Morning. We were all young in January, 2009, no matter what our age, because we were all filled with joy and our hearts were hopeful. I remember feeling so good about my fellow Americans, smiling at everybody on the street and in stores. I wish with all my heart that I could feel that way again.

My first reaction when I heard that SP was endorsing DT was , “The stupid has been confirmed.” But beyond that, I felt there was a money factor involved. No way do I believe that she made this endorsement without there being something in it for her. Trump was probably the highest bidder.

This has to be a primary strategy. I would suspect she will be distanced as soon as her usefulness has reached is peak. An SP link to DT in the general would most certainly do more harm to the [what I hope is the] little chance he has; especially if that link includes a promised position in a [ugh] Trump administration [gag; got a migraine just thinking that]…IMHO.

    Good morning TOD!
    Congratulations Swbluega!
    What beautiful memories!

Ms. Chips, you sure knew what I needed to counteract ” that woman” being defrosted from the Alaska ice and snow.
Now, that fool” old man” Meds have decided to kick in seven years later, we still have to be subjected to more double amounts of consistent ignorance from “this and that.”

As you can see I am having a very difficult time even writing their names.
Saying it causes an unnerving twitch……
Time for my morning walk in Central Park. I really need it today.

LDS, that silly Alaska lady isn’t worth getting irritated about. She’s a loser in every possible way and the only sad thing is that anyone in his right mind, which seems to exclude Trump and Cruz, thinks her endorsement is worth spit.

Df, everyone should read this piece. Every level of government in Michigan failed the people of Flint. The mistake of voting for an evil and incompetent governor-twice-is one the people of Michigan, especially the children of Flint, will be paying for for the rest of their lives.

Teachers can have legal repercussions if they even *suspect* that a child is being abused and don’t report it. Yet, Snyder, at least so far, seems to be getting away with what amounts to murder/attempted murder. A recall would just be a slap on the wrist.

      • 38 jackiegrumbacher
        January 20, 2025 at 9:19 am

This man needs to be made to pay, not just with jail time, but by being fined for all his net worth to provide medical care for the affected children.

          GE amk.

It’s just so weird — feel like I’m in a time warp.

Not just vc who is confused by time zones, calendar dates, seasons, etc. whenever PBO travels abroad or when talking to you, vc and others not on mainland USA/Canada (don’t have a clue about time zones in Mexico :( ).

          • 46 amk for obama
            January 20, 2025 at 8:56 am

Time zones are based on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)[citation needed], the mean solar time at longitude 0° (the Prime Meridian). The time derived from atomic clocks is adjusted because the rate of rotation of the Earth is not constant. In January 1972 Coordinated Universal Time was introduced with the length of the second equal to the second of atomic time. The readings of atomic clocks are averaged to give a uniform time scale.

Because the length of the average day is currently 0.002 second more than 24 hours of atomic time, leap seconds are periodically inserted into Coordinated Universal Time to make it approximate to UT1. Because the Earth’s rotation is gradually slowing, leap seconds will need to be added more frequently in the future. However, from one year to the next the rotation rate is slightly irregular, so leap seconds are not added unless observations of Earth’s rotation show that one is needed. In this way, local times will continue to stay close to mean solar time and the effects of variations in Earth’s rotation rate will be confined to simple step changes relative to the uniform time scale (International Atomic Time or TAI). All local times differ from TAI by an integral number of seconds. With the implementation of UTC, nations began to use it in the definition of their time zones. As of 2005, most nations had altered the definition of local time in this way. British Summer Time (BST) is still one hour in advance of Greenwich Mean Time and is therefore approximately equal to UTC+1. Thus Greenwich Mean Time is the local time at the Royal Observatory, Greenwich between 01:00 GMT on the last Sunday in October and 01:00 GMT on the last Sunday in March.

            see? easypeasy.

Good to see some sanity on the SC. Republicans, sadly, never give up, which is why they’re always fighting against Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and anything else that actually helps people. They look for their opponents to blink, or show some sign of weakness and then they come in for the kill.

    • 65 amk for obama
      January 20, 2025 at 9:12 am

Sissel’s challenge is backed by none other than GOP presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who filed an amicus brief in the case with fellow Republican Sens. John Cornyn (Texas) and Mike Lee (Utah), arguing that the Senate overstepped its authority in crafting the ACA.

      ///

The high court is not fond of Origination Clause challenges, viewing them as largely political questions, not legal ones, and it has never overturned a law based on one. As Constitutional Accountability Center Chief Counsel Elizabeth Wydra noted in a press release Tuesday, “It is hardly surprising that the Court has refused to hear this case…[T]he ultimate outcome of challenges like this one aren’t in doubt. They are simply meritless. The Court upheld the ACA for the second time just last June, with Chief Justice Roberts picking up a sixth vote to send a clear signal that he’s had enough of what has become a blatant ideological crusade. One questions whether anti-Obamacare legal activists have gotten the message.”

he is a legal eagle, my foot.

i see racist moron michael moore is trying to put the flint water crisis on president obama. you’d think being this wrong and stupid would make someone humble, or at least keep them out of “the news” as a commentator on anything (but of course we know why he’s still given the megaphone over and over). Here is how the “progressive” choses to help the most liberal president in our lifetimes win just a month before the last election:
