The fog is so thick here today, it’s impossible to see anything but dense grayness out of the windows. It’s like being enclosed in cotton. Yet somewhere the sun is shining, the water is warm enough to swim in and the First Family is chilling out on the beach.

Thanks, Dudette. I saw Rita Moreno live on stage during a convention I was attending in the late 80’s. She was magnificent-her dancing her humor, her presence just lit up the stage. I’ve forgotten everything that went on at that convention, but I’ll never forget Rita Moreno.

Good morning Ms. Chips, Danny and TOD family, I hope all is well with everyone this lovely Wednesday morning. Congrats Jackie, on being first this morning.

The greatest start of the day, is when you wake up in the morning and have all your faculties and mobility. If you don’t think so, try not waking up.

To all, I hope you have a lively, optimistic, and upbeat day today. <3 <3 <3

Thank God that President Obama is still the President of The United States of America. ⭐🏆 ⭐🏆 ⭐🏆

Df, this tweet can be the fist of an ongoing series of disasters that will happen with a Republican president. I’m sure each of us could add to it every day. Here’s my addition: 8. US becomes a laughing stock around the world as bumbling GOP pres. insults the entire international community; 9) We all choke on polluted air, get sick on contaminated water and drown in rising oceans because climate change is ignored; and 10) Our entire education system, electric grid and infrastructure collapse because ZERO dollars are appropriated for any of them.

That said, it’s well worth the read….this, however, is not cause to rest on laurels. We must VOTE, and we must get everyone to the polls that needs to vote!

    A question I’ve asked myself many times…

    http://www.salon.com/2015/12/30/congress_members_get_the_kind_of_protection_most_of_us_only_get_at_airports_wheres_the_gun_control_at_my_workplace/

Certain politicians may say that increasing arms, not restricting them, is the road to safety. But doesn’t the rule preventing guns in the Capitol (and in nearly every state Capitol) support the theory of gun control in its simplest form? If guns are not permitted in a specific area, gun violence will be prevented, or at the very least limited. In a country that this year has seen more mass shootings than it has days, the theory bears expansion outside the workplace of those who consider themselves its most important citizens. The Second Amendment is not so sacrosanct when it comes to their safety. And if it is – if the Congress and Senate truly reject the concept of gun control – then tax dollars should not be spent enforcing it for them. Lift the ban on guns in the U.S. and state Capitols and remove the screening processes that keep their employees safe.

      Most excellent, df. Thank you!!

BTW, as you likely already know, no guns are allowed at NRA HQ, either ….

Happy New Year to you and your family!

AFTER PBO’s presidency is over. There are too many unstable house and senate members along with their friends who could be invited to the Capital during SOTU address.

The US space agency Nasa has warned that the effects of the current El Nino weather phenomenon could be as bad as those of 1998, the strongest on record.

That El Nino played havoc with world weather systems and was blamed for several extreme weather events.

The current El Nino has been linked to several floods and unusually warm conditions in the northern hemisphere.

The phenomenon sees warm waters of the central Pacific expand eastwards towards North and South America.

El Nino is a naturally occurring weather episode which happens every two to seven years.

It usually peaks late in the calendar year, although the effects can persist well into the following spring and last up to 12 months.

Nasa says the current El Nino “shows no signs of waning”, based on the latest satellite image of the Pacific Ocean.

It bears “a striking resemblance” to one from December 1997, the agency says, “the signature of a big and powerful El Nino”.
