I love Pete’s caption regarding the first picture you have posted Chips…

“When some of my friends heard that the President had hiked the grueling Koko Head Crater Trail, they sent me messages on whether I had made it to the top. The trail is 1,048 wooden steps, which climb more than 1,200 feet up the crater’s ridge. Some call it the ‘Stairmaster from Hell.’ I’ll admit that I was huffing and puffing up the trail, but to my friends, this photograph is proof that I indeed made it to the top with my boss.” (Official White House Photo by Pete Souza)

Well, the Governor of Kentucky has followed through with his promise to destroy Kynect.

And I have not one single, solitary, any resemblance of an ounce of sympathy for them.

    Nada.

Not for the muthaphuckas who never had insurance before Kynect, and couldn’t be bothered to get their azzes up to vote….

but, especially for the muthaphuckas who never had insurance before Kynect and voted for this asshole anyway…

    2017…..

    yeah, sure…whatever.

Bevin: Medicaid changes to come in time

Bevin, who campaigned on a pledge to reshape Medicaid and the expansion under the Affordable Care Act, said it will take time to change the program but he expects to succeed.

“We are going to transform the way Medicaid is delivered in Kentucky,” Bevin said.

Bevin has enlisted the help of Mark Birdwhistell, a former secretary of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services under former Gov. Ernie Fletcher.

Birdwhistell, vice president for health services at the University of Kentucky, said he’s ready for the challenge.

“The people of Kentucky need a Medicaid system that is affordable and sustainable,” he said.

Bevin and Birdwhistell said Kentucky will begin work on a waiver they will ask the federal government to approve to let Kentucky establish its own Medicaid plan, as Indiana and some other states have done.

They expect to introduce the plan in 2017.

Bevin Wednesday morning voiced support for a Medicaid waiver system similar to the one used by Indiana to hold down costs and said an effort during the coming six months will show “whether this will work or not.”

      Thank you, pkayden.
This tape is sensational. A MUST Watch!! Never mind Cenk. (sometimes pronounced “jerk.”) He hits it out of the park with this one.

Speaking of hitting it out of the park—-Pete Souza’s photographs!!!

I am less happy about the unconfirmed allegations that the WH spied on Congress.
The part of that story that I want to know about is exactly which US Senators and Congresspeople committed treason by collaborating with a foreign government against our own government.
All the media will want to do is bash the President.

Deflect, so the people won’t know that elected officials were conspiring with a foreign govt AGAINST the US. Fuck them!

I agree. The article uses the word sabotage regarding the GOP/Israel/Nuclear deal

              December 30, 2025 at 7:50 pm

Which is precisely what they all intended to do. Sabotage a deal that the major countries of the world agreed upon….more importantly, they acted in a treasonous manner, AGAIN! I would LOVE to know the names of those little POS congresspeople that were actively plotting against the United States…they are evil hypocrites.

Df. as the article implies, it is unique in history for members of Congress to conspire with a foreign government against the United States. If Democratic members of Congress had done this to a Republican president, there would be 24/7 outrage, calls for impeachment, censure and endless hearings. But Republicans consider themselves exempt from all loyalty to their country, all laws and all oaths of office because-contempt for this president overrides any other consideration.

If find it somewhat interesting that the news is pounding the president to put more troops on the ground.
But recently, The moment he announces that Iraq will have 3500 troops on the ground… They slam him for a week.
It’s like they goad him to make a decision, prolly getting a tip from congress that this is what is going to happen.
Then, they opine about it for the week leading up to the decision in writing.
Then, when it’s in writing they slam him for more troops???
Let me get this straight? They want more troops on the ground… So they excoriate him for taking them out.
Then, when the conditions on the ground manifests themselves he announces SPEC Ops troops, and they freak out!
    I’m so confused.
    Please help? Lol

          lololol

Actually….i did not watch Twilight Zone that much…i was …should i say ..a lil fearful…but there are 3 episodes that have left a lasting impression…

there was an episode in which a person’s punishment for wrong doing was that a mark was placed on their forehead and no one could speak to that person for the duration of their punishment..they were essentially shunned…if was as if they did not exist….if you did speak to them you would be punished as well….this person suffered greatly….but soon his time was up….after he was received back into the community he came across a person who was suffering as he had been….he made a decision to speak to that person..even though he knew he would be punished..

there was an episode in which a man was being punished by being placed in a room where there were mountains of books….he thought that this was an odd punishment because he greatest joy was to read…..but somehow his glasses got broken…and without his glasses he could not read….

an episode…in which a bigot was transported back in time to Nazi Germany….he found himself wearing the insignia of a Jewish person….hiding from the nazis….

But considering the important decisions that await the electorate in the coming year – both nationally and statewide – consider one more suggestion for self-improvement: Become more politically engaged in the coming year.

    • 52 jackiegrumbacher
      December 30, 2025 at 9:55 pm

Pf, politically engaged also means actually bothering to learn the facts when events occur, not running with any rumor or half-baked lie that fills the air waves. Those who reach out to voters need to be armed with information so they can counter the ignorance and the fears. Taking the time each day to become informed pays off in big dividends when it comes time to GOTV and vote.

Each year I think that Pete cannot top himself with his end of the year in photos posting, but I think that the photos selected this year are the best. I also enjoy the tone of his descriptive comments that accompany each one. My favorites are the ones that feature PBO with his daughters, his niece, and his favorite baby girl Ella Rhodes.

Aretha Franklin is Every Older Black Woman at the Kennedy Center Honors

    Awesomely Luvvie — December 30, 2025
Last night was the airing of the 2015 Kennedy Center Honors, saluting Rita Moreno, George Lucas, Cicely Tyson, Seiji Ozawa and Carole King.

Aretha Franklin performed “Natural Woman” to a standing ovation to honor Carole. President Obama and FLOTUS Shellie were getting their entire good times because the Queen of Soul can’t help but slay. She even moved Barack to tears. She is legend and she has been on more stages than she can count. She can literally do this and leave everyone hollering IN HER SLEEP.
