We will always have higher prices than anywhere else because of the additives in our gas, but there’s also a whole lot of greed going on too. One refinery is broken and needs repairs and now a couple of other refineries are being shut down for maintenance - WHAAT!!!???
Maybe not. We are still at $2.69, it’s the lowest we’ve had. But we do have the tax which is ‘supposed’ to go to road and highway maintenance, although an additional $65 was tacked onto the tabs renewal fee, for exactly that same purpose. Still, our economy seems strong, lots of construction, light rail up and running, thanks to the stimulus, and rent keeps soaring (not good)
I paid $2.85 on Tuesday and that was at ARCO, our cheapest major brand.
Yes, our economy is getting stronger and better still, our hiring is improving vastly.
During the years CA had GOP Gov’s they allowed the oil companies to buy independent refiners, close them, and when the perfect storm of only a few oil companies with fewer refineries if only one of them goes down our prices go through the roof no matter the price of crude or gasoline.
