HA! he is so relaxed and funny. He said if there were cell phones when he first ran, that he would have changed his mind because no one wants to shake his hand nowadays, so no selfies today. He wants to shake hands :-)

I know the optics of win/lose can be influential, but the delegate count tells another story. The unknowns/ confusion about how delegates are awarded can be problematic for the DNC. Bernie’s camp may be understandably frustrated.

Enjoyed this from Stephen Colbert :-)

“In 2008 Hillary Clinton beat Barack Obama in New Hampshire, even though he eventually went on to win the nomination. This time, Bernie Sanders is leading Hillary by a wide margin. So, he could be our next openly resentful Secretary of State.”

(Funny; however, his lack of foreign policy knowledge or interest precludes him from that position)

It’s always been this way with the Dems. We had to learn about this in 2008 and worked the phones and the delegates hard to get them to pledge their support for then Senator Obama. The problem for Bernie is that he is NOT a Democrat so he has little to no support in the Congress. Also, it doesn’t help that he’s spent years railing against the Democratic Party.

The underlying reality is that Dem office holders and potential candidates do NOT want to run on a platform of Socialist Revolution. So they are going to do everything possible to make sure Bernie is NOT the nominee. It would mean wholesale electoral disaster. The Super Ds are there to block an extremist candidate from making a hostile takeover of the party. In this case, it would serve the purpose. But honestly I don’t think they will be needed at all. The electoral map from here on out looks very good for Hillary.

The Berners are working themselves into a lather believing that Sanders will pull out a numeric delegate win only to have it negated by the Clinton superdelegates. They’re vowing hell to pay if that passes.

          They’re farther gone than PUMAs.

Bernie could try to work with people, and maybe he’d have support of his colleagues. Oh wait, what we consider colleagues he considers the evil establishment. Of which he has been a part for 30 years.

The picture of the three little divas on the previous thread-My granddaughter also has the look of the one in the middle. Many people refer to her as being/acting like an “old soul”. Maybe it’s her background….her birth parents. Who knows? She was 5 in October, but acts much older. Is aware, compassionate, caring, and kind waaaaaaaay beyond her years. It isn’t just the family and close friends that notice it. It can be people “in passing” that observes her (words or actions) and will comment to our daughter.

57…… you won’t believe this: after all the lovely photos I was sent, and all the happy reports …… the dog is being returned to me on Friday. The new owner now has second thoughts because she has a very old fragile dog and she is worried that he’s upset by the presence of this new younger dog. I could scream. She should have thought about this from the start. I know her heart was in the right place, but ‘Ali’ is a fragile, frightened dog, he doesn’t need all this. My sister and brother both say they will take him, but I’m going to give it a try getting Danny adjusted to him. My head is spinning, I was not expecting this. But despite worrying about what’s to come, I cannot wait to see the fella. Life is mad!

          • February 10, 2025 at 6:55 pm

Thank you Donna, it’s been a crazy couple of hours, from thinking the little fella was happy and settled in his new home, to preparing to welcome him back! Flip. But it’ll work out, my mission in life is to make him happy!

Oh my heart just breaks for that poor dog, Ali, Chips I am so sorry. Sometimes it’s good to Google how to introduce a new dog into the home. There are so many good videos and suggestions out there. Dogs are territorial so maybe reintroducing them at a neutral location like a park or your sister or brothers home. Good luck Chipsticks I hope it works out. One thing in my adoption contracts I agreed to take the cats back no questions asked because I don’t want them dumped at a humane society or on the street. Plus they are micro chipped to me and the rescue organization I volunteer with.

          • February 10, 2025 at 6:52 pm

“so maybe reintroducing them at a neutral location like a park or your sister or brothers home”

JoJo, that’s exactly the good advice a friend, who I completely trust on doggy matters, gave me, it’s the mistake I made when Ali was here, I introduced him to Danny’s in Danny’s territory: war! When he comes back on Friday I’m going to keep them separate, then take them both out for a walk in the fields and see how it goes. I’m going to try to use my brain this time! Thank you so much JoJo.

Hi Chipsticks, I am so glad you are going to try again with Ali and I hope it works. I am wondering if it’s a good idea to walk them together by yourself? I was thinking maybe if you meet the lady at the Vet’s office so she can turn over Ali to you then you can take Ali to stay overnight at your sisters or brothers, then arrange for one of them to bring Ali to the same place you walk Danny. I can’t help thinking that walking them together from Danny’s home is not going to go well. I don’t know how far you have to travel to Vets office, then sister or brothers, then they drive to your agreed to neutral location would be too much of a burden, consider this scenario or maybe talk it over with your friend? I know you don’t want Ali to be shuttered from one home to the next but a good gradual reintroduction might work much better.

Chips, all kidding aside, I think that maybe he’s meant to be with you and Danny. I’m out in my little garden patio, next to my statue of Kwan yin, goddess of compassion, with my two kitties (siblings). They don’t always get along, but our little family works and always manages to work through any rough spots. I’m going to do some quiet visualization and praying for peace between Danny and (insert Ali’s new name here :-) ). Don’t worry Chips, all will work out eventually between the boys.

