I agree. Until the RWNJ’s get out of office, this will continue and unfortunately, people vote Republican not even equating what the Party stands for with what they want to accomplish.
Heh. Some helpful Tweeter barged into my mentions to call me a dickbag because I employ gallows humor to deal with horror. Kindly told her to go fuck off and blocked her.
How long till this is treated with the same urgency as Terrorists attacking Paris? Why does the US media continues to lower the threat these Terrorists represent? Business as usual….
There should be a massive outcry from the public right now! that the media reports this as what they are: Domestic Terrorism.
..then maybe, just maybe these lawmakers will feel the pressure and make changes in some of these laws.
Oho, I didn’t connect you worked/lived in Pasadena; this must be somewhat nerve-wracking! Glad to hear you are safe.

My first thought on entering the village to CC’s stark comment was ‘What!!! Not another one!’, because sadly I knew right away as soon as I read those words. Sigh.
Yes, our local station, KTLA5 is giving good updates.
Yes, there are alternate routes, but without knowing where they are hold up, it’s difficult to determine the safe route.
But let’s worry when we get to that point. Thanks sweetie (((hugs)))
Parliament in the UK is voting shortly (or now) on whether the UK will enter the air war in Syria. A big deal. Labour is strenuously voting “No” but we will see if David Cameron prevails.
There’s a big split in Labour on this Vicki, anywhere between 40 and 90 are expected to rebel against Corbyn and vote with the government - Corbyn had no choice but to allow a free vote, the whip was unenforceable. Not sure his leadership will ever recover from this, a deeply split party.
I find it amazing, though - after the Blair/Iraq debacle, Labour had become a seriously anti-war party, and here are 67 of them voting for another ‘intervention’. Very different, I know, to Iraq, but still didn’t think that many would vote for it. Looks like there are a whole heap of Blairites still in that party!
I have cousins in Pasadena. Family was able to get in touch with them and they are okay. My thoughts are with your family Yardarm. I just heard that the Killer(s) are on the loose.
Thanks yard for checking on me. Jojo lives in Pasadena and I believe HZ does too. Lets say a prayer that we all remain safe from hurt, harm or danger <3
Thanks Jojo. I am fine so far. My brother checked on me as well. I pray that Yardarm, and Donna’s family members are safe., Jojo and GGail and all of our family members be safe and alert. I love you all so much.HZ
Even more puzzling is the national response, or lack there of. It even seems like everyone is going out of their way to say it is not terror related. wow…..
The sad fact is that once Democrats stayed home in 2010 and 2014, there was never going to any rational gun legislation from the US Congress. “Staying home” also got us right wing governance in 30 states. Unless we all start speaking up loudly and in unison and unless those who want sensible gun legislation actually go out and vote, we are facing a bleak future. No venue is safe-not our schools, nor our shopping centers, or our places of entertainment, or our cars or our homes. Because too many people neglected their obligations as citizens, we now live and will continue to live in a country in which anyone with a grievance can kill us. As President Obama said, this is not normal and it occurs in no other country on earth. Democrats aren’t perfect, but they try to govern with a ear to the people. Republicans are accountable to no one but big money. This US is now held hostage to the greed and cowardice of those Republican extremists who were elected to Congress in two disastrous waves. They are literally killing this country and they could care less.
Very scary situation indeed, with the killers on the loose — heard the news conference on the radio, and it sounds like it’s gonna take SBPD awhile to get a handle on the situation because of lack of resources (I know the Feds have been called in, but this can’t help):
#SanBernardino is the poorest city of its size in California, 2nd in US, in 4th year of bankruptcy. A recent series: https://t.co/nlT0r5UuJ1

CA has some of the strictest gun regulations in the US, so don’t know if lack of gun safety regulation is a factor in this shocking event.
Jackie - your statement is incisive. Everyone of us with a Democratic Representative and/or Senator(s) should email this to them and demand passage of gun sense legislation. The brouhaha over trumped-up threats from refugees is a big smokescreen to distract the easily spooked public away from domestic terrorism and to pump up gun sales. Hideous!
Mankind has shown several time over centuries how we’re capable of beauty …but also cruelty. Our political system is broken, the majority of the citizen demand better and stronger gun safety measures. and yet nothing gets done in Congress.
Had a dental appointment, got in the chair everything seemed to be okay. An hour and a half later I got out the chair and a mass shooting had taken place. At this point in time the best you can hope for is that you aren’t around when someone is trying to make a point.
Nothing won’t be done, if seeing 20 five and six year old being kill didn’t touch Republicans and some Democrats hearts nothing will. Those Republicans, those Democrats, the NRA are a disgrace.
Absolutely…..all about the $$. Whether it is trump or the you lie, or this, there seems to be no boundaries to this Media we have. Nothing is sacred. Kids could be watching…..wow!
Being in school all day, (and into the evening), I didn’t hear about this until I left at about 7:30. I was listening to a religious program and heard the host say something about the tragedy in San Bernadino. My first thought was - I hope it’s a mudslide or some other natural disaster. Not that a natural disaster would be better, exactly. I just didn’t want it to be another shooter. We have worn out the words people use on these occasions: horrible, tragic, terrible, horrific, we’ve used them so much they have no impact, no meaning any more. No shock, really, just a dull sense of inevitability.
Never in this country. Unfortunately! :(
I think you’re right, {{Donna}}
This was the USA’s priority on the day after giving thanks last Friday.
Good gawd almighty.
I agree. Until the RWNJ’s get out of office, this will continue and unfortunately, people vote Republican not even equating what the Party stands for with what they want to accomplish.
It will end when we vote OUT every NRA supporter.
or, as Chips and Donna put it, never.
Very “exceptional” country, all right. Just not in any positive way.
MSNBC live is reporting ONE active shooter.
Heh. Some helpful Tweeter barged into my mentions to call me a dickbag because I employ gallows humor to deal with horror. Kindly told her to go fuck off and blocked her.
HOW did the Domestic Terrorists get their guns to kill the disabled?
For real ….
# Ebola deaths 1, yes, 1—an unfortunate man who went to a Texas hospital and the hospital sent him home.
BBC live feed has updates without sensationalism.

