to find enough foreign workers to ensla…er…indenture to do all the real work. The example of Qatar and the interesting business plan through which that country is building the facilities for the 2022 World Cup is instructive here. Roughly the same labor-management relationship exists for the people who clean the hotel rooms and who serve the drinks. In Qatar, for people who come from elsewhere to work, passports have been known to disappear into thin air. These are the societies that profit from terrible and tangled web of causation and violence that played out on the streets of Paris. These are the people who buy their safety with the blood of innocents far away.”
