As I explain to folk, even those who don’t want to listen - if you just focus on 1 fact, that today more than 1.5 BILLION people live within 5 miles of a Coast Line and then realize that that 1.5 BILLION people could, within the next decade or 2, be REFUGEES due to the rise in Ocean levels, you cannot escape the NATIONAL SECURITY, let alone, humanitarian scale of catastrophe that reality represents.
Just look at the scale of challenge 2 MILLION Syrian refugees is. Then, imagine 1500+ MILLION global refugees (btw, several millions of whom live in NY, NJ, NC, FL, TX, CA, OR & WA).

The US News Media is Complicit and their duplicity, that is what has produced a cynical Public and a brazen GOPers in their endless willingness to dupe, lie, distort and invent lies 24/7.
Candy Crowley and Chuck Todd both stated publicly that it was Not the Job of Journos to point out the lies. Heck, Chuck Todd in 2012 was the 1st to tweet out talking points for GOPers when POTUS was quoted out of context on You Didn’t build that. The GOPers ran with that and built their 3 days Convention on You Didn’t Build That. Romney earned over 39 pants on fire from Politifact…….yet the US News Media looked the other way.
This drives me absolutely bonkers! It’s not vigilantism, it’s journalism. How do they not know this? Why use the negative question, as if there’s something wrong with doing what readers expect you to do — figure out the facts. There was another similar question posed by the Times before this one, and there was such a firestorm (including me!) they closed down the comments and said the question was misunderstood. Right! If I were prone to despair, this would be one of the ways I’d get there.

Where were this kids parents in all of this, and if it took this situation to make this kid turn his back on conservatism, why wasn’t he championing the cause of Liberalism or the Progressive Movement? Paul Ryan is not the budget expert that the GOP and media promotes him to be. However, he’s a hell more clever than John Boehner. My heart sank when I realized Ryan would be named Speaker because I knew it meant some trouble. More nastiness, more dirty games. Ryan is mean and dislikes the president. Boehner is an old school politician but he’s not really mean and he likes the president. Boehner is a better human being than Ryan is. And I suspect President Obama much prefers John Boehner as a person than Paul Ryan. Sigh.

A few days before the dinner she was advocating no fly zones in Syria and sending more American troops in.
Her opponent is a cranky guy with a foreign policy that sounds more like Ron Paul then the (D) party. (D) choices are bleak and seeing them more is unlikely to improve matters.
In contrast—-today’s news is agog with some endorsement Christie got.

In 2012 the GOP erred in predicting a Romney win. Some RW voters got complacent.
They won’t make the same mistake twice.
