The political arm of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus — CHC BOLD PAC — is set to endorse Hillary Clinton at a press conference at the Democratic National Committee’s headquarters on Monday morning, in yet another sign of the presidential front-runner’s strength in Washington and among Hispanic leaders.
The move is hardly a surprise considering that most of the caucus members are publicly backing Clinton, but it’s still a useful endorsement as she looks to effectively seal the nomination against Bernie Sanders on Super Tuesday. Among the states voting on Tuesday is Texas, which has a large Hispanic population.
Joe Cirincione, one of the finest minds concerning nuclear proliferation and FP and someone I deeply respect, joined the Sanders FP team. He likes his plan to reduce nuclear weapons. He said that PBO had that stance during his campaign and then the policy stalled. He was part of PBO’s FP team during the campaigns. He did, however, praise PBO for the Iran deal, which he has done wholeheartedly and repeatedly. He said that the success of the Iranian elections is directly tied to that deal, and he had nothing but praise for Sec. Kerry.
But I was taken aback to hear he was on Sanders’ team. And he had some disturbing comments on Hillary and Libya. Joe understands that sometimes intervention is necessary. I hope he doesn’t think BS is actually going to give a damn about FP, but I must admit it was a shrewd move on Sanders’ part. Didn’t make me happy this morning.
It just shows the various nuances in this campaign, a bit amazing at times. I just thank our lucky stars that our two candidates are who they are, flaws included, some larger than others, and that they are NOT those RWNJs like Trump and the like. They’re going down. And they must go down, before they bring down our country much more than they’ve already tried!
He really is a great guy, although if he’s going to go emoprog on me, he’s off my list. Understand, he has been a lion of support for PBO on the Iran deal and he has always loved PBO since his days in the Senate working on nuclear proliferation with Richard Lugar. That being said, he said that BS wasn’t going to get rid of our stockpile, just unilaterally reduce it some. I don’t think he realizes the zealot that he’s dealing with here: this is the liar that said he would keep ACA, when his own plan obliterates all health care in the country except single payer. He’s a liar in order to get support. He cannot possibly think that we are safe in Bernie’s hands. He’ll sit on them, his precious principle, and watch the world blow up. So even though Joe has been one of my heroes on FP, I’m having some serious doubts.
He said that PBO had that stance during his campaign and then the policy stalled…
************************
Everyone seems to have their “pet” Projects…the policy has not stalled…getting rid of nuclear weapons and material in the world requires cooperation…i wonder what Joe thinking is the Presidents move to get chemical weapons out of Syria…
sigh…
reminds me of how those in the environmental movement were critical of the President…because once again he has not done enough…
now here’s JOE…i wonder what he thinks Bernie Sanders is going to do….or can do……
Well, his field of expertise is nuclear issues. He really is a great guy and a great mind. My impression from the interview this morning was about what we were doing with our own stockpile of nuclear weapons. Bernie wants to unilaterally reduce our numbers - not eliminate but reduce. It was the position PBO took in 2008. But I don’t know how much Congress can muck that up. And if Joe Cirincione doesn’t know that Presidents need the cooperation of Congress, then he has gone down in my estimation.
Sometimes I think there are many people thinking the GOP are opposing PBO only because he is Black and that any White opposition figure could get everything they wanted done merely because they are from the same race. Another words, Bernie supporters think because Bernie is a White man he can get everything he wants.
My thoughts on the topic from a different perspective, Native American/White, are that our PBO received unprecedented disrespect and opposition bolstered due to his ethnicity. The emboldened instigators counted on the corporate owned media’s lack of outrage and furthering the opposition talking points while not presenting proven facts. They also counted on the underlying racist atmosphere still demonstrated in our society. My thoughts are this was only brought to the surface due to the racial aspect. It has been there in coded language and attempts to undermine average people’s rights and benefits in favor of the 1% for a long time. Bernie has been talking about this forever.
PBO consistently speaks about this unfairness and has for his entire presidency. He has tried to tax the wealthy in order to correct this with OFA helping with Congressional pleas. It is not a new problem. It is only more evident. The first step in correcting a problem is recognizing there is a problem. By PBO enduring the onslaught of this strong hateful racial rhetoric he has brought the problem to the surface in a way no one else could. He expertly maneuvered his way through this unimaginable mess with generosity, strength of character, and tolerance. He is a man for the history books. However, I do not think another no matter what race he/she is can step in and make everything right. Change is a lengthy process with many set backs. Hope endures.

