Well at least its getting out there. I know OFA supporters that have taken up the Sanders campaign in their hearts. Maybe this will give them second thoughts.
Me, too! The two Sander’s supporters that I know from OFA will vote for Hillary, if he doesn’t win the primary. They know what a disaster any republican will be.
Good afternoon everyone. My anger is very deep and very strong. I have friends who are big Bernie supporters that I know don’t understand what is happening. I know one of these days I will have to explain it to them, They use to live in Vermont and love Bernie, but they aren’t Obama haters. They don’t see what Bernie has done yet. We’ll see what happens in Iowa and NH.
mtmarilyn, sometimes when we are comfortable with someone we tend to overlook or not see at all their flaws. They don’t necessarily have to be Obama haters to not grasp his message, it could be that they are more comfortable and receptive of Bernie for whatever reason.
I agree with you Don. These folks have been good PBO supporters, but they come from white Vermont and now live here in white Montana. I know they don’t see what we see and they don’t fully understand white privilege. I do know at some point we will talk about it.
I also have several friend who say they will never vote for Hilliary but aren’t Bernie supporters. We have a long season to go yet. I just pray Hilliary stays with the President and nothing to crazy happens.
I think PBO will bring some inspiration to HRC’s campaign if she is the nominee. I am not sure if there is any help for a lot of these Bernie supporters. He has a large following of young supporters. I don’t mean to offend anyone, but I think some are just jumping on the bandwagon without giving it a lot of thought.
My hard to relate to daughter-in-law who has a nasty temper and a “I know everything you know nothing even though you spent your life working in that area and I have no experience in the field” latched onto Bernie instantly posting his views everywhere on media. My son has been converted by her as she is a total bossy person. I speak to him on the phone either on his lunch hour or right before he goes home once or twice a week trying to slowly get through to him about why Bernie is not the right Dem to vote for all the while fitting it into a normal conversation. I am not worried about his voting GOP, but I am worried getting Bernie into office may be as damaging towards PBO’s accomplishments as getting in a Republican. Only with Bernie it could be an innocent destruction vs GOP being intentional.
COS, PBO will go all in for Hillary WHEN she is the nominee and so will VP Biden, FLOTUS and VFLOTUS. He will go to campuses and and cities and he will charm everyone in sight. PBO will also ask a lot of popular artists to endorse HRC and he will fund raise for her like crazy as well as for down ticket races. Remember that Hillary has donated millions to down ticket Dems, while Sanders has donated zero. She will have huge institutional support. One thing I do know about millennials is that it takes a lot to actually get them to vote, rather than just talk. Nobody is better at rallying young people than PBO.
I have been having those three foot talks with those that don’t feel comfortable with Hillary sharing the information I have found that makes me feel better and better about the choice. They listen.
President Obama has a mutual mindset. Power over mindsets don’t feel comfortable with him because of that. They want to be lording over someone not sharing power with them
Had a brief break, so here’s something really cool ….
Lazy Sunday? @AVAETC 's @ArrayNow released South African drama 'Ayanda" on Netflix https://t.co/hLaL8uMoCq pic.twitter.com/ujI4zmXXPI
— She Leads Africa (@SheLeadsAfrica) January 31, 2025
“Two of our favorite movies of last year made their Netflix debuts this week.
If you recall, Ayanda and Out Of My Hand were simultaneously picked up in the latter part of 2015 by Ava DuVernay’s Array, a Los Angeles-based arts collective dedicated to propelling films made by women and people of color.
Sara Blecher’s South African drama Ayanda centers around the coming-of-age story of a 21-year-old woman in Johannesburg (played by Fulu Mugovhani) as she fights to save the car repair shop she’s inherited from her late father. Okayafrica’s Patrice Peck calls the film “as ambitious, stylish and audacious as the 21-year-old ‘Afro-hipster’ for whom the movie is named.”
Takeshi Fukunaga’s Out Of My Hand follows one man’s journey from a Liberian rubber plantation to the “Little Liberia” community of Staten Island, New York, where he’s haunted by ghosts of his wartime past. Okayafrica’s Aaron Leaf calls it the anti-Beasts of No Nation: “a movie about child soldiers that, in a refreshing twist on the genre, has no scenes of child soldiering.””
This was when I finally believed that he could win and was all in, fired up and ready to go.He has been more and done more than ever dared dream. What a blessing he is to the country and to the world. His name means blessed and so have we been.
