Happy New Year from Lurkerland (aka Iowa). A day of massive emotions here – early this morning, my dad passed away after a lengthy illness. :-( Yet today is my last day at work, as I am retiring after 31 years. :-) The timing didn’t quite work out on that one. My dad was a pretty liberal 87.5 year old Democrat, I definitely will miss discussing politics with him!

Oh wow {{{{muscatinegal}}}}, I bet you do have a tidal wave of emotions rolling inside you today. Take it slow and remember your dad is no longer in any pain or discomfort. You will always have him with you in your heart and your memories.

muscatinegal, I had that same thing happen to me. My mom was in the hospital and she wasn’t doing well at all. For some reason, I don’t know what it was but I woke up at 4:00 a.m. and something told me to call her hospital room, the nurse informed me that she had just passed and that they were in the process of calling me. I felt she was at peace when she passed away.
Blessings to you Muscatine gal. Loss of a parent is excruciating. Sounds like you and he had a great relationship, which will be a huge comfort to you as days pass.

Even those of us who are sympathetic to her cause and agree with what she says need to understand what exactly turned her head around and set her on the path to conservatism. This book just doesn’t do that. “Is My Bow Too Big? How I went from SNL to the Tea Party”