I’ve been sensing this judging from his tweets. I’m disappointed to say the least. I just cannot see someone with BS’ temperament handling our foreign affairs with delicacy.
I’m really upset about it, meta. He can’t possibly think that BS can run the nuances of FP. He’s just not capable of those serious judgments. I guess I’ve missed the tweets from Joe that led to this. And apparently the NYT hit job on Hillary and Libya was his source of information on that issue. Sigh.
Oh, meta, I’m so glad to talk to someone about this. I was shocked. I have never heard Joe say nothing that wasn’t supportive of PBO, and now this? And he used the “judgment” word about Libya, that Hillary chose “regime change” & PBO went along. At the time, it looked like it was going to work. And I can just hear the shrieking if they’d left Gaddafi there. PBO can’t win with these people no matter what he does.
Does Joe honestly think BS is any way competent to lead this nation in a complex world? He barely knows what he’s talking about, doesn’t care, and will rest on “principle” when he does nothing. I’m soooooo disappointed.
I KNOW!!!! My only thought is that Joe somehow sees this as a chance to be in the spotlight or something. IOW, opportunistic! It really all just sickens me. But to put his reputation at stake lining up with Sanders? And to put any of this on PBO? It’s CRAZY. I mean, PBO has DONE MORE than anyone to rid our world of nuclear weapons. I really really don’t get it.
Good morning TODville!!! We are having spring weather in Montana. The last two weeks our daily average is between 40 and 50 and acouple of days have been warmer that that. Also the nights have barely been below freezing. This is so unusual for us. There is snow on the mountain tops just not down around us. Our weather is changing to much. We don’t have much winter at all.
Well, this does it for me. I cannot stand Alan Grayson. I am afraid he may beat Patrick Murphy in Florida. If he wants Bernie, I will have to go with Hillary for sure. There is no one in this race I really want to vote for. I have already received my early primary ballot.
Patrick Murphy in Florida is running for U.S. Senate, and is really going after Grayson for his financial affairs (I believe). I watch Florida Dem politics a little, because I hope to move back there one day … and, although I don’t have a dog in this hunt, if anybody is looking for individual candidates to support and cares to donate to Murphy, here’s a link: http://www.murphyforflorida.com/
Well, I guess it turns out that Grayson is some kind of hedge fund manager on the side. OF ALL THINGS. Reid lambasted him and basically told him to drop out of the race. So I’d like to hear someone explain to me how this squares with Sanders. Murphy is a good guy!!
He’s ended up the sleaziest. He has domestic violence issues, I believe. He’s all progressive, until it comes to taxing hedge fund managers. I thought I had heard that he wasn’t doing very well in the race. I need to check that out.
Phew! Boy, was I confused! Okay there are two Patrick Murphys —
One Iraq war vet from Pennsylvania who was just sworn in as Under Secretary of the Army
http://www.stripes.com/news/iraq-veteran-patrick-murphy-is-sworn-in-as-army-under-secretary-1.395908
The other from Miami, running against Alan Grayson for the Senate. Harry Reid has endorsed Murphy
http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/the-buzz-florida-politics/in-email-blast-harry-reid-campaigns-for-patrick-murphy/2266484
Hmmm….It seems to me that Sanders’ endorsers are flocking to him for reasons other than principle or ideology. To be more specific, Sanders’ endorsers are flocking to him because they have some personal (usually petty) “beefs” with the Obama admin, or with PBO himself, and are using their endorsement of Sanders as a very childish “F-U” manner to POTUS and anyone or anything who they think represents him the closest.
I’ll just call them a motley crew. I can appreciate people who are counter-culture and do their own thing, but this collection just feels like its all about anti-government AGRO.
“Sanders supporters are angry and think PBO is a failure.”
Angry yes, but I doubt they think he’s a failure. Rather, I believe they’re mad that he’s quite the success they’d hoped he would never be. The fact that the Sanders’ campaign seems bent on trying to copy everything PBO did and are using him as a benchmark for how great their campaign is, tells me that it is envy/jealousy that is at the root of their animosity towards him.
Looks like Cruz is gonna wear his jeans and cowboy boots all the time he’s in Texas, not a good look for him. Of course, no look’s a good look for him, there’s that. Ugh.
W’s old Attorney General, Alberto Gonzales, is all over the place these days - now, he’s endorsing Kasich. WHY did they all have to come out of hiding? Did they learn nothing from Jeb’s failures to attract voters? Do they not know reminding everybody of W and Dick is a negative?
If you haven’t listened to the extraordinary conversation our VP had last Saturday at UCSF, I really urge you to do so. Two things stuck out for me: How very deeply VP have delved into this subject and how much he’s learned. And incredibly excited these doctors are to have this administration’s support and how deeply appreciative they are of VP Biden.
The audio of the conversation is at the bottom of this piece:
At one point in the discussion, VP chokes up and falls silent for several moments. He is doing such a great job but as he’s said in the past, there are times when he can’t always hold it together.
In emotional moment, VP Biden thanks UCSF neurosurgeon Mitchel Berger for his help consulting on Beau's treatment. pic.twitter.com/FoSQLaK4Vx

