A girl asks her boyfriend to come over Friday night to meet, and have dinner with her parents.
Since this is such a big event, the girl announces to her boyfriend that after dinner, she would like to go out and make love for the first time.
The boy is ecstatic, but he has never had sex before, so he takes a trip to the pharmacist to get some
condoms. He tells the pharmacist it’s his first time and the pharmacist helps the boy for about an hour. He tells the boy everything there is to know about condoms and sex.
At the register, the pharmacist asks the boy how many condoms he’d like to buy, a 3-pack, 10-pack, or family pack. The boy insists on the family pack because he thinks he will be rather busy, it being his first time and all.
That night, the boy shows up at the girl’s parents house and meets his girlfriend at the door.
“Oh, I’m so excited for you to meet my parents, come on in!”
The boy goes inside and is taken to the dinner table where the girl’s parents are seated. The boy quickly offers to say grace and bows his head. A minute passes, and the boy is still deep in prayer, with his head
down. 10 minutes pass, and still no movement from the boy. Finally, after 20 minutes with his head down, the
girlfriend leans over and whispers to the boyfriend, “I had no idea you were this religious.”
The boy turns, and whispers back, “I had no idea your father was the pharmacist.” - GN

looking at the photo of the cadets in the Citadel (impersonating the KKK) and I am wondering:
- isn’t that a man at the front who looks older (and wearing the academy’s jumper/shirt)? even he couldn’t caution the rest about what they were doing and instead he appears to be celebrating “the achievement”;
- it must have taken time to make the outfits (including piercing holes in the pillows used as head gear). during all this time, not a single one of these cadets stop to think about the cruelty of their actions and how this could affect their future?;
once again I recall PBO’s words in SC funeral for the victims of the church massacre : “what are we doing to cause some of our children to hate ?”

My Nickelby could use positive energy and prayers today. He has a growth on the rim of his eye. It is a delicate surgery. I’m very nervous. Hopefully it isn’t cancer, but the surgery itself is not going to be fun.
He’s an older guy, he has chronic bronchitis which complicates things. We are unsure about the extent of his recovery. We could use a dose of TOD good thoughts.
December 22 (if not sooner) my little Kasper undergoes bladder surgery to remove bladder stones. I’ll be imposing on TOD for thoughts and prayers then, too!
Thank God I’m one hell of a doggie nurse, but two at once? God help me.
We never had children. We rescue dogs. These guys are our babies.
Good morning, 57andfemale…nothing but positive, wonderful healthy thought for the babies:) I HAVE babies but I also love my animal babies, too:) All rescued…. will be thinking of them, and you…please let us know how everything went. I know he’ll be a trooper:)

57, I hope with all my heart that Nickleby pulls through with flying colors. You have everybody’s love and support and Nickleby has a wonderful mother. And think how much better Kasper will feel with the bladder stones gone!
When I took Kasper for his consult yesterday, the surgical assistant remembered him from when his back end was ripped off by a pit bull - 4 emergency surgeries in 5 days. That’s when I really learned what I was capable of as a doggie nurse. She was so sweet - she said it was wonderful to see him and get that horrific image of him out of her mind. He’s a charmer and a half.

Our Sammy had a small growth removed from his eye because it was growing larger. He didn’t really have surgery as far as I know. It only took a few minutes. Hopefully it will be the same for Nickelby. Sammy is about 8 though and very healthy.
Hi, Carol - it was pretty involved but they got it all. Nickelby is at least 10, and has some issues. But he came through it (I was concerned about his lungs and if the eye would be damaged). Trying to figure out how to attach a photo to a tweet and copy it here.
So happy and relieved it is over and no noticeable problems yet. Sammy’s eight, but doesn’t act his age. He had a mole right where eyelashes grow. It then started growing several little moles on top of it. We took him in because of a red sore on his right cheek. He had been scratching it all night because we didn’t see anything the day before. It was about two inches in circumference. He had a ‘Hot Spot’ according to the Vet. An ingrown hair or bug bite. Haven’t seen bugs but could be a spider I guess. He’s been wearing his cone of courage like a good trooper. We’re tired of looking at it though. It’s getting frayed. We want to put on his Christmas collar. 🎄
That’s adorable! So glad Sammy is doing so well! Hot spots are awful - Kasper gets them from time to time. Go to Amazon and order Vetricyn Hot Spot Spray. It works wonders. On wounds and sores, too.
This growth wasn’t a wart or a mole - I am well versed in those. We’re not sure what it is. It was a strange shape, smooth, right at the rim of his eye. It was problematic. We’re hoping it’s just a cyst and not cancer, but we’ll deal with whatever comes. I’m just glad the surgery is over and his eye wasn’t damaged.
