The 2nd Amendment is not the problem. The problem is continued misinterpretation. We have a well REGULATED militia. It’s called the U.S. military. Something rarely ever discussed by the media, when talking about this issue. The word ‘Regulated’ tells you everything you need to know. The U.S. f**king government has the constitutional RIGHT to regulate that militia and any of its members (citizens).
Note: Who has the legal right to call a competency hearing for a Supreme Court Justice?
The words well regulated militia in regards to the Second Amendment have been used loosely by the anti-government groups forming calling themselves militias. The MSM has propagated that improper usage by calling these gangs by their own incorrect terminology- militias.
What about the manufacturers/importers/wholesalers/retailers of guns? As long as they are profiting, they could care less about the [rise in] senseless killings. And the legislators that are in their pocket will continue to pass laws like “stand your ground” and “open carry” [while falsely accusing the president of coming after their guns] to entice the crazies to run out and buy more.
What can be put in place to cut into the profits of the ones that are making the guns available? I’ve heard talk of a gun tax (like a gas tax or cigarette tax) but that is more of a consumer tax; correct? What about a retail tax/liability insurance that the manufacturer/wholesaler/retailer must pay? What about a way to track the source of the weapon so that these profiteers will have to pay a penalty for any gun that is used in the commission of a crime — and especially for massacres like the ones that have been in our recent history? [Of course, any fees that are charged to the providers will be passed on to the consumers and black market sales will probably come into play, but it would seem that finding a way to hit the pockets of those who are getting the most financial benefit would help to stem the flow of the weapons that floating around.]
I know that what I’m saying is “pie in the sky” and that nothing close to what I’m throwing out will ever happen. But just like hosts/bars can be held accountable for serving the alcohol to a person who goes out and commits manslaughter while under the influence, why can’t the “providers” of the weapons also be held accountable?
No civil liberty is unfettered. The NRA and its supporters are arguing that you can have zero gun control legislation because of the 2nd Amendment. That’s not how the Constitution works.
The loser should worry about the angry voters that prefer Il Douche to him… and not waste time criticizing this President his party has sought to undermine from day 1.
I have just finished listening to Pres Obama and his additional 5 actionable steps to continue to reduce gun deaths and violence in USA. Thank you, TOD.

WATCH: Kentucky man shouts ‘punk a** n****r’ at black judge — and gets slapped with 60 days in jail
David Edwards DAVID EDWARDS

A Kentucky man is spending 60 days in jail after he used a racial epithet in front of a black judge on Monday.
In courtroom video obtained by WDRB, Jefferson Circuit Court Judge Olu Stevens is seen revoking Adam Satterly’s bond on drug charges.
“Punk ass n*gger!” Satterly shouts as he turns to walk out of court.
Moments later, Stevens asks deputies to bring Satterly back into the courtroom.
“Is there something that you wish to say to me?” the judge asks.
Satterly argues that he had directed the slur at his brother, not the judge.
“No, no, no, I didn’t mean it like that,” the defendant insists.
“Oh, you didn’t mean it like that?” Stevens replies skeptically. “You don’t speak those words in here. And that word particularly, you don’t use that word.”
“I’m going to give you 60 days for having used that word. I’m going to hold you in contempt right now for having used it in this courtroom. It’s disrespectful; don’t ever do it again.”
BLM and AA peaceful demonstrators with NO GUNS are met with local police in full SWAT uniforms, tear gassed, armored tanks, and AK weapons pointed at them. When that happens to ANY White terrorist group, you let me know.
RIght after the tragedy at Sandy Hook, I remember thinking, SURELY Congress will do something now to help stem the rising gun violence in this country. After all the prior mass killings, surely the death of these young children will be the last straw.
But because we have Congress people with Grinch-sized hearts, here we are today.
We are blessed to have a president with a heart…who can feel our pain and operate outside of politics and self-interests; a president who is truly a servant of the people.
I watched the speech on Whitehouse.gov, so I’m just wondering… did any of the stations broadcast the ENTIRE speech? Especially the ones who seem to think it’s beneficial to the voters of this country to broadcast — usually in its entirety — any and every Trump rally to hear him talk about how wonderful he is and how everyone and everything else is a disaster.
I wonder what the support level is for Nevada folks. I would like to think majority is in favor of POTUS Executive Action but if not Reid might be looking out for his replacement getting elected.
Dems appear to be united on this front. (They know this is an election year, and I think it’s dawning on them that PBO’s coattails are long and strong — TODville will be in for a treat this Fall when PBO is in full campaign-mode to GOTV.)
Congress must follow President Obama’s lead in answering America’s call to #StopGunViolence, and Democrats will continue to lead the charge.

