It’s about 41F in Florissant, MO. If I’m so fortunate to rise in the morning, I refuse to let that day’s forecast damping my spirit. I lived in Chicago for 24 years, prior to me relocating “back” to my home State of MO.
I even lived in Wyoming for 3 weeks out of a month for 1.5yrs.

Aid could reach a besieged Syrian village as early as Sunday morning, the World Food Programme said.
A convoy will carry one month’s worth of food and medicine for the 40,000 people trapped in Madaya, a rebel-held town near the Lebanese border.
People there are reported to have been starving to death, with people eating pets and grass to survive.
A similar operation for two government-held villages in the north - Kefraya and Foah - is due on Monday.
Blockades have been a feature of Syria’s civil war but the plight of Madaya has drawn international attention, partly due to images emerging of severely malnourished residents.

Good morning TOD. Yesterday we all heard the Sensational Jobs Numbers—exceeding expectations for December and readjusting the numbers for October and November up by another 50,000 new jobs.
New York City is also doing very well.
Unemployment rate in the city is 4.2!!!
Mayor de Blasio has signed contracts with all the unions. Something the previous mayor had failed to do. Under Bloomberg NYC workers got no new contracts and raises were few and far between.
Mayor de Blasio and Governor Cuomo have been using executive actions to raise the minimum wage to $15.00 for every group they can. Fast food workers, crossing guards, janitorial staff as well as people who work for the City or State.
Crime is down—way down—more people working, wages rose by $78 average per week in NYC this past year.

You talk about a moral buster, someone making less than $10.00 per hour going to $15.00 per hour is a big jump. I applaud the Mayor and the Governor for fighting for hourly workers. You want people to feel as though they have a stake in their community and that they are appreciated.

Many here in India are poor and uneducated. But they are more politically shrewd and demanding than in western democracies. There are no perpetual congress critters and state chief ministers.
Here’s a lesson that needs to be spread to every voter in the US-elect a Democratic governor like California and a Democratic legislature and you get an efficiently operated state AND a budget surplus; elect a Republican governor and a Republican legislature like Kansas and you get massive failure and budget shortfalls; elect a Democratic governor and a Republican legislature like Pennsylvania and you get gridlock.
Yes, Jackie, please spread the word among the good people in PA that you meet.
We’re partisan Dems because we *like* budget surpluses and fiscal responsibility (and also breaks our hearts to see truly needy people on the streets).
People have such short memories, but during the 2008 financial meltdown, school districts here were laying off teachers right and left. That’s why we need a rainy day fund, should the country/state elect another GOP President/Governor (shudder).
IN PA the GOP has control of the state legislator and is in constant battle with the DEM Gov Wolf…but we have seen in recent years many Dems who have been ensnared in the trap of greed and lack of accountability..who have been indicted and some have lost their seats…i seen some Philadelphia watchdog groups blame this on fact that in Philly…Dems out number GOP…by significant margins…they say that perhaps the decadence comes just having one party in control…i have written repeatedly to them that it is a lack of voter participation …active citizenry that is the cause of this more than anything else…
we need active citizens and better candidates…

Yep Gov Jerry Brown is a liberal who likes surpluses for rainy days and I believe we voted for a ‘rainy day’ fund to be at a certain level in case we get another GOP Gov who wants to cut taxes for the wealthy. Gov Brown tells our Dem legislature that the surpluses and the money is not their ‘candy’ jar to raid for whatever they want and ALL of us agree.

Just curious, is anyone experiencing any problems with windows 10? I recently bought a new laptop, and when I downloaded windows 10 onto my laptop it had a mind of its own. Whichever webpage I visited the webpage would change sizes all on its own, and the cursor would move on its own. I’m not sure if it’s the laptop or windows 10 that’s giving me problems.
Most likely your mouse problem. If it is wireless, try changing the battery. If it is wired, unplug and replug.
Yes its wireless and I’ve changed batteries, the laptop is also a touch screen. It’s one of the those all-in-one type of computers, Lenovo.
I have had scrolling problem with my touchpad after w10 upgrade. I have to reenable it every frigging time when I reboot.
Try unplugging and replugging wireless mouse receiver. If that doesn’t work, try a new mouse.
Yes! I have to unplug the computer every time I use it, and I’ve had scrolling problems. Last night I deleted windows 10 from my computer and went back to windows 8.
m$ was threatening to pull out support for w8 around next year.
I’m still using W7 as are 60% of microsoft users - so think we have a year or two
Mr 99 - who always has to use the latest - ended up taking everything off his computer & doing a new install of W10 rather than an upgrade. He tells me that sorted the problems. I’m staying with W7
