Just because are “F’ed” up TC don’t mess it up for other AA’s that come after you. I know it was the White law firms that doubted his ability but he obviously has low self esteem so “F” everyone else. I will never forget my job interviews after graduation, and some low-life asshole white man tried to make me feel ashamed for going to college and getting a degree. He asked if I got in due to “affirmative action”. I told him I still had to show up everyday, do my homework, and make the grades to graduate, nobody gave me a free pass.

My ex was one of those like Bush; he came from an influential Southern family; he had o.k. grades, was not a perfect kid behaviorally, and he still got into a major University because his grandfather helped to fund two major buildings on campus (there is a street on campus named after him). Once he got to college, he still had behavioral problems and flunked out. That was a bit of a moment of clarity for him and he cleaned up his act and went back to same University and got admitted again, no problem.
That is the original affirmative action, but it’s for rich and privileged kids, so…..
I never had that kind of red carpet rolled out for me. There was no money for college in my family and no phone call to be made to some country club buddy on behalf of my admittance. Everything I have learned and accomplished for myself I have had to squeeze the opportunities out like the last bits out of a toothpaste tube. Don’t get me wrong; I feel blessed with the opportunities to learn and grow both intellectually and spiritually that not having it easy brings. I don’t fall apart when troubles hit, ’cause I’ve made it through enough to know I will be o.k.
Being married to him was an eye-opening window into a segment of society that thinks of itself as elite, but is, in reality, sorely lacking in spiritual and moral substance.
Hi MadameSoph, I have witnessed so much “I am owed something for nothing” from white males than from any group I’ve ever met. They are owed a good job, good salary, etc. What kills me is when they say things to me, to my face, and in front of other white men, the other white are stone silent……

A federal judge has rejected a request from the State of Texas to bar nine Syrian refugees from being relocated to Houston.
U.S. District Court Judge David Godbey said Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton had failed to produce enough evidence that the immigrants pose a danger to the community.
“The Court finds that the evidence before it is largely speculative hearsay,” Godbey wrote, turning down the order sought on behalf of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. “The Commission has failed to show by competent evidence that any terrorists actually have infiltrated the refugee program, much less that these particular refugees are terrorists intent on causing harm.”

The only thing I’d add is that it isn’t just Trump. It also comes from other Republican candidates who tell us lies about how the “the world is on fire” and it “has never been a more dangerous place.” And it comes from pundits who wring their hands about a President who hasn’t bought into the fear-mongering enough for their tastes (and ratings).
What we’re witnessing is the collapse of an entire political party that has run out of ideas and is holding on to the last shred of itself by blowing up as much fear as possible. Donald Trump is merely the one lighting the fuse.