Bill Press book, Cornel West, Michael Sainato HP article about how America deserve a First Lady who represent them. And that First Lady is Jane Sanders. Sanders and his supporters sure is making me not want to vote for him.
Bella, they are twins. Neither one has any credibility. Smiley still holds a grudge because PBO did not attend his bitchfest thing In New Orleans while he was in the middle of his campaign. PBO offered to send FLOTUS but that was not good enough for him.
MSM is in a lather now about Iowa caucuses. Good thing I’m busy tomorrow, won’t check on the Twitter onslaught until late.
Here in the real world (h/t Alan Jackson C&W singer), the Pentagon delivers its budget to WH on Feb 2 (IIRC), and the President will release his budget the following week on Feb 9 (IIRC), the same day as NH primary (first actual ballots cast for 2016 campaign) — WH is letting Americans know what PBO’s budget priorities are in advance (see this weekend’s Weekly Media Address, allocating funds for computer skills education).
Here’s a preview of NH Dem events next week:
So Dems will have some form of a cattle call 3 nights in a row in NH: CNN forum, NBC debate, state party dinner #FITN
— Mike Memoli (@mikememoli) January 31, 2025
Of course Obots will be on the edge of our seats for Feb 10, when President Obama starts the ball rolling for Dems by reminding the country of what happened 9 years ago that day.
MSM has been even more clueless than ever this campaign cycle (no doubt because their year-end bonuses are tied to the number of ways/articles they #BlameObama for everything under the sun), but I think they are going to be shocked (and silenced?) at the excitement PBO generates on the Dem campaign trail, starting with the DNC in July.
@davidplouffe @metaquest .@POTUS trolls MSM who are clueless re: excitement he will generate on #2016campaign trailhttps://t.co/KWfRWF1UYx
I can’t force myself to read that. Tell me he didn’t actually say that on CNN. Wonder when ol’ Bernie will come out and say it doesn’t represent his views.
OMG. Well, here’s a thought. Maybe the MI government can’t move out each and every resident of Flint - man, woman, and child - but they can certainly move all the inmates to a jail outside of Flint. Snyder needs to go to prison over every aspect of all of this.
They need to move everybody out - or replace ALL the pipes. Both will cost millions more than the option they originally chose to save money. Can a state go bankrupt?
Not a clue jojo - and the governor seems to be doing little other than spin and blame the feds. He lied to the EPA and now blames the EPA because they believed the lies.
Most of the world still sees him as being from America - and as representing a large part of the GOP. It would be perfect if he was legally stopped from running for President - but somewhat unlikely.
Wow. Just read this. So glad to hear the probable Dem nominee talk about Environmental Justice. I must say, although I haven’t forgotten and will never forgive her ’08 campaign bs, I am feeling better and better about her this time around.
President Obama has certainly forgiven her and clearly sees her as the best way to preserving his gains and to building on his legacy. Senator Sanders shows nothing but disrespect for our beloved President with his palling around with Cornell West and endorsing Bill Press’s book.
MS, Hillary is learning and growing and that, to me, is a sign that she will be a good president. I deeply suspect those, like Bernie, who are so wedded to one ideology that they see everything through a single prism. Clinton spent four years working with PBO and she learned first hand how brilliant he is, how strategic he is in his thinking, and how capable he is of growing and changing, which are all hallmarks of a great leader. Every time I hear a Bernie supporter speak, I become more and more enthusiastic about Hillary Clinton. She will face enormous bigotry because of the deep seated misogyny that defines much of the American male psyche and that’s one of the factors that push me to work very hard for her. PBO also regards her as his natural heir and that, too, is a big motivating factor for me.
And that is something he well should/could have avoided. If a child rebuffs you - you play it against yourself - Cruz looks like he wants to take it out on the child.
My darling grandbabe walks in the door - right past me & says “Grandpa gets the first hug” - last thing I do is argue about that!