Dr. Berger: “I know it’s personal for you, but rest assured it’s personal for me too.I’m sick and tired of losing patients to this disease."
If he’s really Secret Service, he sucks at his job. Maybe that’s it — they assigned agents on the brink of getting kicked out to security detail for Trump.
I wonder if all the candidates have secret service protection at this point, seems kind of soon. And I wonder too what the context was here- in the video.
Private security companies can have “badges” to make them look authoritative.
Hard to believe that dude is actually Secret Service. If he is, he’s poorly trained.
Here's moments prior. The reporter says "f*ck you" — that's when it got physical pic.twitter.com/h9K2wIbEWQ
Okay, after watching these other videos from this compilation — there’s more context (and more video) —
TIME Reporter Choke-Slammed to the Ground at Trump Rally by Secret Service Officer via @JoePerticone https://t.co/D1IlCKcZBC
— Cassie Williams (@cassielee514) February 29, 2025
It looks like the reporter didn’t like being told to step back. He decided to challenge the agent who was blocking him, wouldn’t move back, got in agent’s face exclaiming “fuck you” (like “I’m not going anywhere”) and agent took him down. That’s kinda what the agent is supposed to do, he just did it rather clumsily.
Notice the video of the reporter outside the video saying he “stepped 18 inches outside the pen and he grabbed me and started choking me and then he slammed me into to the ground.” No mention that the agent told him to get back, blocked him forward movement and he yelled “fuck you” as if he didn’t do anything wrong. LOL!
If true how the audio was portrayed, the mic caught Trump telling Christie to get on the plane and go home. More than once. Whatever he meant, guess Christie isn’t going to go home and sit quietly. As you said, Allison, maybe he’ll be denying his guilt.
Me?
You! Congrats!
And thank you, Chips. This ceremony is so very touching.
A pleasure Jacqueline! I’m only in the door so missed the start.
You may want to go back and look at the start of it later, when you get a chance … dahling!!!
Will do my beloved, thank you!

Congrats 57af!
Job well done, Senior Chief Byers.
What a beautiful ceremony!

I agree that someone cannot step in and do better that was my point. They just think they can. It may be a beginning point for slow change though.
Wonderful comment. Thanks.

