    GM TODville.

    Countdown to 2016 this week.

Despite the horror of #Paris and #SanBernardino this year, 2015 has been an amazing year.

Is it too early for this???

and here is my response to the comments about our President….

It is nice to admire the President…but i hate when we reduce him to a piece of meat…it is so Disrespectful….

        • 14 arapaho415
          December 28, 2025 at 9:57 am

You’re right, PF58, it is disrespectful, but also (IMHO) a truthful observation.

Could be wrong (usually am), but think that PBO would know we’re having fun BECAUSE of the awe and respect we have for him, and wouldn’t be offended.

He’s like Yoda but with buns of steel, LOL.

I’ll stop now, and will do my best to refrain from being disrespectful of the best President of the modern era.

The media is not permitted to report good news if it reflects well on President Obama. Only scare, scare, scare and attack, attack, attack are permitted, along with the deification of the Trump.

GM Jackie.Christmas was really nice with my family and the only thing that would have made it better would have been if the princesses had been here. They are in Kansas with the in-laws. :(

Morning all. A few minutes ago we said goodbye to our three-year-old granddaugher and her mom and dad with much hugging, kisses, tears, “see you later alligators,” and blown kisses. We had two days of non-stop action with treats, laughter, games and field trips. And now the quiet is eerie as two senior citizens slip back into their slow, predictable routine until the next visit from our tiny whirlwind. It’s so good to be reminded that every little thing can be special if seen with wonder and without guile and cynicism. Little children do make you feel that anything is possible. Our little one’s favorite new expression is “Yes, We Can!” and when she says it, I feel hope for our future..

First Book mixes market forces and philanthropy to help poor children

By Lyndsey Layton December 27 at 6:36 PM

In a small, two-bedroom apartment in Corona, Calif., Trinity Santos, 5, reads her hardcover copy of “Green Eggs and Ham” again and again. She never tires of the Dr. Seuss classic, sometimes reading it to her 3-year-old brother, Joshua, said their mother, Diane.

Life is a struggle for the Santos family. Diane worked as a waitress before her children were born, and the family of four lives on the $35,000 that her husband earns as a phlebotomist. They don’t have much.

But the children own the four dozen books in a small, homemade bookcase, courtesy of First Book, a nonprofit organization that combines market forces and philanthropy to get new books into the hands of poor children to encourage early reading.

Todays’ edition of “Good News in the News” is a renewed push by some Governors to get the Medicaid expansion in their states. The GOP state Senates and Assemblies are standing in their way.
    30 States Have the Expansion.
    20 States to go.
I will be watching this number carefully and applauding any State that does the right thing for its people.

Another metric I am monitoring closely is 107. That is the current number of Guantanamo detainees.

Supposedly 17 will be departing on or around January 11. 107-17=90.
As far as I know, under 100 is an informal target the Administration has set for informing us about what President Obama wants to do next.

You want to know who else hired Ari Fleischer when they got caught with their pants down, Tiger Woods, that’s who. Nice try, Peyton, but when your first move is to hire a spin-doctor it tells us everything we need to know about you.

Should have read “retains former BUSH White House aide”.

Peyton’s really a GOPer, isn’t he? Hanging out with Papa John “Obamacare hater” Schlatter and now Ari Fleischer? The company you keep…

Oh yes, Peyton is a dyed in the wool Conservative, how else to explain him hanging out with a rat-fucker like the owner of Papa John’s.

More Good News today is that the dismantling of Iran’s nuclear capabilities continues and much of the enriched uranium has been moved out of Iran.
Not that it will stop the GOP from acting as if they can stop the Deal from full implementation. The Iran Deal and the removal of sanctions WILL happen.
Those rotten folks on RW media and the fools who listen to them are still ranting about repealing Obamacare. The Deal is their latest losing cause.

    http://www.cbsnews.com/news/jobs-and-wages-how-2016-is-shaping-up/

The country will inch closer to what LPL Financial calls the “elusive” full-employment range, a term that signifies when an economy is in balance, without any cyclical unemployment as well as a level of jobs that won’t cause inflation. Interestingly, “full employment” doesn’t mean an unemployment rate of 0 percent or that everyone who wants a job will have one.

But if the labor market reaches full-employment range, employers will need to increase wages to keep their workers, LPL Financial said in a research note. The organization of independent financial advisors pointed out that wage pressure is already emerging and should pick up speed in 2016.

While the national unemployment rate stood at 5 percent in November, some regions are already experiencing much lower unemployment rates, such as Lincoln, Nebraska, where the jobless rate stands at 2.3 percent. The Midwestern city may offer a taste of what the rest of the country could experience in 2016: With tight labor market there, wages jumped almost 11 percent this past summer, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Others agree that higher wages are on tap for 2016. Real wages for U.S. workers should increase by 2.7 percent next year, outpacing the forecast for a 2.5 percent boost in real global wages, according to employment firm Korn Ferry.