Wow! This video sure says a lot about their relationship. She can’t even look at him, and pulls away when he tries to hug and kiss her. So the complete opposite of our PBO and family. Tells you so much about what kind of a president TC would be. As has been said so many times here, babies, and I also thing children, can sense the true character of someone far better than adults.
how about the slapping his hands away multiple times while yelling, “ow, ow!!” that can be a sign of something really wrong happens behind closed doors…
her reaction is so over the top, my antenna are up as to something really weird happens in that household, not that i would need to see this to think that, but wow, she’s extreme in her distaste for her own father. what a deeply creepy person ted cruz is…
Exactly, Mary! Kids at that age express how they feel because they’ve yet not been programmed. It’s obvious that Ted Cruz has not shown his daughter any parental warmth. Consequently, she probably wanted nothing to do with him because she was tired of being forced to parade for the cameras.
Dayum! Children know don’t they? Contrast this with all of the love and trust that children from all over the world are so willing to give PBO. This video is all anyone needs to know about Rafael Cruz.
Just got home from working and wanted to share a thought I had today:
You know how Bernie Sanders’ answer when people question how he will get his single payer healthcare/big banks break-up/free college tuition/campaign finance reform agenda through Congress is that he will inspire the people to rise up and protest and that this will somehow convince lawmakers to hold hands and make his socialist dreams come true?
What I would like to ask him and his supporters is this; just how well did that plan work out for Occupy Wall Street?
I mean, the 99%ers were living in Zuccotti Park for over two months straight and protesting in other places around the country repeatedly that year. They got a huge amount of support and press. Eventually, most of the protesters got bored and tired and went home. The big banks did not get broken up, student loan debt was not wiped away, there is still income inequality and Citizens United is still a thing.
How exactly would the BernieBots get bills written and passed that OWS couldn’t?
BTW, I still remember how the OWS protesters refused to let Rep. John Lewis speak when he went to lend support to their encampment, but they were all starry-eyed and attentive when Slavoj Zizek read them a poem. It’s the same sh*t that we’re seeing now with many of the Berniebots - disregard those who actually do the long, slow, hard work of making change in favor of some Utopian fantasy.
And I’m one of those who called my Congress person and Senators about the ACA in the summer of 2009. My friend was visiting from Italy that year and he commented later to his family how impressed he was about the fact that I just called up their offices directly to give my opinion and that someone actually listened and seemed to care. I guess that doesn’t happen in Italy. I told him that, unfortunately, the majority of citizens don’t take advantage of this access and make their voices heard.
President Obama provided a structure. He trained the people who would train the volunteers. He had a smoothly running campaign form the beginning. Sanders team, led by 3 time loser campaign manager, seems to be all over the place. Maybe Sanders doesn’t want to get his hands dirty with day to day details, or maybe he doesn’t have the knowledge and is leaving it to others, but it looks like amateur hour to me. He’s constantly having to walk back things that have been said, the fuss with the logos and union t-shirts, the data mess; if PBO’s campaign had been run like he wouldn’t have made it pat Iowa.
This latest trend to disparage PBO will prove the undoing of every lame brain who indulges in it. I have even seen some over on FB likening thebern to being a ‘Jedi Master’, at the same time diminishing all the incredible accomplishments of PBO, by saying he ‘should have, could have and if he would have’, as if any single one of them has a freaking clue what it must be like to step into the role of president. So many before him have truly failed, PBO has shown mastery every single step of the dark way, and brought Light with him, all around the planet. So, they can all STFU for all the credibility they totally lack. It reeks of insecurity. Not a single one is of the caliber our PBO, not a single one.
What stuns me that Sanders has been in government so long and HE seems to have no concept of the job of being president. If he does, he’s certainly not conveying it to his supporters.
http://www.communitydinners.com Check out these guys, there is change afoot, and of a tremendously helpful nature. Learned today there will be 3 dinner churches opening in the Detroit area, soon. This is a good thing, a very good thing. <3
Wow those pants. Not to my liking, but you go on Cam with your bad self. You wear them well. Can you imagine Peyton or Brady in a pair of these pants? :)
Why is that every single senior member of the military establishment that leaves the Obama administration trashes the President and profits off him by writing a book, doing t.v. hits, getting plum university faculty gigs, named to boards of Fortune 500’s etc….for ex. Bob Gates, Panetta, Stravridis, and this fool to name a few:

It is pretty obvious who was leaking crap to undermine administration policy when this RW fool and Eli Lake would always pre-but an announcement and get McCain/Graham OTR quotes for every article to give it *credibility*…like a broken record!

