Good afternoon!
This not only is Trump a fascist, he’s also a DINGBAT!
Congrats Jacqueline :)
Very fine post, NW. Thank you.
This is the best video of Lady Gaga’s performance I’ve been able to find, though it’s embedded in a tweet …
Yes, I will (continue to) intervene, whenever necessary ….
This one is even better, but it’s embedded on a webpage …
http://www.thedenverchannel.com/entertainment/vice-president-biden-calls-on-oscars-audience-to-sign-anti-sexual-assault-pledge
Thanks, Bob!
You’re welcome, Bob.
There’s also this ….
back to work …. take care everyone ….

:-D :-D :-D
#LoveAndKindness - I’ve for that!
*I’m for that!* (meant to write!)
As a friend of mine in New Jersey used to say, that photo would “gag a maggot.”
Eek.
Good one!
I gather Christie went back to governing today - had a press conference & refused to answer Trump questions. I will forever be confused that even on the world stage the President gets hit with partisan questions from the media - yet GOPers simply refuse to discuss things they do not want to talk about
Something wrong with a democracy where the media gives one party a privilege refused to the other.
THANK YOU so much for highlighting this moment. It was so incredibly moving, from VP’s standing ovation, to his speech, to Lady Gaga’s performance and to all the women who stood up, it really was one of the most emotionally powerful things I’ve seen on this level.
XOXO, NW.
Thank you, Meta.
are these the same folks who advised PBO before?
Yes, Deese is a senior advisor to POTUS. Eggleston serves as the White House Counsel. Stephanie Cutter was a deputy in PBO’s campaigns and worked on very high profile issues in the WH like Obamacare and Let’s Move and all his previous Supreme Ct noms.
Wow i did not know that about Stephanie Cutter…
i sent an email to Toomey and spoke to his staff today…they gave me the line about waiting for a new President…i mentioned to his staff that Toomey was at the end of his term as well..and if he was planning to do nothing from now til Novemeber….smh…i told him that Toomey has a Constitutional respsonsibility to particiapte in the process…and if he cannot do that then perhaps he should resign…these folks are just to much…posted my email on my FB page…i asked others to follow suit…
BRAVO, pf. Thank you.
:D
Fantastic, Pf. I’m very proud of you.
following your stellar example…smiles
i wish we could get a delegation to go speak to him in person…gonna ask around about that
Well done, pf!
Scrolling through the page really fast I saw “Steph” and “Cu” and then I hit the tweet below about Wheaties and thought.. Wait Steph Curry is gonna advise on the SCOTUS nominee? WTH? That’ll teach me to slow down when I zip through the blog threads! LOL! :-D
:D
“Way To Go” PF!!!!!!
Thumbs UP…
Its amazing what can be accomplished when working with PBO”s administration by doing things like setting up your own state exchange and expanding medicare as prescribed. Voting Matters!
http://www.startribune.com/minnesota-insured-rate-spikes-after-mnsure/370516931/
“Results of the biannual survey, released Monday by the Minnesota Department of Health and the University of Minnesota, showed 213,000 more residents with coverage last year compared to 2013. The share of Minnesotans lacking insurance fell to 4.3 percent.
State officials hailed the role of the state’s online exchange, MNsure, despite its widely publicized technical problems, for connecting more Minnesotans with benefits they previously lacked or couldn’t afford. Expanded eligibility for the state’s Medicaid program helped as well.”
WHOA, check this out. It’s in the bottom of the video toward the end. BRUTAL.

