I remember trying to get to a rehearsal with my first boyfriend - we had 88 cents between us, and we got 3 gallons of gas.
Ah yes, I remember the 25 cent gallon days. I could get a dollars worth of gas at a time. But frequently ended up running out of gas in my 1952 Dodge pick up in the same place. Always carried a gas can with me.
Gas prices are still very high in California. Gas stations in my neighborhood, owned by Shell, Mobil, and Chevoron, are still Charging about $3.59 a gallon. Some independent gas stations, outside my neighborhood, are charging between $2.69 and $2.79 a gallon.

True story. I grew up in a suburb of New York and loved nothing more than getting on a train and enjoying a day in the city-at the theater, the museums or just shopping. It is and always will be my beloved city. After I had moved away for many years, I came back in the early eighties to attend a convention and was walking up Fifth Avenue with a friend, reliving memories. We passed this enormous building with the words TRUMP on top, a name I was blessedly unfamiliar with at the time. I remember turning to my friend and saying, “What egomaniac put that vulgar thing up?” The next Trump crap I saw was the utterly garish Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, which is a lounge lizard’s idea of class. Trump has got the worst possible taste and the sensibility of wrecking ball.

The transgender actress and gender-rights activist “outed” the married couple with a Facebook post that argued that Mr. and Mrs. Smith’s comments on race and the Oscars were invalid because they won’t ’fess up about their alleged homosexuality.
Ms. Arquette’s comments are gossip. I don’t believe in outing people anyways. That’s a private matter.
If Jada and Will want to boycott the Oscars because of its lack of diversity, they are welcome to do so. I won’t be watching either. I’m sick of the Oscars acting as if there are no talented and skilled Black, Latino, Asian, Native American, etc., actors/actresses.

THIS is the “family values” of the GOP. Last week there were two Republican Muslims who wanted to meet with Donald Trump and give him another view of Muslims. NPR host asked if they would vote for ILL Douche if he became the nominee and they out say. The host also asked why they are Republicans and they said, because of their stance on ‘Family Values’. Translation, against abortions and they keep women down.
In 2008 when Palin was announced as VP running mate to McCain I spent a couple weeks researching her as I had lived in Juneau, AK for ten years as a teacher and had lots of connections. One thing I found out from friends independently from one another was that Track had gotten in trouble for vandalism in Juneau. He had been given a choice by a judge to join the military over Juvenile Delinquency Home. That is the down low from locals. On the national scene Sarah Palin bragged about her son serving in the military. There was no press about the delinquency charge due to his being under age. I did find a newspaper article about vandalism with no names mentioned that bore out friends claims. So hearing this latest news about Track does not surprise me.
This is one dysfunctional family! And right wingers who worship Sarah, “the quitter from Wasilla,” have the audacity to preach family values to others.