I hope the next D president nominates Sen. Jack Reed for Defense Sec. I’m tired of these RW fuckers. I understood keeping Gates on so PBO could cover his flank, but all these MFs Patraeus, current SecDef Carter, and those of their ilk are backstabbers. Brennan is the only loyal dude and that is why Senate hates him.
The super PAC dedicated to former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush’s flagging campaign for the GOP presidential nomination raised $15 million in the second half of the year ― a massive drop-off from the $103 million it raised in the first half ― according to a report filed Sunday night with the Federal Election Commission.
///
The FEC report showed that the majority of the second-half haul ― $10 million ― came from a New York company called C.V. Starr & Co., Inc., which owns and operates insurance agencies.
The CEO and chairman of the company is Hank Greenberg, who, while Bush was governor of Florida, donated $1 million to help the state recover from a series of hurricanes.
At the time, Greenberg headed the multinational insurance company AIG, which became a symbol of Wall Street irresponsibility when the Federal Reserve bailed out the company during the 2008 financial crisis.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s campaign raised almost $3 million in the last three months of 2015 but has only a little over $1 million cash on hand, the campaign confirmed on Sunday evening.
Those fundraising numbers represent a bit of a decline from the third quarter, when Christie’s campaign reported raising a little more than $4.2 million and had $1.3 million cash on hand.
The latest fundraising report, first reported by the Washington Post, comes ahead of the first voting of the primary season, with the Iowa caucuses on Monday. Christie is not expected to place in the top four in Iowa, despite holding last-minute campaign events with Iowa’s popular Gov. Terry Branstad (the governor has said he has no plans to endorse Christie or any other candidate, though he has spoken out against Texas Sen. Ted Cruz).
For Bernie Sanders to have his name firmly planted at the top of a cover of a book titled “Buyer’s Remorse” at the beginning of Black History Month chills me to the bone. I have to contain my potty mouth as I write this. I know I don’t comment much, but this makes me want to throw things. If I had to make a decision between the “independent” white haired old man who thinks “revolutions” start and stop with entitled college boys and the one leading the polls on the other side, I’d be hard pressed.
I know there’s a Supreme Court judge or two who might retire, but what he’d do to down ticket dems with his “raise taxes for everyone” would destroy our chances to take back the Senate, just to one point. Plus, if by some miracle he won the general election, I’m not even sure he’d replace a Supreme Court judge with a good one. I’m also afraid we’d lose the presidency for a decade or two after he disappointed his “feel the berners” with all his empty promises if he made it to the Whitehouse. The thought keeps me up at night and if it gets that far, I’d have to seriously weigh if it would be better to have our country destroyed by a crazy white man who says he’s now a republican or a crazy even older white man who says he’s temporarily a democrat.
To say I will miss our President Obama more than I care to admit is an understatement. We all will.
Keep up the good work, all of you. I’m always here reading and encouraging each and every one of you.
What would we do without our Chips and everyone who contributes here? Also, David Plouffe said it perfectly.
I checked the book - Buyer’s Remorse - and didn’t see Bernie Sanders’s name planted at the top. His name and one of his many rants do appear under the section THE REALITY, on page 17. That doesn’t exculpate Sanders at all. In fact, his words in the book are used to give credence to the critics that claim that supporters of POTUS have all been “disappointed”. For that, I’ll never forgive him nor forgive his leftist purity. He is simply the mirror version of Il Douche, in every way.
Tonight, I don’t even know where to begin. I am so disgusted with Sanders’s polls and his shot at a victory for the Democratic nomination. For one, I don’t think this man can win in November. If he could, I’ll forgive him all his sins against this administration. And the list is quite long. But my anxiety tells me that should he win because of the “excitement of the many young people” on board of his train, we are heading for trouble. Those progressives that are so called “disappointed” should invest in VALIUM because they will need quite a lot when President Bernie will not deliver free college, free housing, free healthcare, free water, free infrastructure on account of 70% taxes from the BILLIONAIRES and MILLIONAIRES.
They’d better start taking it before then. He’ll be attacked about every word he’s said over his long time in politics; how he’s trashed Democrats, criticized PBO, doesn’t believe in capitalism, everything. In fact, Sanders had better start taking some too. He doesn’t take kindly to even mold criticism.
Hey Chips and TOD.
Plouffe is spot on. I mentioned Bill Press pimping this book last week on his show. I am sure he is getting a lot of negative responses.
I know he did. I tweeted him my displeasure and they actually retweeted it. Like they were proud.