I have whiplash going from this thread’s uplifting message to Trump’s brand of ugly. GDI!!
send this all over the place. This guy is way past his primetime
Thank you, df.
his campaign.. is off the rails….it is not easy running a contest of this magnitude
We had the good fortune at my former Navy organization, way back, to be associated with then-Navy Captain Winston Scott, now retired, who was later selected in ’92 to join the Space Program. I remember when we heard that news, we felt highly excited to “know an astronaut”!
http://www.blackpast.org/aah/scott-winston-e-1950
Awesome!
To the GOP>>YOU BUILT THAT!
He will say and do anything for media attention. Sometimes he accidentally says something true.
Why do people feel the need to troll even the most innocent, beautiful tweets and interject their nastiness & craziness? Why?
Dudette, before he internet and Twitter/comment sections, there were people who sat alone in their apartments shouting at the TV, or walked down the street while muttering to themselves. We would see them and know to cross the street or avoid engaging in a conversation. Now they get to join in with everyone else and get people to respond to their nonsense.
Yes, I know. It’s just so tiresome having to wade through their nonsense. I’m sure by now, I’ve blocked thousands on Twitter. Sigh!
D’accordo Dudette (I’m in agreement). I wish there was some sort of automatic filter one could apply to comment sections so I could expore the sane ones and ignore the racist/misogynist/crazy/sociopath ones.
“explore” of course! (although “expore” could mean a combination of “exploring” and “poring over” :-) )
I know this pain, my sister! It’s okay. No grammar or spelling police here. :-)
I’m my own worst spelling and grammar police enemy. What used to be my mom’s voice in my head has morphed into my own, ha ha.
Grateful that you feel my pain! :-)
folks are just so hateful…angry…scared….and desperate…they have no way of containing it…the TP/GOP…….and now Trump & press have given them an outlet and a veneer of respectabilty for their hatred….it is truly virulent…they would kill us if they could
Beautiful little video- just brings tears of joy to my eyes!
Hello TOD!
Someone on TPV quoted and linked to an article on DKos by Markos. Now, I don’t remember the last time I even clicked on DKos. I have avoided that site like the plague since 2010 or earlier. But damn, if Markos didn’t make some spot on points about the Dem Primary, reality and the Bernie campaign. It’s worth reading for sure.
http://www.dailykos.com/stories/2016/2/29/1492734/-Democrats-South-Carolina-and-wrapping-up-our-primary-season
Some tidbits:
“You know who did turn out given the opportunity? African Americans in South Carolina……The big takeaway? If you want a revolution, find a candidate/leader that looks like the Democratic Party, or has done the hard work of building credibility in communities of color.”
“I won’t speak for African Americans, but Latinos have had enough revolutions, none of them good. It’s literally the reason why I ended up here in this country. So Sanders’ “revolution” rhetoric was never going to win Latino support. But worse, they definitely see “revolution” when they look at Trump and his supporters, and it’s fucking terrifying.”
“A reminder: No president, no matter how revolutionary, can single-handedly kill Citizens United. But you know who can? A new liberal replacement to Justice Scalia. Donald Trump doesn’t give us that. Even if you assume the worst nonsense about Hillary Clinton, she does give us that.”
“…you don’t get to parachute into a party less than a year before the first contest and expect to win huge swath of support.”
Very good points, MS! I can’t recall last time I went to DKos either, but these tidbits make sense.
Excellent, Madame Soph!
I was listening to NPR this afternoon and they were discussing that in California there are fewer registered Republicans and Democrats. Most of the younger newly registered adults are registering Independent, and that is across the board AA’s, White, Hispanic and Asian. They said that because of this the two parties are not making calls to this group and could be why there are fewer people voting because they are not being reached.
Interesting JoJo…
I’m going to meet with my old Dem neighborhood captain from the 2004 campaign for lunch soon. I’ll bring this up.
Also confirms the libertarian-ish leanings of the millennial generation too.
It probably has to do with CA’s Open Primary rules. Not sure on this, but think the top two candidates move on regardless of which party they are in. Hmmmm seems like that would not apply to a national election though. Anyone know how that works?
SOON: Hillary Clinton (D) Campaigns in Fairfax, VA - http://abcnews.go.com/Live?stream=4
And people are going to vote in the millions for the father of this man. smh
Bingo!
He gets into speculation whether the DC pundits who were wrong about the impact of the nuclear deal on Iranian politics would have to admit they were wrong and get back to being more responsible. We all know the answer to that.
Excellent point here!
Exactly! There is ZERO accountability in the media. Too many uninformed opinions being passed off as “fact” or “news” with no formal retractions and/or corrections when the information being spread was clearly wrong or false.
I feel the majority of these “political talk shows” that occupy 90% of the major news networks’ airtime are worthless at best, and dangerous at worst.

OMG
for those who remember Frank Rizzo
Trump is worse than Frank Rizzo.
Only because he has a chance to be President…
Not sure what to make of this mix:
I think at this point it’s more idle speculation than anything…but let’s see.
Begs the question: who do we want?
VP Biden.
:)
inorite?
Sec Castro would be my best bet
I like him, too. Certainly good for getting elected. Just seems like she’ll need someone from the Senate (like our beloved Veep) who can work that side for her.
ifVP Joe Biden could not move those folks…no one can…but a SEC Castro…could help turn Texas Blue or at least purple…and galvanize the Latino vote
True- love to see Nancy Smash on the ticket, but we need her right where she is.
Love her, but NO, we need her to have that Speaker of the House gavel again.
Mine too.
Have you folks seen this parody of ‘the Producers’? Answers the question, why is Carson still running, I think.

Welcome to the United States!
Thank you sooooooooooo much Nerdy - and another Nerdy post:

:)
Like I said, this is all about their own self-absorption.
Very true.
They only hear what they want to hear.
It’s like that silly RW misinformation claim that Al Gore ‘invented the internet’.
I’ve seen posts that PBO ‘floated a RW pick for SCOTUS’ - he did not do that. HARRY REID suggested Gov. Sandoval, who was never contacted by the WH.
But no matter - it’s one more thing the emoprogs attribute to PBO, false or not, so they can justify their deep disappointment (maybe too mild a word in some cases) in him.