(Maybe the little fella missed you too and the Gods decided to reunite you)

          • February 10, 2025 at 6:49 pm

Ah, I love ya MadameSoph. I was thinking that way too, that it was just meant to be, and I missed the little fella so much after he left, even though he was only here 24 hours. Just worried about the fact that he’s so nervous and Danny wasn’t happy to see him last time, don’t know how it’ll work out. But I’ll give it a bash, safe in the knowledge my sister and brother will step in if I can’t make it work. Thank you ❤️

Chips, I vote with the ‘meant to be” group, If necessary, you can always resort to Prozac for Danny. Or for all three of you, come to that. I am giving my big cat Penny a small dose hecause she’s started to bully Annie (my other cat), now that Sophie is no longer hear to raise a regal paw and stop any nonsense. I sound like I live with a herd of old maid aunties. But Prozac is a thing that can work. My friend’s daughter is a vet. When she and her husband married, his cat started bullying hers and being aggressive with everyone. She gives her a small dose of Prozac in the morning. She’s not’doped up’ and acts perfectly cat-like, but she doesn’t attack the other cat any more.

In my God, Chips! I have brought new did into our family with old and sick dogs and it has always been a blessing.

Try not to feed the fear and anxiety. Let them know you expect them to work it out. That you are a family. That new family members increase the love. It’s not some finite amount that has to be doled out. You have to be the pack leader. Easier said than done, I know. And after all that, if he is not the right fit for you, you will find him a loving, secure home. He’ll know it. Keep me posted.

Rabbi Bernhard Rosenberg, who launched the ” Rabbis for Trump” group in December supporting the frontrunner Republican’s presidential campaign, now says that Donald Trump doesn’t care about the Jewish vote.

“My flip flopping consists of my continuously asking for a platform stating his full support Israel and stating that I cannot continue unless I get one,” Rosenberg said in one of many written statements on the matter.

“To those supporting Trump it hurts me greatly to do this but I cannot get answers and have been told by a representative that the Jewish vote is not important. I do not dislike Trump and wish him well, but I can not fight for him if I do not believe he fully supports Israel and the Jewish people.”

Look, I would rather have Hillary than Bernie for all the reasons I’ve stated previously but Axelrod is right. Hillary needs to look at herself. She needs to do some self reflecting. As an observer who can make comparisons with the two previous Obama campaigns I can tell you that her campaign needs to do some updating with her image and message. Their tech stuff to me is as good if not better than PBO’s campaign was. So I don’t think that this is a problem.

I think Jen O’Malley is a good hire but they need to change the perception of Hillary (no easy feat). Let her be more personal and show that she can be authentic. Stop bringing out these old 90’s “friends” to be her advocates and advisers. I know why Madeleine Albright said what she said about woman and I’ve heard her say this before and in context I get her meaning but in the age of social media and cable soundbites you have to understand how these things are going to be presented to the public. Her campaign and some of her surrogates seem to be totally tone deaf in some ways to me. On another note, in regards to those speaking fees again the people around her didn’t seem to be in-tuned to what was happening on the left side of politics. Yes, everyone gives these speeches and gets paid for them and that I don’t have a problem with but who you give these speeches too makes a difference. Again the tone deafness is on display. A year ago it looked like her only real competition would have been Elizabeth Warren. The left was doing their best to recruit her to run for the exact same reasons why they are so excited about Bernie. So, how can the people surrounding her (yeah I’m speaking to you Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills) miss that “if she ran” that this type of thing would not be an issue?

There are things that will arise in a campaign that you cannot control and then there are things that you can. For goodness sake, learn from the past less you repeat the same dismal outcome.

    • 105 meta
      February 10, 2025 at 6:01 pm

You’ve nailed some of the problems so well, Donna.

Her campaign is horribly out of date. Instead of the defensive “I’m fighting for you” slogan, there needs to be an affirmation of some sort coming from her. She really needs to kick the old voices out of the limelight and instead put forward new ones. She needs to jettison her staid friends and consultants who lost the whole thing for her the last time. She needs to find a genuine voice, not one where she sounds like she’s ticking off the boxes on what she should be. I don’t have a sense of authenticity, just her wanting the presidency. I don’t feel like she gets what makes a good message. She just sounds tinny and packaged. It’s in her best interest to step back and reassess and move FORWARD>

PBO cares as much or more about the welfare of this country as we do and, although he would not think of endorsing in the Primaries, I’m sure he deosn’t want to risk Bernie in the General or a 4-years-and-out Sanders presidency.

We are going to be seeing a lot of headlines and clickbait like this until Nevada and South Carolina. In fact, Not only are the Berniebros in online comment sections brutal, but also the media in general seems to be on a mission to take her down. Maybe because she’s embraced PBO this time around, or maybe because she’s a woman or maybe it’s that she’s the perceived frontrunner (many of us were more than a little suspicious and resentful at a seeming “coronation”).

I made the mistake of Googling her name the other day and every single article headline, page after page had a negative or insulting tone or was promoting negativity of some sort.

In fact, I found this site back during the Snowden mess, when everything was ES worship and negativity towards PBO. In a desparate search for sanity and support of PBO, I found TPV, which led me to this site and you all have helped to keep me sane.

Remember all of the hoopla after PBO’s first debate against Mitt? The media lost their minds.

PBO would be the first to remind us about the long game and I think that is definitely in HRC’s favor. Plus, PBO wants to make sure his legacy is protected. Just because he’s not openly campaigning for her, he’s not going to let her mess this up. He’ll do his best to make sure a supportive Dem wins the nomination and Presidency.

As I’ve stated before, President Obama got approx 66Million votes in 2012. In order for the “revolution” to be a success and they take back the House and the Senate Sanders would need at a minimum 80Million votes in the GE for 2016.

He’s not even beating President Obama’s 2008 turnout for the primaries. Were’s the revolution?