Can someone please explain why the government hasn't shut off their power, water and heat? https://t.co/stBAwl8d3S— Ian Millhiser (@imillhiser) January 5, 2025
John McCain’s spawn was on the show spewing her evil words for the day. Thank God her father will NEVER be president or we’d be in every military conflict while he would do nothing about mass killing in this country.
it’s not about “repealing” the 2nd amendment. it’s about simply following it as intended. “Militia” is clearly defined in the constitution as meaning the national guard of today (section 1, article 8), and the 2nd amendment of course refers to “militias.” the amendment was about the exact opposite of what so many claim it’s about today, so let’s just start applying it correctly. no repeal process necessary.
Thanks for the truth about militias, aka military- well regulated at that. Since when does a military comprise individuals such as myself and my next door neighbor without us having taken an oath to protect…..anything ?
4morefor44, just a friendly correction. I think you meant to write (Article 1, Section 8). There are only 7 Articles in the original U.S. Constitution. By the way, here is what Article II, Section 2, paragraph 1 says: “The President shall be commander in chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the militia of several states, when called into the actual service of the United States….” You are absolutely right: the militias of several states, referred to in the original Constitution, became the National Guards. The media, and indeed all of us, should stop legitimizing these terrorist white supremacist gangs by calling them militias. Legitimate “Militias”-that is to say the current National Guards-should be under the command of the governors in each of the 50 states, as well as under the command of the President when called into service to defend the country from foreign attacks or from domestic insurrections.
How the Leader of the Oregon Armed Protest Benefited From a Federal Loan Program
Ammon Bundy decries federal “tyranny,” but he sought aid from the government to help his company.
Mon Jan. 4, 2016 5:42 PM EST
As one of the leaders of a band of armed, anti-government activists who have taken over a Fish and Wildlife Service building in Oregon, Ammon Bundy has denounced the “tyranny” of the federal government. And he has brought a new round of attention to the anti-government militia movement that in 2014 rallied behind his father, Cliven Bundy, when the elder Bundy and armed supporters confronted federal agents in Nevada. But not long ago, Ammon Bundy sought out help from the government he now decries and received a federal small-business loan guarantee.
Ammon Bundy runs a Phoenix-based company called Valet Fleet Services LLC, which specializes in repairing and maintaining fleets of semitrucks throughout Arizona. On April 15, 2010—Tax Day, as it happens—Bundy’s business borrowed $530,000 through a Small Business Administration loan guarantee program. The available public record does not indicate what the loan was used for or whether it was repaid. The SBA website notes that this loan guarantee was issued under a program “to aid small businesses which are unable to obtain financing in the private credit marketplace.” The government estimated that this subsidy could cost taxpayers $22,419. Bundy did not respond to an email request for comment about the SBA loan.
Back later
Evil spawn Andrea Tantaros made a comment along of the lines of “check the podium for onions”. Vile pieces of shit.
forget the fox haters. has I-voted-against-gun-makers’-product-liability bernie piped in yet?
Nope!

that was pointed out on twitter…as a reason to hold him suspect!

Brilliant cartoon.
well our President is wrong in this one..there are many folks who would like to repeal the 2nd amendment….yup….sure would
