Congrats on 1st NCLB. It is a cold day in MN -5 WC -13 Winch Chill advisory today and then it is supposed to start a warming trend by mid week. Sounds like fun huh. LOL
Good morning Ms. Chips, Danny and TOD family, I hope all is well with everyone this lovely Saturday morning. Congrats NCLB, on being first this morning.
To all, I hope you have a care-free, easygoing, and laid-back day today. <3<3<3
Thank God that President Obama is still the President of The United States of America. ⭐🏆 ⭐🏆 ⭐🏆
Former Va. Gov Jim Gilmore (R) is suspending his presidential campaign, according to reports.
“My campaign was intended to offer the gubernatorial experience, with the track record of a true conservative, experienced in national security, to unite the party,” Gilmore said in a statement, first reported by the Washington Examiner.
“My goal was to focus on the importance of this election as a real turning point, and to emphasize the dangers of continuing on a road that will further undermine America’s economy and weaken our national security,” he added.
Gilmore vowed to help elect a Republican to succeed President Obama.

How can anybody call this an election after this bombshell? Oh there are dark days ahead. Well best of luck to former mayor Dilmore in his future endeavors.
:-) The hilarious thing is the woman gave me a Teddy that she’d got for ‘Adam’, first thing Danny did was steal it and chew its nose off. So, that was a good start!
Ah, great links - thank you Petal. I had looked up advice, but those links are much better. I now know that I have done almost everything WRONG! I did the taking-them-for-a-walk thing, but it did dawn on me half way through that I should have taken them to a different place to Danny’s usual amble. Because it was his usual route, it probably still felt like an invasion of his territory. Flip, I needed to prepare for this way better, I just wish that flippin’ woman had given me more notice.
Keep thinking that, if it was a blonde babe he’d be thanking me.
Have Adam in a separate space now, a room off the kitchen with a guard at the door, so he’s not cut off and can see me come and go, but can’t get in to Danny’s space. I think I need to hire John Kerry to sort this out.
Give it time, it will work out. when jtp came to our homestead, he was frisky and would annoy the hell out of original jtp. Now he uses her as his pillow and she just lets him. lazy pig.
:-) I know it’s crazily early to be writing off any hope of them tolerating each other, it’s just that I hoped Adam would be fairly submissive and accept Danny as the boss, but he’s a feisty divil, can’t really see that happening. But I’ll see how it goes, will only let him go if I find a good home for him, otherwise we’ll just flippin’ make it work!
A crazily long story DF!! The gist: the woman who took the dog home returned him to me yesterday, she decided it wasn’t fair on her old dog to have a new one in the house. Sooooooooo …… he’s now living with Danny (and me) :???: Not working out too well so far, Danny and himself have NOT hit off, and the newbie isn’t backing down, has nipped Danny a few times. Have a bad feeling this isn’t going to work out, waiting to hear from my sister if she’ll take him. If not, will have to have a serious think, don’t want Danny sad!
Oh no - so sorry Chips to hear that it didn’t work out with the other lady. This must be agonizing and distracting for you. Also, I can just imagine Danny’s confusion about what might be going on! Fingers crossed that “Adam” will be adopted into a permanent and loving home soon.
Oh dear…..Ask everyone you know….and I agree. Danny can NOT be sad. It’s his house first. I really hope that it works itself out soon…with smiles and happiness all around.
Thanks a million DF, it’s a bit of a mess of a situation, ‘Adam’ needs lots of attention to make him feel secure, but it’s impossible to give it to him without upsetting Danny. I think I really need to find a home without a dog for him, so will work on that.
I think that you’re absolutely right:) There is a loving home for “Adam” somewhere….I pray that you’ll find it soon. Talk to everyone you see. You never know what might come of a spur of the moment convo:)
I know…if our animals could just talk to us for a few minutes to fill us in, that would be great! One of my personal wishes:) In the mean time, if you can get your hands on a crate, entice Adam into the crate with a steak (kidding!) and then have more equal footing with the dogs, that would be better for you….and Danny. And Adam. The dynamic needs to change and Adam in a crate might be just enough to make that happen. Would be good until you can find a real home for him….
No doubt a busy time for most folk, getting ready for Valentine’s Day tomorrow, but if you have a few minutes, check out this story about UCLA gymnast Sophina DeJesus, whose has an incredible family history (Puerto Rican and African descent).
“Her grandfather [Webster Moore] was the president of UCLA’s Afrikan Student Union and helped bring in the school’s first black professor [Angela Davis]; her mother was a juror in the Rodney King trial.”
snip /
“Webster Moore grew up in Alabama, and he and his brother were around the same age as Emmett Till, the black 14-year-old who was brutally murdered in 1955, after he was seen talking to a white woman. Till was visiting Mississippi from Chicago. Two men kidnapped him and took him to a river bank, and forced him to strip naked. Then, they beat him up, gouged his eye out, shot him in the head, affixed part of a cotton gin to him with barbed wire, and threw him into the Tallahatchie River.
For the mother of young black boys in the South, the episode was jarring — jarring enough to warrant a move to the other side of the country. So she put her family in a car and drove to Los Angeles.”
You've seen this UCLA gymnast flip, whip and nae nae. But you probably don't know her story: https://t.co/Ug9H133sVk pic.twitter.com/EYQmRNZnnF
Morning Chips …and the gang, - Wishing you all a great Saturday, whichever form it takes!
Chips, so nice to see you still standing after all the twists and turns your Friday may have thrown at you! We wimmin have got to be strong….right, Amk? :):)
Hush. {{CC}} I can just imagine. I figured you’d *have* to sleep all night with 1½ eyes open to ensure there were no surreptitious strikes from either party. Hang in there.
Okay, now I will confess to an incident from last night that was my fault, really.
I did roast chicken for dinner and there was a good bit of it left, had it sitting covered on the kitchen counter. I’d put Adam in a room off the kitchen, but left the door open so he wouldn’t feel confined.
Come down this morning ……. the plate the chicken was on is smashed on the floor, Adam is sitting there licking his lips ….. chicken gone. And all the bones (how is he alive?) I may be the worst doggy foster mother in the history of doggy foster mothers. Meanwhile, Danny is pissed that his chicken is gone.
Learning experience; I say you couldn’t be expected to think sanely given yesterday’s events (although I do wonder if you were subconsciously setting up a test for ‘Adam’).
However, I might suggest that you use, or acquire for use, some unbreakable plate/containers if you are likely to leave (subconsciously or otherwise) tasty, good smelling food on counters.
Crate. No joke. Save your sanity. Keep dogs safe. Don’t think of it as punishment…it’s not meant for that….it’s a safe den for him. Until Sadie, all my dogs were crate trained….they would even go in while the door was open just to lie down in there….their own space.
So sorry you’re going through all this stress, Chips. If things don’t work out with Adam, I hope you don’t blame yourself. You’re trying to do a good thing, but if the cost is endless stress and sleepless nights, it isn’t worth it. Hope things either settle down or you find a good and permanent home for Adam.
Thanks a million Jackie, I expected it to be tricky, but really didn’t think it would be this stressful! On top of it all, busy with work this weekend so haven’t really the time I need to deal with the two of them - so now I’m feeling guilty about the newbie not getting the attention he needs! Any way, it’ll work out one way or another, at least the newbie is safe and warm and VERY well fed! And Danny’s getting a gazillion extra hugs :-)
You have a point, Df. I’m just remembering that my (Christmas) cousin crate-trained her little white puppy. She sleeps in her crate and even has a bell which she actually rings when she wants to go outside for personal matters. :D
You do know that every time you mention raising dog you re-ignite my frustration with you for giving Ji-Runt away? :(:/ Have you seen anything of him anytime in the last three months?
Oh, you did answer! Thanks. Didn’t think of that. Feel a bit better now (couldn’t accept that Jack got to stay and my favourite didn’t). I suppose you can’t just have a talk with them and tell them they’re related so none of that stuff. Alright.
I remember when I was a little kid my father took me and my brother to see “Billy Jack,” I was so enamored with the guy, his solitude and his patience is what won me over. I tried to pattern myself after “Billy Jack,” but after a while that shit got old.
The U.S. government posted a $55 billion budget surplus in January, up from an $18 billion deficit in the same month a year ago, the Treasury Department said on Wednesday.

