Congratulations, GGail! Have been out of commission the past few days taping and painting all the trim around our expensive new windows. Somehow I thought they would be finished on the inside as well as the outside. Silly me. At least they got put in before the rains settled in for good! This job needs to be finished before our kids and our son’s girlfriend come on Christmas Eve. So fun to see POTUS having a blast on his well-earned vacation.
I can’t get enough of this POTUS!
Exciting news: Not only did my friend complete his White House internship earlier this month, he has now started working full-time at the White House! AND he graduated from college this past weekend! AND today is his birthday!
Not sure I can mention his name online, but he and I have known each other since he volunteered for a congressional campaign on which I worked a few years ago.

So glad that he is enjoying himself doing all of the outdoor activities that he likes and seldom gets the chance to do. I hope and pray that he and the rest of the family have a vacation uninterrupted by any national or international crisis or stupidity. The only thing missing is my presence!

This kind of analysis is told from the POV of white privilege…blk folks are the most consistent base of the DEM part yet he compartmentalizes us in the BLM….as if that is when the black liberation movement started…he throws slaps at the President all thru the article…and minimizes the huge accomplishments of this President in domestic and foreign policy…

I agree with you. He was very harsh on PBO and on the young people who elected him, depicting them as being disillusioned with him and I also didn’t like how he lumped all African American communities as BLM and depicted them as being disillusioned with PBO. That being said, it is still an interesting read.

To think that this President has you, Meta, and many like you, carrying him in your hearts, lifting him up - well, at times, it’s overwhelming to think about. It’s grace, all right, and it abounds. By the way, I don’t know how he does it, but he’ll be fine. To him, it doesn’t appear to be burdens … seems more like he sees life as one big challenging adventure, worth getting up every morning to meet - like the sun itself does, at daybreak. He is not stopped by lesser beings or fools … I don’t even think he notices them, much. The rest of us can only look on, in awe.
I have never thought about it quite like what you have discerned here. Yes, the President has had many opponents, but unlike other leaders, this man is held in the hearts of millions, and surely in the prayers of many of those millions from faiths across the spectrum. Those who pray for this man are also people of good will, that can see the Light in his actions and perspective. At the moment its hard to contemplate the “force” of all those hearts lifted to aid and comfort him through their spirits of compassion and faith in something greater than themselves for good.

Catching up on today’s posts, and disheartened by how reasonable people might think it’s OK for our next President to be GOP (e.g., Salon railing against HRC).
There are so many reasons that the President after PBO be a Dem. The Paris Climate Deal must be implemented here to drive demand away from Big Oil because Climate Change is here now, not a prediction for the future. 21st century SCOTUS cannot be comprised of bigoted, narrow-minded fossils like Scalia.
And in west coast news…
