Zizi why is your local NBC not airing the show? Makes no sense to me. Anyway, I think they air the Running Wild episodes a few months later on the website.
So, you know that worky do I have every year around about now, the one that results in me coming on TOD late in the night hiccuping violently and telling you all I shlove you? Well, it’s tomorrow. So, I’ll have the usual Early Bird, but will be absent from then on til evening/night-ish, so if any available BT could post a heads up for PBO’s presser, with the video (which will appear here nearer the time: https://www.youtube.com/user/whitehouse/videos?view=2&flow=grid), that would be highly fantastic. I would ask you all to behave in my absence, but I know that would be a completely pointless plea.
FINALS ARE DONE!!!! I will assume BT duties for the PBO’s presser if need be….BTW I love that the snowfall is back….can’t wait to hear all the complaints and pressure for you to remove them :???:
Thanks again for asking … he’s got his next evaluation with a new surgeon in Chicago, in early January, and then we’ll know when they’ll be doing what we hope is the final post-up surgery (due to post-op complications from the first surgery in June). He’s so glad he’s going to be able to - more or less - put the next step out of his mind until after the holidays!
Do not give the fool a title - inconceivable that a sane majority could inflict that on the world - an insane majority is a horror story of epic proportions
It’s Snow Pretty!
Thank you, Chips.
Congrats on your Au :star: Chips!
Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!<3<3<3 the Snow! It feels like Xmas!
Happy Xmas, TOD!
Thank you for the snow since it doesn’t look like we’ll get any here.

The Afghan Taliban say they have unleashed “special forces” in an increasingly bloody battle with fighters from the rival, so-called Islamic State (IS) group. The Taliban’s dominance and monopoly on insurgency in a region home to numerous local and foreign militant groups is being challenged by IS, which has been gaining some support. Who’s winning the war of the militants?
How many Taliban special forces are fighting Islamic State?
According to Taliban sources, the special task force, part of the Taliban’s special forces command, was set up in early October and has more than 1,000 fighters - better equipped and trained than regular Taliban and with the sole aim of crushing IS.
Special ops teams are handpicked for their fighting skills and experience and are active in all provinces where IS has a current or potential presence - including Nangarhar, Farah, Helmand and Zabul. But Taliban special forces will deploy anywhere against IS, leaving other Taliban to fight Afghan and foreign troops.
“Bear is a mediocre cook, but the fact that we ate something recognizable is encouraging. It would’ve been nice if we’d had a cracker to go with it, that’s alright. Those things are hard to pack.” - PBO
I didn’t think I was going to enjoy the show, but I did. I might have to try watching Running with Bear more often. By the way the re-run of the Wiz will be on Saturday night. I missed it when it first came on.
Bear: Would ever encourage your girls to go into politics?
PBO: No. But they came to me and said they wanted go into elected office I would be completely supportive, because I think it can be noble work, if done for the reasons the right way. What I try to teach my daughters is be useful and be kind… and if you do those two things, wherever your passions take you, you’ll turn out okay…
Bear: Kind is such a big one. It’s not complicated is it? Sometimes we have a journey in life to come around to realizing actually that is it.
PBO: Try to be useful to somebody and try to kind.
PBO: i’m fairly cut but it’s possible the bottle opener is a little dated. I noticed for example there’s no gray hair on the Obama figurine and clearly The Presidency has taken a little bit of a toll. But, you know, Michelle tells me I’m holding up okay. 😀
I love My President too. He jusy makes me feel proud and safe and secure and the agape love he has for the world. For me. there will never ever be another.
Q&A: Bear Grylls talks running wild in the Alaskan wilderness with Barack Obama
“….Q: Can you talk a little bit about your impression of him and what kinds of things did you guys do together?
Bear Grylls: Well, my overriding impression was just he’s a really humble, family-centered, lovely guy. I mean, of course, the times along the route I have to kind of pinch myself and think actually, this is the president of America. And I think there’s a connection when you’re out in the wild with someone. I always say it’s the ultimate learning. One of the big reasons he wanted to do this, that he wanted to see some of the effects of climate change close up. He’s a dad and he wants to preserve the planet for his children’s future and I feel exactly the same way. I spend all of my life charging around the world and all of these wildernesses and I see the harsh reality of climate change close up. We want to make sure our children get to enjoy these wonderful wildernesses. So there is a great connection there. But also my overriding thing was actually what a really lovely guy. And he was excited to be there and it was fun to be able to kind of pull each other’s leg a little bit. In a way that if you just sort of meet someone in the White House with an interview situation, it’s difficult to do. But you’re out there and you kind of light fire together and climb up trees and, you know, half eaten salmons and talking about flatulence and the berries and all of that gets out. So huge privilege but definitely a fair side of the president you never see before….continued”
So, now that I’ve finished all the work I brought home for tomorrow (for today really) and can pause in the village for a second, all sane people have gone to bed. Ah well! Once I get back from work I’ll be able to catch up in the village.
Hi, Sis D. I was actually working hard for a change, is all. :D
I’ve packed the completed work back into my briefcase so now I’m off to get some shut eye. The good news is that my day tomorrow will be short, so I can be on hand to harass your soul earlier than I’ve been these past weeks. Sleep tight when you get around to it!
I just finished watching PBO & Bear and it was wonderful. PBo’s words for all to live by which i know from reading the book about his mom she instilled in him, “be useful and be kind”. The show ending in a prayer was the best. How people can continue to hate PBO is beyond rational thinking.
Just finished watching this program on the West coast. I really enjoyed it. It reminded me of why and how much I truly love this man, this President Obama. And Bear Gryllis helped to bring out both the public policy of care for the earth and the total wisdom of this great man who is our President.
Oh Chica you cheated :)
Zizi, I am the Lance Armstrong of TOD: whatever it takes to get me over the line furst
Sigh - Gov Scott Walker would be proud of you
Zizi why is your local NBC not airing the show? Makes no sense to me. Anyway, I think they air the Running Wild episodes a few months later on the website.

