MP, didn’t get a chance to comment last night about your daughter. The statement she made after learning about her stroke diagnosis just blew me away. What a remarkable and courageous woman, just like her mom. I will be sending her positive thoughts and prayers, but I’m betting that an indomitable spirit like hers will triumph in the end.
<3 Thank you, jg, and all who have sent up Light and Prayer. Jackie, I know you are right about her, and as I walk alongside her through this experience, I am lifted up by her determination and spiritual strength. She will be fine, her goal is to be even better than ever, and to never waver from doing what is right and good for her health, on all levels. I am in awe of her, again! As always. <3
Good afternoon, TOD! Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! When I posted this tweet earlier in the week, I didn’t think about the upcoming holiday; I’m just grateful for this warm welcoming place where we share ideas, knowledge, laughter, tears, joys, and pains. Thank you one and all!
Dear @TheObamaDiary Family: Thanks for making me "better!" pic.twitter.com/XPcv6VI3hj
Bobfr I want to wish you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving. I’m so grateful that you are here at TOD. I have learned so much about what is happening overseas from your comments and your tweets, on the sidebar, that I get no where else.
Happy Thanksgiving all. I am thankful that even though most of my family are celebrating with the other side of their families I will be meeting with five family members at a midpoint restaurant for our celebration. I am thankful that my hip replacement surgery was successful and since I am on driving restrictions my Brother is taking me today. I am thankful for this inclusive supportive site. I am thankful for our First Family and our excellent President.
Not only: as I logged of FB, I saw a new notice that scientists have detected what looks like a mouse on Mars. Okay. Any comments to the direction my thoughts are going?? It is definitely time for a cuppa Yorkshire. Definitely. I have no question God has a sense of humor!! :)<3:bear:
I guess someone was really anxious to spend Thanksgiving in a DC jail, Bella. Hope he finds his cell cold and uncomfortable and his dinner unappetizing.
What is so appreciative about TOD is that it represents that noble portion of the USA that is kind, compassionate, reflective, educational, supportive, respectful of differences, sane, humorous and just humane. I no longer watch America’s msm, although that’s predominantly what we get in the Caribbean; I simply log in to TOD and lurk away. Thanks Chips. Thanks everyone. You are appreciated.
For those of us who run around trying to make everything perfect for the Thanksgiving feast, here’s Julia Child’s no fuss, no nonsense take. She served appetizers straight out of the box, store bought pie (one kind) and didn’t bother with turkey stuffing. She said cooking should always be a joy, not a chore.
Happy Thanksgiving to Chips, the creator of this wonderful place to gather, and to all TOD family, those who post, comment, and lurk. The first place I go to every day, starts my day out on the right foot. SO is the cook today, has invited an extra for dinner, single man, life history with many challenges. This fellow said had not been to a Thanksgiving dinner in 30 years, not since grandparents died, brought a tear to SO and my eye, so now preparations have to be perfect according to SO. Will be a special Thanksgiving dinner today.
Happy Thanksging! Yesterday, President Obama, the First Lady, daughters Sasha and Malia, and Marian Robinson served food during a service project at Friendship Place.
Just had to post this, especially since I detest the commercialism of #BlackFriday ….
“Our friends at Zappos, the happiest place in the world for online shopping, in collaboration with Best Friends Animal Society, have turned the Black Friday shopping weekend into a giving bonanza for homeless pets!
Zappos is underwriting the adoption fees for more than 150 participating Best Friends No More Homeless Pets Network partners around the country from Black Friday, November 27, through Cyber Monday, November 30. That means that Zappos will be picking up the adoption fee for your new pet if you visit one of the listed partners between Friday and Monday. For each adoption through Best Friends or our Network partners, Zappos will also donate $150 to Best Friends to help cover the cost of food, medical care, immunizations, training and more for animals in our care awaiting homes. The total donation amount, including adoption fees, is a maximum of $1.1 million.”
On the blog: @Zappos is covering adoption fees at Best Friends and 150+ Network partner shelters on Nov 27-30: https://t.co/ArP6LZfflj! ^AM