So true! The camera roll one really made me laugh. Just today I showed a perfect stranger this picture of my dog WHILE my dog was right there beside me.
All toons were hilarious. And so true. Especially the fifth one applies to the wifey unit. I hate cats. If you didn’t feed vicky, you ain’t getting in the bed, buster. w/smh.
 -ed! Wifey unit named her cat ‘vicky’!!!! Of all the possibilities …. around the world? I’m offended. Tell her I won’t be sanctioning her side against yours any more. :/

the lady (who shall not be named) got cold feet and returned the feller (who shall not be named).
now to make danny understand that (no danny, you can’t take his toy) has been bt’s mission for the past 2 days.
:-) The hilarious thing is the woman gave me a Teddy that she’d got for ‘Adam’, first thing Danny did was steal it and chew its nose off. So, that was a good start!

If only adam had been eve, bet the blighter will be drooling all over him/her.
Try crating. May be the new feller needs his own safe space furst.
Keep thinking that, if it was a blonde babe he’d be thanking me.

I didn’t know that “Adam” was back. Well, Danny must be asking himself what in the world of Dogs is going on?
It’s raining dogs and
ca</del) dogs on him.:-) I know it’s crazily early to be writing off any hope of them tolerating each other, it’s just that I hoped Adam would be fairly submissive and accept Danny as the boss, but he’s a feisty divil, can’t really see that happening. I don’t anything at all about his background DF, would love to know what the heck happened him.

but left the door open …
you tempted him and then blame him?
look at the bright side, it’s a character building ‘exercise’ for danny boy.
It’s also a considerable test for my lap, Danny spent all night sitting on it :???:
Learning experience; I say you couldn’t be expected to think sanely given yesterday’s events (although I do wonder if you were subconsciously setting up a test for ‘Adam’).
However, I might suggest that you use, or acquire for use, some unbreakable plate/containers if you are likely to leave (subconsciously or otherwise) tasty, good smelling food on counters.
:-) Adam will NOT have access to the kitchen tonight, trust me!!!!
See, it was a test! No fair though because you didn’t prepare him. ;)
*cough-cough* We may be BTF, but did you notice that I haven’t offered to nephew-sit this time?
 I don’t blame you, it’s a war zone!!
Phew! Thanks, Sis……for understanding I’m a peace lover. Am definitely thinking of you though - all three of you!
Crate. No joke. Save your sanity. Keep dogs safe. Don’t think of it as punishment…it’s not meant for that….it’s a safe den for him. Until Sadie, all my dogs were crate trained….they would even go in while the door was open just to lie down in there….their own space.
