I am liking HRC’s desire to keep ACA and build upon it instead of throwing it out and starting over with single payer. Her contention that it was the hardest fought battle in our history and we got it. Now keep working to make it better. Still like MO’M.
Bullshit, Hillary, that you could go anywhere and meet with anyone and foster better cooperation in D.C. When you were First Lady, half the damn Congress was out to get you, and you weren’t even an elected official at that time … I remember all of it …
… not quite as badly as they have been out to stop President Obama’s agenda through two terms - because he’s the President and you weren’t - but give it a rest. Nobody knows for sure if you could handle the RWNJs in D.C. - or if anyone could - better than President Obama. It’s all up for the grabs, just like this election is. IMHO.
And even that we hear from her, in hindsight. And yet her campaign folks are quick to state she deserves partial credit for the eventual Iran Deal. Which is it?
“This was an attempt to get the candidates to speak ill of PBO.”
Exactly, PrettyFoot! I am disappointed that the Democratic candidates are not forthrightly speaking out about the real cause of divisiveness in the country! President Obama has heroically tried to reach out to Republicans; but instead of Republicans meeting him half-way with an open hand they’ve chosen to respond to everything he tries to do with an angry clenched fist. And the media, instead of being honest and calling out the Republicans for their unrelenting divisiveness, have been enabling the Republicans by insinuating that President Obama is to blame for the bitter divisions in the country. To this day, I still can’t think of what President Obama could have done differently to win over people who have such a deep seated hatred of him because of who he is and not just what his policies are all about. If President Obama discovered a cure for cancer, the right wingers who have such a visceral hatred of him, including those with cancer, would still find away to attack and denigrate his discovery.
Dems have their own version of ODS…. Bernie Sanders who mouths all his leftist rhetoric cannot deal with the centrality of racism…and how it drives not only income inequality but keeps the GOP in power by feeding fear and hatred in white voters….
This is why the DEM Candidates fall short…although they all spoke on some level about police terror…they were not able to talk about the centrality of racism in this society and its impact in all aspects of our society
I am glad she is finally getting a clue! There are tens of millions of us who LOVE President Obama and are very “proud of Obamacare.” I am absolutely certain that no Democratic Candidate can win the presidency in 2016 without the dedicated supporters of President Obama. There are many strong supporters of President Obama who refuse to be taken for granted by Democratic candidates who run against the agenda and accomplishments of President Obama.
I will say … even when he gets really intense about something, I’ve seen him more than once look directly into Hillary’s face … and kind of give her an endearing look. As if to say, I respect women, I’m not one of those who don’t, and don’t take what I’m going to say personally.
I’ve been fooled before, but I think I’m reading this correctly.
Oh, and, Bernie, Don wants you to clear your throat.
Her stand on ACA and Gun Control may firm up my vote. Martin is having to talk so fast when he finally gets a turn to speak that his tongue trips up on his own words. As Prez he could speak a little slower to correct that problem. Not feeling it with Bernie.
Yes. I just had a discouraging conversation with my daughter. She teaches at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor which is a liberal bastion for sure. She says her facebook feed is full of people her age (30) and younger supporting Sanders. She says they feel like the Democratic party doesn’t speak to their needs, it’s a ‘center right’ party. They feel the whole government doesn’t represent them. They are mad because they don’t care about gay marriage, etc. and those battles are still being fought. They are mad because they don’t see the improvement in the economy, wages are low and they expected the economy to have fully recovered by now. They are disillusioned with President Obama because there are no jobs, low wage jobs, student debt, etc. (My daughter is supporting Hillary because she believes Sanders can’t win and probably won’t be able to get anything done if he does,) She and I agree that they are mostly people who don’t really follow politics, and are just generally angry at stuff. They are probably not reliable voters anyway. She thinks that the Sanders supporters she sees are responding to him for the same reasons people are attracted to Trump: they have this inchoate anger and he is saying things they want to hear.
Please forgive me, but these young people are either misinformed or they are naive! I dare any one to tell me that the country is economically worse off to day than it was when President Obama took office in 2009. The auto industry was saved along with millions of workers. Unemployment has been cut in half from 10% t0 5%. Consumers now have an a federal agency that protects them from predatory lenders. Students no longer have to pay exhobitant interests on their student loans. Responding to manufactured outrages instead of fact based reality is a recipe for disaster! I hope the Sanders’ supporters will learn from history: John Anderson supporters gave us Ronald Reagan and Ralph Nader supporters gave us George W. Bush.
I agree, nathkatun, and so did my daughter. They are naive and misinformed. These are people who are not politically active, don’t pay much attention, and see concerned only when things affect them immediately and personally. Unfortunately, I also see this with people old enough to know better. They are real Obama supporters who think he’s been a great president, but Sanders is the guy who’s just going to demand single payer health care-and get it! He’s going you demand campaign finance reform-and get it! He’s going to demand money out of politics and break up the big banks-and get it! And since one referred Clinton as a lying sack of shit for saying that Sanders’ health care program could result in puerile listing insurance, I’m not sure they’ll vote for her if she’s the nominee.
… and yelling, interrupting, and talking over people. He acts like Congress doesn’t have to pass Medicare for all and his other lefty fantasies. Oh Goddess, please NOT Bernie!
I’m not watching the debate (I already have a headache) so I’m interested to know that he behaves like this in person. Up to now I didn’t know if it was really him or just his supporters.
Bernie Sanders has been in Congress for more than a quarter of a century, yet I can’t find any “revolutionary” legislation that he has initiated and passed that was signed into law by a president. Moreover, why is Bernie running as a Democrat? The last time I checked, he is identified as Independent Senator from Vermont! Obviously, he does not subscribe to basic Democratic ideas and principles.
Oh, yeah, but now I forgot what sentence he used it in.