And, the kind of movie recommendation ya gotta heed ….
Lots of things in this world ain't right. But Ryan Coogler's voice is a wonderful, right thing. Catch CREED. Enjoy. pic.twitter.com/ZYTlc4qoTu
I’d read about the Zappos offer and if I lived anywhere near one of the partners I would have been there adopting a dog. Tess died three years ago and I miss her a lot.
I JUST ARRIVED HOME AND AM SORRY TO HEAR THE WH HAD A JUMPER…JUST SOMEONE WHO WANTED TO MESS WITH PBO’S DAY… AND THE WH AGENDA….LEAVE IT TO PBO TO SPEND TIME ON THE PHONE WITH TROOPS…..CARRY ON AND DON’T WORRY ABOUT THE GUACAMOLE STAINS ON THE THROW PILLOWS!…:)
There is an awful lot of music associated with the Christmas holiday. But when it comes to Thanksgiving…not so much. If you’re anything like me, the one song you grew up singing on this holiday was “Over the river and through the woods, to grandmother’s house we go.” But until this week, I never knew anything about the origins of that song.
It comes from a poem written in 1844 by a woman named Lydia Marie Child.
………………………………
So if you happen to hear her song today, take a bit of courage from someone who fought against the white male patriarchy of her day…decades ahead of her time.
I am so very grateful for Chips for making and maintaining this place of refuge, connection and information. I am also grateful to Nerdy Wonka and all of the other BTs and contributors who do such thoughtful and informative posts every day. I am thankful for each and every participant here at TOD for bringing clips, tweets, articles, pics and links, keeping me and everyone else who visits or lurks here informed on our President, our government, our country and the world.
Lots of love to each and every one of you, whether you eat Turkey or Tofu, jelllied or whole cranberry sauce; whether you watch football or football (see what I did there? :-) ) Have a wonderful Day!
PBO’s weekly address was beautiful, tying the current refugee crisis to the tradition of Thanksgiving.
Also, Stephen was funny about the PPP poll showing Repubs not approving of him pardoning Turkeys:
Thought you might want to ask Santa to put these in your stocking this Christmas :-)
“Using a classic candy making process, Heather Kelly creates edible works of art in these planetary lollipops. A three-step process of encapsulating images in a confectionery blend results in ten distinct lollipops and flavors that are visually out of this world: Each planet and the sun gets it’s own flavor: blackberry, cherry, cotton candy, guava, marshmallow, pear, key lime, strawberry/kiwi, mango, and tropical punch. Gift to your favorite science geek or treat yourself to your very own taste of the galaxy. Handmade in Clarendon Hills, Illinois.”
Happy Thanksgiving to my wonderful fabulous fierce TOD family. You are my sanctuary from the political crazy and mean and hateful. I love you all. I hope everyone has a safe and joyous day day.
<3
Happy Thanksgiving MP and Chips.
Whew, COS, I was getting a wee tad bit nervous, having to hold up the thread on my lonesome. ;) Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA H AH AH
They can……..G’day y’all. have a Happy Thanksgiving……..Count your blessings!
My favorite episode…..
I’d forgotten about WKRP! That was LOL funny!
Love that show! Love that episode!
It wouldn’t be Thanksgiving if Brother Mark wasn’t there to give us the White House menu….
Sounds like my menu, except one kind of pie..
Bella, I read somewhere that PBO likes banana cream pie, so I’m betting that’s one of the six. I hope he enjoys every bite.
I read the menu and the six pies are banana cream pie, coconut creme pie, pecan pie, apple pie, cherry pie, pumpkin pie. What no sweet potato pie.
He could just skip to the important part: 6 kinda of pie.
;)
Yup, yup! :)

Yes, everything is fine. Normal, “life 101,” first world issues — so everything is FINE!
If he only knew!
Sometimes it’s best to be silent.
AMEN!
Roger that, pkayden!!
Happy Thanksgiving dear TODers!!! And, sailor, thanks for the laughs!!!!

Ahem.

Have you heard that someone jump the fence at the White House. They got the person.
I guess someone was really anxious to spend Thanksgiving in a DC jail, Bella. Hope he finds his cell cold and uncomfortable and his dinner unappetizing.
I think the SS should block off the street and no one should be able to get near that fence. I am so tired of people jumping that fence.
