Just catching up, but has TOD seen this article? A long read, and well worth it. Probably Kasich hasn’t :)

‘ Today’s women are, for the most part, not abstaining from or delaying marriage to prove a point about equality. They are doing it because they have internalized assumptions that just a half-century ago would have seemed radical: that it’s okay for them not to be married; that they are whole people able to live full professional, economic, social, sexual, and parental lives on their own if they don’t happen to meet a person to whom they want to legally bind themselves. The most radical of feminist ideas—the disestablishment of marriage — has been so widely embraced as to have become habit, drained of its political intent but ever-more potent insofar as it has refashioned the course of average female life. ‘

Given that he just defunded PP it fits right in with his mindset. I will never understand why any woman votes for such people (& they sure must given who gets elected).

This shooter will be given every benefit of a doubt; he will be given longitude and latitude. Answers for his unspeakable actions will be made up out of whole cloth. His life will be examined with a scalpel and not a sledgehammer. He won’t be called a thug or a criminal or a murderer, but just a guy that shot people. The crime is secondary, the reasons he did it are secondary, and the main focus now is to understand him, to study him. They don’t study us; they don’t give us the benefit of the doubt. They go through our lives with a wrecking ball, not looking for answers but to cause more wreckage. The last white guy that went on a shooting rampage, they bought him a burger.

The same with the heroin and prescription drug deaths of young white teens and adults. It is an epidemic that needs to be fixed through medical care, mental health care, love and understanding. NO JAIL TIME, NO WAR ON DRUGS, because they are white people’s kids, neighbors, congressmen’s & Governor’s friend’s kids. When it’s minorities, just through them in jail and throw away the keys.

Gingrich is just upset that his racism couldn’t take him as far as Trump’s racism has taken him. Gingrich is just as nasty as Trump. Let’s not forget that he called President Obama the food stamp President in 2012.

I agree with you pkayden! As far as I am concerned, all the GOP candidates are racists. Some are not as overt and vulgar as Donald Trump.Newt Gingrich, however, was as vulgar as the Donald.

    Hello TOD family

Sorry to be quiet for so long. Busy with OFA. I will try and stop by more often and ask for your help with the SCOTUS appointment.

Here are some things EVERYONE can do today

    1) Share the petition on social media: https://my.barackobama.com/Stand-For-A-Fair-Nomination-Process.
If you have already signed it, share it with family and friends on your email, network, FB and Twitter.

2.) Use Social media and offline conversations family, neighbors, and friends emphasize test 4 points

    * There is a constitutional obligation by the President to put forward a nominee and the Senate has constitutional obligation to provide fair hearing and up/down vote.
    * There are 67 days on average between when the nomination is announced and the Senate votes.
    * 125 days is longest stretch between the two.
    * The President has over 330 days left in office, so there is plenty of time to get this done.

    3) Attend a March 3rd Day of Action - go to http://www.barackobama.com > Get Involved > Attend an event > and then enter your zip code.

Here is the one for SF in CA (I will be there so hope to see the Bay Area TOD folks)

Tell the Senate: Do Your Job(Supreme Court — Action Event)
The American people deserve a judicial system that works-and the Senate must stop the obstruction, do their job and keep the Supreme Court fully functional. With over 300 days remaining in President Obama’s term, there is more than enough time for the Senate to hold hearings and give an up or down vote. Join OFA supporters as we make our voices heard and demand that the Senate do their job.

    Time:Thursday, March 3, 2025 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
    Host:Carmen Murray
Location:San Francisco City Hall - 1 Dr Carlton B Goodlett Pl, San Francisco, CA 94102
    SIGN UP: https://my.barackobama.com/page/event/detail/supremecourtactionevent/gsf52b

    4. Join us as we make calls into Arizona. There will e events in Phoenix and Tuscon on March 3rd. We are calling folks in those cities, asking them to attend the event and asking them to call their Senators. Send me an email @ [email protected] for more info.

I wasn’t around to listen to the WH briefing earlier today, but must now confess unequivocally that Gov. McAuliffe has impressed me with his straight and intelligent answers to all questions posed by the toddlers. And we know that those big toddlers don’t grow up and have maintained a level of immaturity in their line of questioning, not to mention the habit of raising trivial issues of no substance whatsoever.

If HRC wins, this gentleman will have a place in the new administration and has shown me that he is a capable man.