Congrats on getting through finals, LP! Welcome back.
Howdy, JB! How goes it…..got a progress report on your son too?
Congrats LP!
TY, Dakota :) I will finally have some time to catch up with the TOD family over the next few weeks!
That is great to hear and I’m so happy that he will get to spend time with family over the holidays…not the hospital!
Thanks, sweet one!
Congratulations on your finals being done, LP.

That’s a little truth right there. Local news just came on the teevee. Their breaking news? Star Wars first day out.
toon of the day.
Great cartoon. Is it even possible that America will vote for a President Trump?!?!?

It’s snowing on TOD! So glad I got to see it! I love when it snows here :-)
Today I saw a woman with the best Xmas t-shirt ever. It said, “Dear Santa….. Let me Explain……”
Laughed out loud when I saw it.
Off to make dinner and watch PBO on Running Wild (thanks for the reminder, Chips!)
BBL to catch up…
So good
Me no understand. Snow? There’s no snow for me! None. Nada. Why? Why did it go away? SMH.

“The fact that he told me this salmon was left over from a bear. I dunno if that was necessary; he could’ve just left that out.”
LOL! I’m with you on that Mr. President! 😆
lololol…i am so loving this
After Bear said the salmon “still smelled like bear breath,” you could sorta tell the Prez wanted to run off and brush his teeth.
Or maybe that was me.
I have to de-lurk to say I LOVE MY PRESIDENT!!!!! My heart is full- thanks Bear. And thanks TOD- so love you, too! 😍😍😍

