I’ve been thinking of the Senate obstruction to the President’s constitutional authority to appoint a supreme court justice like a Cliven Bundy type occupation. They won’t comply with the law of the land, they won’t leave as in resign, so they just occupy federal land until they get their way. Meanwhile they defecate on our institutions of governement and they engage in anarchy in their own self interest. Some day soon they may call for a march on the capitol of all sovereign citizens to make their case.

Should the world send them the same humiliating supplies and “snacks’ that they sent to cheer on the last group of anarchist slobs? If they act like Bundy they should be treated like Bundy. Oh and why not get Trump in there with them. He can be that nutty guy who demanded pizza and marijuana before giving up to the feds. Cruz can work the radio and preach to the paranoid mob. Rubio can hide under the blue tarp drinking water cuz he doesn’t like to make too much effort.

Catrst, that’s a very apt comparison. Especially true is “they engage in anarchy in their own self interest.” They don’t even know how to pretend anymore that they have any concern for the country. They have now flat out admitted that playing politics is the only thing they know how to do and any other function they were supposedly elected to fill is just a charade. They are not senators, they are Republican operatives.

I don’t actually. I live in flyover country at the moment. You can have my byline if you want and expand on the idea. I think it is apt, I really do. The President is discussing the danger to the validity of the Supreme Court with this “occupation” of theirs so when I say defecate on hallowed ground I mean defecate. Why is it that the President has to clean up their you know what all the time?

    Completely and utterly terrifying.

Data from Public Policy Polling show that a third of Mr. Trump’s backers in South Carolina support barring gays and lesbians from entering the country. This is nearly twice the support for this idea (17 percent) among Ted Cruz’s and Marco Rubio’s voters and nearly five times the support of John Kasich’s and Ben Carson’s supporters (7 percent). Similarly, YouGov data reveal that a third of Mr. Trump’s (and Mr. Cruz’s) backers believe that Japanese internment during World War II was a good idea, while roughly 10 percent of Mr. Rubio’s and Mr. Kasich’s supporters do. Mr. Trump’s coalition is also more likely to disagree with the desegregation of the military (which was ordered in 1948 by Harry Truman) than other candidates’ supporters are. The P.P.P. poll asked voters if they thought whites were a superior race. Most Republican primary voters in South Carolina—78 percent—disagreed with this idea (10 percent agreed and 11 percent weren’t sure). But among Mr. Trump’s supporters, only 69 percent disagreed. Mr. Carson’s voters were the most opposed to the notion (99 percent), followed by Mr. Kasich and Mr. Cruz’s supporters at 92 and 89 percent. Mr. Rubio’s backers were close to the average level of disagreement (76 percent). According to P.P.P., 70 percent of Mr. Trump’s voters in South Carolina wish the Confederate battle flag were still flying on their statehouse grounds. (It was removed last summer less than a month after a mass shooting at a black church in Charleston.) The polling firm says that 38 percent of them wish the South had won the Civil War. Only a quarter of Mr. Rubio’s supporters share that wish, and even fewer of Mr. Kasich’s and Mr. Carson’s do. Nationally, the YouGov data show a similar trend: Nearly 20 percent of Mr. Trump’s voters disagreed with the freeing of slaves in Southern states after the Civil War.

We don’t need these soundbites, however, Dudette. Unless there’s a strategy that I don’t yet see, I see no reason to consider a GOP nominee. He’s decent enough on social issues, he did accept Medicaid expansion, but he’s GOP through and through on labor. This is not someone who should be close to PBO’s legacy, not at this time.

The knee jerk response from the GOP was that even a GOP nominee wouldn’t be considered, so there’s that, and the GOP Senate look like idiots and traitors, yet again. But I hate to give this kind of fodder to the looney left right now.
