I voted for #7 because of the huge historical importance of the moment and what it means for the future, as well as for the fact that it shows how focused, goal oriented and successful our president is in bringing about change in areas most thought impossible.

I’ve never said I’m not voting for HRC. But that doesn’t mean that I’m not allowed to take exception to her tactics. She’s a very wealthy white woman of privilege. I don’t see her as being just like a Latina grandmother.

I think people need to say what they need to say but yeah we’re voting for you because she is the DEM most likely to win the general when you take Vice President Joe Biden out of the mix. Hell I want 8 more years of Obama/Biden but I can’t get that and it really hurts and I’m afraid most of the time of what will become of our country when both men become just regular citizens. Well they won’t be regular citizens like me and you because they will have an extensive SS detail. I know I’m beginning the mourning process because while I will follow my President into his post-presidency, it’s going to be hard not having Pete Souza there everyday documenting his greatness, his awesomeness. Once we vote for HRC, we’ll pretend she doesn’t exist. I want us to win back the Senate and the House and with her at the top of the ticket, we get a lot of what we want down ticket. Once we’re done with the Clintons, I hope to get my presidential joy back by electing Sec. Julian Castro or his brother Congressman Joaquin Castro to the US Senate seat for Texas. Whichever one wins, I want them as my president in 2020 or 2024. Maybe Clinton will serve only one term. I really consider her a placeholder for the Castro brothers.

This is so perfect, Idon, that I need a better word than perfect.
It is my plan, for sure.
Vote for HRC and ignore all politics and her especially thereafter.

Scrolling from bottom to top, MP was about to expire as the pressure grew to vote. At first, it was The Vulcan Mind Meld with the gorgeous baby in #10. Then UhOh, and Hmmm, then UhOh, and so on, nearly passed out from the strain. Sighing, then YES!! #2 appeared and there was no more questioning, so now you know. I loved them all, and would be hard pressed to even rate them from #1 - #10. Totally pre-ordering Pete Souza’s first (second, third, fourth…) book after January 2017. <3 :bear: <3

All these pictures are hard to choose, my first choice is #2, but my one for the world is #7. I am happy with any of them. We just returned from a holiday brunch. So nice to get together with like minded people. Love the holiday get togethers.

Yesterday my husband got a letter in the mail from Ted Cruz. A very well done mailing. The only reason I figure my husband got it is because he is retired military. We are registered Dems, he is not on Facebook, so I don’t know how his name got on Ted’s list. Don said he is going to write him a letter. Has anyone else got one?

It seemed like a once-in-a lifetime picture and it sums up what a gift he is to us and to the world.

That’s the only way to get through to these outlets: take away their viewership for propping up Trump.

Watching it for trainwreck value plays into their hands - all they care about are ratings.

Indeed PF - they would actually prefer that you go away and die - but as an alternative they take your money and/or put you into jail.

Part of this is the guns - white people demand the right to carry guns - but they are scared of those black folks - because they might have guns. The 2nd amendment is very selective in who has these rights.

I did not mean to be so negative at this time of year - so I send wishes for a blessed Christmas to you and your loved ones. The past 7 years have forced the reality into the open - it can only get better - half of the battle was accepting that it exists - this is no longer in doubt.

Emoprogs are as ignorant as Teabaggers.

Better a Trump presidency than a Hillary presidency? Really?

They must not be one of the demographics that Trump has targeted. And they must think they’ll be immune to whatever damage he’ll do to the country economically and politically.

And they think subjecting the country to all that is better than what might come from Hillary’s corporate coziness.

      Dumb, dumb, dumb.

PBO’s genius photographer talks about the rainbow pictures [there were several] when Pres O was leaving Jamaica.
    —————————————————————————————————————————-

When people ask me how I do what I do, I often recite the words of Bob Dylan:

“I was just doing what I could with what I had where I was.”

That kind of sums up my approach to my job as the President’s photographer.

Every once in a while, you also just get very lucky. Such was the case last week, when a rainbow came along just as the President’s helicopter was arriving at the airport in Kingston, Jamaica, where he would board Air Force One for the flight to Panama. Fortunately, I was manifested aboard the second helicopter–which always arrives before Marine One–giving me a few minutes to prepare for photographing the rainbow.

    ………………………………………………….

My colleague Amanda Lucidon had already positioned herself toward the back of Air Force One to frame the President ascending the stairs with the rainbow overhead.

President Obama boards Air Force One in Kingston, Jamaica, April 9, 2015. (Official White House Photo by Amanda Lucidon)
    ——————————————————————————-

Meanwhile, after photographing the departure greets, I ran under the wing of the plane to try and line up where the President would be when he waved goodbye at the top of the stairs.