” … need to keep an even keel, so that you don’t get to high and you don’t get too low… ” - PBO
yeah, yeah, kenyan. tell us something we don’t know.
The snow! Yay!
I’m only seeing the last 15 mins. of the President’s show, but oh my goodness. Love him!
I’m sure the entire show will be available online soon! [better be] 😀
I’ll definitely be watching it, when it’s available!
nope, donald dreck is shutting down innernetz midnight tonight.
Oh, yeah, forgot about that. Probably for the whole globe, since he’s so in-flu-en-tial. Or inconsequential. One of them.
That was so sweet!
“Bear is a mediocre cook, but the fact that we ate something recognizable is encouraging. It would’ve been nice if we’d had a cracker to go with it, that’s alright. Those things are hard to pack.” - PBO
He is so funny! 😀
And so urbane. And I’m sure next time, the Prez will pack a little pack of crackers!
I didn’t think I was going to enjoy the show, but I did. I might have to try watching Running with Bear more often. By the way the re-run of the Wiz will be on Saturday night. I missed it when it first came on.
Love the President making the s’mores!
POTUS said Sasha was good with making the s’mores.
PBO: No, I will not be drinking my own urine for a TV show.
Smart man! LOL! 😆
Wonderful….
SNOW!!!!
Thanks for the snow, Chips:) Off to snuggle into bed and watch my President….See you all tomorrow!
While sharing tea made from leaves picked during their hike
Bear: Catkin (sp?) is also good for flatulence.
Without skipping a bear, POTUS replies: Well not a problem I have, but perhaps you do!
Bwahaha! 😂😂😂
lololol
hahahahahahaha. I missed that!!!
How can you not be moved by this?!?!?
I loved it when they had a prayer before POTUS left.
Such a lovely moment.
Oh, that was wonderful!
Bear: Would ever encourage your girls to go into politics?
PBO: No. But they came to me and said they wanted go into elected office I would be completely supportive, because I think it can be noble work, if done for the reasons the right way. PBO: Try to be useful to somebody and try to kind.
Loved Bear whipping out the Obama bottle opener for an autograph.
The Jason Day’s wife was sent to get examined. She will be OK.
But look at the King James rushing back to the court.
G’Nite, TOD.
I will watch POTUS as I get ready to depart in the AM on Friday. I taped the show. Thanks for all the updates and reviews.
I’m ready to fly to Alaska to smoke some bear-chewed Salmon!!
LOL!
PBO: i’m fairly cut but it’s possible the bottle opener is a little dated. I noticed for example there’s no gray hair on the Obama figurine and clearly The Presidency has taken a little bit of a toll. But, you know, Michelle tells me I’m holding up okay. 😀
Mrs. O. knows! 😄
Very sweet prayer. You know the hates are seething over that.
* haters *
I love My President!
Dudette, me too.
I love My President too. He jusy makes me feel proud and safe and secure and the agape love he has for the world. For me. there will never ever be another.

Dangit, de-lurking to say…I missed the show and forgot to DVR it…I was too busy watching my bae Idris and the new Luther episode.
Ugh…Hope NBC re-broadcasts it or puts it Hulu soon.
Or I’ll just have to wait until someone puts the highlights on YouTube.
Dang…have a good night TOD.
Who knows - NBC might re-air it due to popular demand! :) I hope they do.
Both Bear @beargrylls and the show @runningwild were live tweeting during the episode. Checkout their TLs. 😀
Correction: The show’s twitter handle is @NBCRunningWild
Goodnight, TODville. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Good night, stranger.
Hey, you! :)
So, now that I’ve finished all the work I brought home for tomorrow (for today really) and can pause in the village for a second, all sane people have gone to bed. Ah well! Once I get back from work I’ll be able to catch up in the village.

Mmmhmm… Well, we “non-sane” ones hope you have a good restful sleep, m’am. [grumble, mumble, grrrr]
In a nutshell, this is why the haters hate him so ferociously.
Wise advice from a very wise man!
<3 <3 <3
Yeh, you’re really not supposed to do that, but PBO was gracious as always. Don’tcha just love him?
When Bear asked POTUS about his faith, PBO quoted Lincoln
I just finished watching PBO & Bear and it was wonderful. PBo’s words for all to live by which i know from reading the book about his mom she instilled in him, “be useful and be kind”. The show ending in a prayer was the best. How people can continue to hate PBO is beyond rational thinking.
Time for me to pack it in tonight. Thanks for the snow tonight Chips! Love it!