Why does this remind me of the delusion of the Malheur Refuge gang. They thought the world would embrace them because their own cult members did. There is a cult on the left that has built its identify on disparaging the President. They also think they are lauded and admired and the country’s Democrats will flock to them. Guess again.

She will face enormous bigotry because of the deep seated misogyny that defines much of the American male psyche and that’s one of the factors that push me to work very hard for her. PBO also regards her as his natural heir and that, too, is a big motivating factor for me.
Even his daughter
Wow! Look and listen voters. You don’t want to vote for a man whose own young kids repel him.
He deserves that - :D :D :D :D
And that is something he well should/could have avoided. If a child rebuffs you - you play it against yourself - Cruz looks like he wants to take it out on the child.
My darling grandbabe walks in the door - right past me & says “Grandpa gets the first hug” - last thing I do is argue about that!
That’s the truth about Ted Cruz.
Wow! This video sure says a lot about their relationship. She can’t even look at him, and pulls away when he tries to hug and kiss her. So the complete opposite of our PBO and family. Tells you so much about what kind of a president TC would be. As has been said so many times here, babies, and I also thing children, can sense the true character of someone far better than adults.
how about the slapping his hands away multiple times while yelling, “ow, ow!!” that can be a sign of something really wrong happens behind closed doors…
her reaction is so over the top, my antenna are up as to something really weird happens in that household, not that i would need to see this to think that, but wow, she’s extreme in her distaste for her own father. what a deeply creepy person ted cruz is…
Me, too. I know he’s creepy and awful, but his daughter’s behavior indicates something worse.
She may just be deeply angry at being there and being used as a photo op. It shows he’s completely out of tune with her.
Exactly, Mary! Kids at that age express how they feel because they’ve yet not been programmed. It’s obvious that Ted Cruz has not shown his daughter any parental warmth. Consequently, she probably wanted nothing to do with him because she was tired of being forced to parade for the cameras.
Jeez, the creepy punk so wanted to use his daughter for a photo-op. Look at his furtive glance at the photographer.
Wow! I realize even loving children can behave badly sometimes; he should know when to back off. In 8 years we have never seen anything close to that!
Right, Madame Soph! Also PBO energized OFA and other citizens to write, call and email legislators when we had a Dem Congress and barely got ACA.
I am so waiting for the south carolina crash & bern.
Every time someone posts “Feel the Bern” I want to say, “There’s an ointment for that” but I’m trying not to be mean.
😄
If anyone is a Jedi Master, it’s our PBO!
Just can’t picture the man who Stephen Colbert described as “the Vermont Senator and man who brushes his hair with a balloon” as any kind of Jedi.
Cam Newton has no F***s left to give
The Michelle Obama fashion industry stimulus package too :D :D
Wow those pants. Not to my liking, but you go on Cam with your bad self. You wear them well. Can you imagine Peyton or Brady in a pair of these pants? :)
😆
Why is that every single senior member of the military establishment that leaves the Obama administration trashes the President and profits off him by writing a book, doing t.v. hits, getting plum university faculty gigs, named to boards of Fortune 500’s etc….for ex. Bob Gates, Panetta, Stravridis, and this fool to name a few:
It is pretty obvious who was leaking crap to undermine administration policy when this RW fool and Eli Lake would always pre-but an announcement and get McCain/Graham OTR quotes for every article to give it *credibility*…like a broken record!
the mic hates PBO because they are not getting the wars they so desperately want. it’s all about money.
I hope the next D president nominates Sen. Jack Reed for Defense Sec. I’m tired of these RW fuckers. I understood keeping Gates on so PBO could cover his flank, but all these MFs Patraeus, current SecDef Carter, and those of their ilk are backstabbers. Brennan is the only loyal dude and that is why Senate hates him.
yup, carter, the current fbi guy have all been bummers.
You’re right about Comey, S.O.B too! Thought he was gonna be O.K. b/c W & Rove tried to control him when Ashcroft was in the hospital…smh
Warmongers - all of them - hate that peace negotiations work - just want to have winners and losers. So disgusting
///

Ted Cruz).

Both the mofos are out after nh.
At the top of the book cover: “Bill Press makes the case … read this book.”-Senator Bernie Sanders
I’m in total agreement with you. I can’t even imagine a presidency under him - or any of those running on the other side.