My biggest problem with Bernie is for the number of years in Congress I see no important legislation authored and passed. He did start the process after he was running for the presidency, but not before then. I see Bernie as belligerent and hard to work with. I have heard journalists say he is mean and grouchy not the kindly old gentleman that he is being portrayed as. Not sure about that comment though as journalists opinions are more than questionable to me.
That was my impression too, although I’ve also read others that speak more kindly of him. I think I ready that sinse starting his run for president he has introduced more bill than every before. I also was told that he has been cosponsor on many bills. My impression is that he may be hard to work with. I also wonder, after so much time in the Senate, why he chose to run now. And I think that although hes been in the federal government for a long time, he’s been there representing a small state with a very homogeneous population. I don’t know that it translates well to the world stage.
JER, It seems to me that when it comes to attacks on President Obama, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to differiciante the corporate U.S. Media from the GOP. The corporate U.S. media routinely resort to GOP’s propaganda talking points to attack, critique, and denigrate President Obama.
How NBC staged the intro of the debate was appalling. Go back and watch it for the first minute or so - the photographs they used were the worst of the lot, for all three Dem candidates. It was like those wild pictures everybody has in their yearbooks. None of that is ever “by accident.” Totally jaded, as usual.
Me?
Yes, you!
Couldn’t be.
Then who?
yes you!
congrats!
Evening TOD:)

The only way you get an airport named after you around here is that you have to sell arms to Iran to help finance a secret war in central America.

Love that Raw Video….I just love this man. I just love his mind…

That Trump is a mean tweeter.
M’OM kicked ass on the gun question:) Good for him. Bernie looked like he swallowed a bag of cotton

HRC #AchillesHeel:
If this motherfucker mentions big money in politics one more time I’m going to scream.
lmao. If by “mention” you mean “spitting/yelling” then I think you are in for a full night of it.
I am liking HRC’s desire to keep ACA and build upon it instead of throwing it out and starting over with single payer. Her contention that it was the hardest fought battle in our history and we got it. Now keep working to make it better. Still like MO’M.
I like her points on that, as well.

Apparently going anywhere and meeting with anyone does not extent to the Iranians.
And even that we hear from her, in hindsight. And yet her campaign folks are quick to state she deserves partial credit for the eventual Iran Deal. Which is it?
This was a an attempt to get the candidates to speak ill of PBO
Of course. If they could phrase every question that way, they would. Grrrrr.
“This was an attempt to get the candidates to speak ill of PBO.”

I think Hillary’s getting to Bernie. He may haul off and punch her arm or something.
I think Hillary just went for the kill shot.
Martin O’Malley would like to speak. Or he has to go potty. Not sure why he’s jumping up and down on one foot like that.
Martin calls out Hillary: “NOW you bring up President Obama here in South Carolina … ”
So transparent.
Yep, she’s going to ride that pony come hell or high water.
I guess we’re supposed to be grateful.
It seems that both Hillary and Bernie absolutely love President Obama.
Yes. Tonight, especially. There in South Carolina.
It’s almost like someone took a math course.
Yep.
Poor Martin O’Malley, he’s trying his best.
Can someone please tell Bernie to clear his throat.
Ha!
I will say … even when he gets really intense about something, I’ve seen him more than once look directly into Hillary’s face … and kind of give her an endearing look. As if to say, I respect women, I’m not one of those who don’t, and don’t take what I’m going to say personally.

Go Serena. Australian Open 2016. Time difference is gonna kill me!!!!
Her stand on ACA and Gun Control may firm up my vote. Martin is having to talk so fast when he finally gets a turn to speak that his tongue trips up on his own words. As Prez he could speak a little slower to correct that problem. Not feeling it with Bernie.
Eek. NBC! When you’re going to insert Chuck Todd’s idiocy, while everybody on stage hits the head, warn a freakin’ person.
I had to make skid marks to the remote. It was a close call but I hit the mute button just in time.
It was either dive-bomb over the coffee table for me, to grab the remote, or listen to his voice for a half-minute. Next time I’ll dive-bomb.
LMAO ……

That’s fabulous. Guy’s more bored than I am.
Am I horrible that I choose Hill because I can’t abide Bern’s way of waving his hands around?
… and yelling, interrupting, and talking over people. He acts like Congress doesn’t have to pass Medicare for all and his other lefty fantasies. Oh Goddess, please NOT Bernie!
Honestly, it’s amazing that he’s survived this long in politics. But Hill seems to enjoy letting him be her ‘lefty translator’ and designated foil.
I’m not watching the debate (I already have a headache) so I’m interested to know that he behaves like this in person. Up to now I didn’t know if it was really him or just his supporters.

…and something is wrong with his throat.
Serena look good tonight, she won the match 6-4 and 7-5.
Much more fun and beautiful to watch than the debates.
New post.

Is it just me or does it sound like Bernie keeps harping on the same thing till you are sick of hearing about it?
It’s not you- it’s him. Presumably, this is the final debate, and we won’t have to listen to him any more.
How NBC staged the intro of the debate was appalling. Go back and watch it for the first minute or so - the photographs they used were the worst of the lot, for all three Dem candidates.