Alan Grayson has endorsed BS. We’ll hear all day about the “flood” of congressional endorsements.
Well, this does it for me. I cannot stand Alan Grayson. I am afraid he may beat Patrick Murphy in Florida. If he wants Bernie, I will have to go with Hillary for sure. There is no one in this race I really want to vote for. I have already received my early primary ballot.

The only “flood” that matters in a primary is the flood of votes from people which translates into delegates.
Well, I guess it turns out that Grayson is some kind of hedge fund manager on the side. OF ALL THINGS. Reid lambasted him and basically told him to drop out of the race. So I’d like to hear someone explain to me how this squares with Sanders. Murphy is a good guy!!

Just my observation….
I think you’re spot on! And it suits Sanders’ MO just fine.
I also think it is the disdain for Hillary. Those who don’t like Hillary are flocking to Sanders. My son is one of those unfortunately.
That is definitely part of it.
Yes, just look at the scum he attracts…
I’ll just call them a motley crew. I can appreciate people who are counter-culture and do their own thing, but this collection just feels like its all about anti-government AGRO.
I guess that should be: AGGRO. LOLz.
Agreed. I’ve thought that from the jump, and the Cornel West surrogacy is a dead giveaway.
Put broadly, Sanders supporters are angry and think PBO is a failure.
“Sanders supporters are angry and think PBO is a failure.”
Angry yes, but I doubt they think he’s a failure. Rather, I believe they’re mad that he’s quite the success they’d hoped he would never be. Here, this fills out the story:
Wow!
From Benen:
New CNN poll
1. Donald Trump: 49% (up from 41% in CNN’s poll in January)
2. Marco Rubio: 16% (up from 8%)
3. Ted Cruz: 15% (down from 19%)
4. Ben Carson: 10% (up from 6%)
5. John Kasich: 6% (up from 1%)
Note, this poll was conducted from Wednesday to Saturday, so it includes the days following last week’s debate, which was held on Thursday.
Thanks. Anxious to see if the numbers move after their shenanigans this past weekend, including Trump’s KKK “endorsement.”
yup, the only way to beat the kkklowns. rest is all just noise.
Hell, if we could just folks who are already registered to get up and vote, we’d be in great shape.
Looks like Cruz is gonna wear his jeans and cowboy boots all the time he’s in Texas, not a good look for him. Of course, no look’s a good look for him, there’s that. Ugh.

Talk about the kiss of death !!
There you go! Exactly!
Cannot wait for his return - and sounds as though he can’t wait, either! Safe travels, Commander Kelly!
I’m excited to see him come home.Although, I can’t imagine there’s anyone on earth or in space more excited than he is.
According to the schedule, it turns out SLOTUS be in Houston to welcome him back Wednesday evening! Pretty cool!
So happy to hear that!
What an awesome mission and tremendous sacrifice.
I bet at some point POTUS has him to the WH, science NASA nerd that he is!!
Wow - Huge crowd lining up on the streets of Boston outside the venue, to see Hillary. (On a side note, I love that city!)
It certainly is beautiful in springtime!
And even at Christmastime! If you’re not the one driving, of course.
Well I’ll just skip the next few blizzards and take your word for it. 😁
I missed the ceremony but just watched it on video. OMG, what an emotional event. Definitely a MUST see.
Wonder if any of the Navy Seals from the OBL mission have received the MOH?
I am so very proud of our VP. The way he was received at the Oscars last night just filled me with tremendous gratitude.

Somebody finally found his ON button. Or maybe it was the Reboot button.
where was this, what was going on Allison?
okay, saw it was a Trump rally.
I’m not sure if it was a Secret Service agent. It could have been Trump’s security person.
He has a badge and an earpiece. The lapel pin looks different but maybe they have new ones?
The badge is on his belt.
If he’s really Secret Service, he sucks at his job. Maybe that’s it — they assigned agents on the brink of getting kicked out to security detail for Trump.
I take that back. Look at the tweet/article below from Cassie Williams below. More video, more context.
