We went to the HRC speech this afternoon in North Liberty, IA ā long lines, Secret Service security reviews, and a 75-minute wait. But they actually started on time! :-) HRC was introduced by Cecile Richards, who I think is awesome. Great event. Wow! Cam Newton and Carolina Panthers have been dominating some good teams. They have to be a favorite going into the Super Bowl. I really like the fact that he gives away those game balls to kids in the stadium, and each time he does it he forfeits $25K in fines from his own salary. So I have read.
They are currently -5.5pt favorites…that was at the end of the 3rd Q. I donāt know if it has changed due to Thomas Davis LB, breaking his arm 2nd Q, the availability of Roman Harper S (also injured in the 2nd Q) and DE Jared Allen (who was put on IR for this game, but could possibly play in 2 weeks) That 25K fine story is some dumb sports blogger who wanted to get some shine and went viral….you are only fined by the NFL 25k if you throw the football into the stands, not if you hand the ball to kids like Cam does.

āWe have to let go of judgment,ā a young Barack Obama tells a group of frustrated community activists, encouraging them to place themselves in the shoes of those theyāre up against. While most of the intended viewers for āSouthside With Youā are probably already inclined to listen to their president, itās nice to think at least a few non-supporters in the audience might be moved by the spirit of empathy that suffuses this soulful and disarmingly romantic snapshot of Obamaās fateful first date with Michelle Robinson on a summer day in 1989 Chicago, long before either guessed theyād someday be president and First Lady of the United States. On the surface a mellow and agreeably meandering āBefore Sunriseā-style walkabout, Richard Tanneās writing-directing debut deepens into a pointed, flowing conversation about the many challenges (and varieties) of African-American identity, the need for both idealism and compromise, and the importance of making peace with past disappointments in order to effect meaningful change in the future.

I thought I was the only one who thought like this, JOāB, hence I said nothing. It doesnāt matter how good an actor/actress is involved, it all just seems like ‘make believeā and too much too soon for me. Indeed, why settle for the ‘playā when you have access to the reality?
