Whether a impassioned speech or one that is quietly thoughtful, like today, PBO always gets to the heart of the matter and educates even while he supports.

      I have a new baby:

I will spare you all the details, but today involved being alerted to a lost doggie freezing and starving in a nearby school field, and it took me and a pal about 97,000 hours to get him to my home, the whole thing involving climbing several walls and squeezing under fences chasing him. James Bond, eat your heart out. I could cry, he’s terrified, no collar, nothing, I fear he was just abandoned. I’m taking him to the vet tomorrow to see if he’s chipped. If not, WHAT DO I DO??? Needless to say, Danny is livid. But our visitor is warm, cozy, fed and hugged, and starting to wag his tail. Damn, I wasn’t anticipating a day like this :???:

I soon as I started to read this, I was asking ‘Has DannyO given his approval?’ I found my answer.

{{{CC}}} Good job Ms Bond & pal! Maybe DannyO will share better tomorrow. Today he was likely just concerned that you were squeezing yourself into small spaces. He didn’t want to see you get hurt. ;) ;)

          2nd everything everyone has said.

{{{{{Chipsticks & Dannystixs}}}}}} I know the feeling when you see a poor animal who needs rescuing you just do it. You are amazed (as we all are) of where did you get the strength and energy to leap tall buildings and fly like the wind to save this sweet face. There is nothing more rewarding than to see a saved animal wagging it’s tail once again, trusting once again, and those big brown thankful eyes.

This is why we love you Chips. Danny will come around too.

          • February 3, 2025 at 7:15 pm

Ah {{JoJo}} - it was freaky introducing him to Danny, lots of snarling (from the visitor) and barking (from Danny). But I sat with them in the garden for a while and they eventually calmed down, mainly ignored each other while all the time looking at me in a ‘what do I do about HIM?’ kind of way. I could have sat there forever, it was a hoot. The visitor is a sweetheart, so nervous and afraid, but gaining his trust now, tail wagging like crazy when I go out to him in a side room thingie (keeping him separate from Danny). Damn it, I think I’m in love.

It’s funny how they can wrap their paws around our hearts so fast. When I brought my kittens home three years ago, my older cat almost
went into convulsions. I thought she
was going to have a heart attack. It took her about three months of not wanting to be separated at night to “get over it, looks like they are here to stay” attitude. She still hissed but no more convulsions, God rest her sweet soul. Danny and Sweetiepieface will be good friends, it will just take time. After all, they have YOU that’s in common.

Don’t Be Fooled: Incompetence is Masquerading as “Anti-Establishment” in 2016

    http://www.thepeoplesview.net/main/2016/2/3/anti-establishment-2016-candidates-hollow-record

This is evident among every candidate that is running this year on the sole claim that they are the “anti-establishment”. They have all repackaged their incompetence in effecting big policy changes as “anti-establishment”. Ted Cruz’s proudest claim to fame during his time in government is his green-eggs-and-ham non-filibuster-filibuster to shut down the government over health care reform. Donald Trump’s is having challenged the current president’s birth certificate. Even Marco Rubio, who isn’t having such a swell time selling himself as the anti-establishment candidate, spends his days telling voters how he ran away from his own immigration reform bill.

Then there’s Bernie Sanders, who’s been a politician since 1972 and in Congress for 25 years, selling himself as the True Revolutionary (TM) anti-establishment candidate in the irony of the decade.

    • 51 No Child Left Behind
      February 3, 2025 at 6:35 pm

Indeed. Good take on the issue. The other irony is that all of these people are against “government” but are vying for the ultimate post in government.

Okay…….I’m going out on a limb here…….WAAAAYYYYY out. Suddenly Jeb has pulled up in the NH polls….Cruz is way down. Jeb has stayed in the race when any common sense would have said “GET OUT!” The Republican establishment cannot let Cruz be the candidate…….even they know that. They could accept Trump, after all he’s about money. Cruz is all religion, the Republican establishment and the big bucks are not about religion. So………I think that way down the road, Jeb will be the last one standing and will, with the push and money of the old eastern money be crowned the nominee. Cruz would destroy everything the old republicans hold dear.

      GA/GE Carolyn.

      Interesting theory.

We won’t have long to wait to see how this plays out. SuperTuesday is Mar 1, then another grouping of states vote on March 15.

Re-posting this from Dec. With all the chaos, finger-pointing and money flying around GOP, isn’t hard to imagine CA making a difference in June.

      harper poll?

      from wiki

The organization was founded after the 2012 presidential election, with the goal of giving Republicans high-volume, inexpensive “robo-polling.”

The firm plans to do this by using Interactive Voice Response (IVR), that is, automated survey techniques, in combination with live caller polls. [1]

The organization was founded by Brock McCleary, who had served as the polling director of the NRCC in the 2012 cycle.[2]

The organization was founded with the goal of emulating PPP, a left-leaning polling organization.[3]

I watched it folks and it was jaw dropping how some of the Governor’s representatives tried to place the blame on Flint city counselmembers and mayors when they had NO POWER thanks to the EM’s the Governor put in place. The lies that many of them
tried to float and the R’s who tried to help them cover their asses but Rep Cummings was not having it. He let the whole viewing
public who watched know it was not ALL on the EPA to stop this or do anything other than alert people of the complaints which they
did not do. I am glad that Rep Cummings said that the Governor and EMs (all of them) need to come before congress and explain
themselves. This was done on purpose then all of a sudden when shit was about to hit the fan, Flint’s money woes were no more and
no more EM’s were needed, all fixed. The Gov is sitting on over 1 Billion $’s in surplus. They better spend that money or sell city bonds before the rest of us bale them out. ALL the pipes in the poor areas need to be replaced…PERIOD!