Want an up-close look at American Terrorist ENABLERS …..
Keep in mind that the bill should have passed. A majority of the Sen. voted for the bill.
Mass shootings? Please call it Terrorism!
Unreal…. May they all be safe.
Now a possible Pasadena connection?
Don’t just pray for change - scream to your Congress people to MAKE A CHANGE
YES! Hold Congress accountable for ignoring the biggest public health crisis in the US.
Judith, I agree - it is a public health crisis!!!
My son just sent me a text to be careful because the Yukon vehicle has been abandoned here in Pasadena.
This is to let you all know that I am safe and will be cautious when leaving this evening. {{{{hugs}}}}
Is “cautious’ sufficient, GGail? Maybe stay home until this is resolved. We do not want to lose you.
amen.
Get home safely GGail. I assume you are at work. Please let us know once you are home.
Thanks everyone - yes, I’m at work in Pasadena and I live in Monrovia which is between Pasadena and San Bernardino.
If you have a cot in your office, think about which is safer - staying put or driving home.
Please be safe Gail.
Oho, I didn’t connect you worked/lived in Pasadena; this must be somewhat nerve-wracking! Glad to hear you are safe.

Thanks vc, so far so good.
I’ll be watching the news reports as it gets closer to the time I leave at 4:30pm PST
Are they giving good updates, and do you have a good quick alternate route home if necessary?
Yes, our local station, KTLA5 is giving good updates.
Yes, there are alternate routes, but without knowing where they are hold up, it’s difficult to determine the safe route.
But let’s worry when we get to that point. Thanks sweetie (((hugs)))

{{GGAI}}, please be safe.

Yes. Going to war is popular. Corbyn had no chance in this one.
I find it amazing, though - after the Blair/Iraq debacle, Labour had become a seriously anti-war party, and here are 67 of them voting for another ‘intervention’. I’m scared shitless….I have cousins living there and Pasadena too.
I have cousins in Pasadena. Family was able to get in touch with them and they are okay. My thoughts are with your family Yardarm. I just heard that the Killer(s) are on the loose.
I just talked to mine too…..I think gail lives out there too.
Thanks yard for checking on me. Jojo lives in Pasadena and I believe HZ does too. Lets say a prayer that we all remain safe from hurt, harm or danger <3
Have u got jojo’s number?
I’ve been in contact with her and she’s safe.
Good!
GA GGail.
I think it’s over.
See Nena’s post below.
Apparently the video is 2-3 miles NE from the original massacre site, so whichever media reported that an SUV was abandoned in Pasadena was incorrect.
Thanks Jojo. I am fine so far. My brother checked on me as well. I pray that Yardarm, and Donna’s family members are safe., Jojo and GGail and all of our family members be safe and alert. I love you all so much.HZ
The NRA must be eradicated!
Up to 14 dead and up to 14 injured. 3 people came in an opened fire. SUV was their method of escape. Search continues.
Terrorist Incident? They can’t say. No one in custody.
About the shooting today:
You don’t HAPPEN upon a place like this.
You PLAN to come to a place like this.
You PLAN to come with a DEATH WEAPON to kill people at a place like this.
Please explain to me….WHAT THESE PEOPLE COULD HAVE DONE TO YOU TO OFFEND YOU SO MUCH THAT YOU COME HERE TO MURDER.
Even more puzzling is the national response, or lack there of. It even seems like everyone is going out of their way to say it is not terror related. wow…..
RIP
One thing is sure………this is not a mental health issue.
14 dead…….
words said with no emotions….almost as if it is business as usual.
So, this happened.

Freddie Gray proceedings, worth a look.

I think they were probably from out of state.
GA what makes you think they are from out of state?
Apparently the report that suspect vehicle was abandoned in Pasadena was wrong.
Hideous!
British parliament votes to launch airstrikes in Syria.
67 Labour MPs voted for the airstrikes and against their own leader, amazing.
Thank you for the update, Chips.

Indeed.
Nothing won’t be done, if seeing 20 five and six year old being kill didn’t touch Republicans and some Democrats hearts nothing will. Those Republicans, those Democrats, the NRA are a disgrace.
Just how broken is our political system?
These politicians are bought and paid for by the NRA.
@Bella, I think these politicians are more interested in keeping their jobs(making $$) than doing the right thing for the people.
I agree with that too. There is no need to have any respect for cowardly Dems who vote with those horrible Republicans.
Let us take time to send our Thanks and gratitudes to the Officers on site right now. May they be safe.
Maybe the victims and their families should be the first focus of our concern. Just a thought.
Very strange to watch all of this…..is this a bad movie? Shouldn’t the Media stop reporting on this and let the officers do their jobs?
Where are they?
I clicked on livestream, and there’s now a (dead?) body.
And the press is trolling for as much blood and gore they can wring out of every word……attempting to make news instead of reporting it. - smh
Absolutely…..all about the $$. Whether it is trump or the you lie, or this, there seems to be no boundaries to this Media we have. Nothing is sacred. Kids could be watching…..wow!
In search of a Pulitzer.
There is a suspect wounded in the middle of a street
I’m watching real time video from a chopper.
The press is ORGASMIC!

Even sadder is how one party remains quiet in these times due to their allegiance to the nra.
