This is perfect, AMK. Marco has no where to go from here and his Senate career is over. Wonder if he’ll become a used car salesman in Florida.

    GM, TOD ohana
As for last night’s apparent mess in Michigan: look at the over all delegate count and remember, it’s not over until it is over and that everything is always harder with Democrats. As for me, while I am concerned and will continue to do my part, I am happy not to have the extreme emotions that I had during PBO’s runs; the highs, lows, fears, and so much desire, so much investment for so many reasons was exhausting and it took over much of my life. I am actually fine with approaching this year’s election with the mostly intellectual approach that has been much better for my health.
As for my tech issues, the computer is fine (still mostly using the older one until I am up to speed on the bells and whistles of the new one), but the saga of the wireless printer still continues after 5 different failed solutions given by 5 different return/exhange HP representatives. However, it is a beautiful morning, my family is well, including my 86 year-old mother, and as an A-A woman who has lived in the South all of her life, we roll with the punches, survive, and often thrive no matter who is in the White House because that is not where we place our hope, faith, and dreams.

For those who are feeling distressed about Hillary’s loss in MI last night, please check out Spandan’s post on ‘The People’s View.” In 2008 Barack Obama lost the Pennsylvania state primary by ten points and went on to win the state in the general by ten points. When Hillary does win the nomination she will be a sharper and better candidate because of all these highs and lows. And all of us will learn that we can never be complacent but have to put our backs to it every day to ensure a victory in November. The Bernie supporters will be insufferable this week, but we’re all going to have to deal with it. http://www.thepeoplesview.net/

You’re right. But I can’t suffer the tweets coming from Nina Turner and her “Bbros”. I should watch movies until the next sure primaries.

NCLB, I’ve muted a lot of people on twitter because I don’t need or want to be bombarded with that stuff. Spring is on its way, so the best thing to do is enjoy what signs we can find that new life is on its way. It’s a long, long way to November and we’ve got to lift each other up on the journey.

          March 9, 2025 at 9:16 am

What is the difference between muting or blocking someone?

          • 32 arapaho415
            March 9, 2025 at 9:36 am

            GM Betsy.

Muting means you no longer see their tweets in your timeline, and that person is unaware they are on mute because they can see your tweets and respond to you — they have no idea you can’t see their tweet.

Think that you can still exchange DMs with them, so if it’s a family member or someone you do want to contact via Twitter, think you still can (not sure, don’t use either mute or DMs on Twitter).

If someone you’ve blocked tries to send you a message via @ (e.g., @bbkenn92) they’ll get a message saying you’ve blocked them.

Muting and DMs are too confusing for me, I like to keep things as simple as possible because I forget enough things as it is, LOL.

Yes, I am staying off twitter and Facebook for at least a week. Maybe until after the 15th. I am a lot calmer than I was yesterday, now that I’ve been reminded of the big picture (Thank you, TOD friends!). Now the biggest issue is staying away from insufferable Sanders people.

We should never believe any of these polls. Neither should HRC and her camp. That’s how MI was supposed to be in the bag for her…

    • 48 hopefruit2
      March 9, 2025 at 8:19 am

Keep in mind that Michigan has an open primary, and it’s very plausible that there were lots of last-minute shenanigans in the Sanders camp by Ron-Paul Libertarians posing as “Independents.” Among actual Democrats in MI, HRC beat Sanders by double digits.

Both Ohio and Florida are CLOSED primaries, so we should see less infiltration by so-called “Independents” in those races.

I have been thinking for a long time that the Sanders campaign is so much like the Ron Paul campaign. They did lots of shenanigans too in 2012 to rack up primary wins and were bullies as well. Entrism is their thing. There are a couple (I won’t mention who since I could be wrong) posters that concern troll this site and also TPV. I think that is also one of the entrism ploys. Mess with people’s minds. By the way I am not a conspiracy person. Just know a few Paulbots personally and they do it again and again. Fake an opinion, fake an interest, and they really feel like they are fooling people. If you call them out at all even graciously they become instant bullies.

        March 9, 2025 at 8:52 am

The Michigan Paulbots are famous. Upper pennisula is full of them but I am sure they are spread out. That explains Snyder. He is an extreme, what I call Bircher. If you want to live in Somalia lite, elect a libertarian/Bircher like the Kochs.

        • 52 Obama Grandmama
          March 9, 2025 at 6:44 pm

One of my brothers was a Ron Paul supporter and believes in the Birchers. I talked him into voting for Obama twice. He hates corporate America and the Clintons saying they are warmongers, corporatists and believes all of the conspiracy theories about them. Woah is me! He plans to vote for Bernie in the Primary. I bet he would vote for The Donald over Hillary in the General. I know when I pick up my Primary Ballot the weekend before my surgery and vote while I am in skilled nursing (Oregon has mail-in ballots) I will not give it to him to mail in for me. He hates that I am voting for Hillary.
She has had so many years of negativity directed at her that she has many people that just will not vote for her as they believe everything they have heard without investigating it. Sometimes I think Donald might be a gift to her as an opponent as he may match or exceed her in negativity. However, I snap back to reality not wanting to chance that he might win. Another reality is the entire GOP field would destroy Obama’s progress and do harm to our Country in our standing in the world as well as for the well being of our own citizens.

My Tea Party brother used to b,e in my mind, just a run of the mill Republican. When I realized to my utter dismay that he was glued to Fox News and was really a racist at heart I felt like crying. My sister in law turned out to have the same affliction. One day my sister in law told me Obama was a liar. I asked her to tell me something that he lied about and she just repeated more emphatically that he was a liar. After seeing ODS on the left and the right, I have much more mental push back to the demonization of Hillary Clinton. I think the first female president will have the same but of course different prejudice against her. What I cannot forgive Sanders for is, instead of focusing on how their policy positions are different, he is using years of vilification against Hillary as his weapon of choice. Sanders is not, to my mind, a decent human being.

So the Obama coalition are the opposite of nuts. They are the opposite of bullies, They are used to being constant, keeping their eye on the prize despite enormous opposition, they are the opposite of dumb, they are the opposite of exclusive, they are talented, across all ages and constituencies and really really like one another. I contend that there are two fronts facing us this election. One is the Berniebro/Paulbot disappointeds and their accolytes. The other is the cronysim and influence peddling, the lack of fortitude and the change incapability of some in the Democratic party. Well along comes the President and everyone that understands what he’s about and wants to help him and that’s the Obama coalition. If the election will be won in part by the efforts of that coalition we also, in a gracious and truly positive effort, go a long way to securing the progress we’ve made and forging ahead into the next administration with our respect, empower, include paradigm intact. In other words we make our mark and hopefully win minds and hearts to adopt to the best practices of the Obama administration.

The GOP comparing Rubio to PBO is exactly the same as when they compared Palin to Sec Clinton. It is mind boggling that they thought Rubio had anything other than age vaguely similar to the President & GOP policy makers seem to think one woman is exactly the same as another - “they all look alike, so must think/act alike”. I worried about the strength of the dem candidates until I saw what the GOP had on offer.

      • 122 57andfemale
        March 9, 2025 at 9:49 am

Here’s my fear, Jackie: Trump is a con man, and in the GE will say things that will put GOP minds at ease. And even worse, he’ll say some lefty stuff and get some of our low information idiots. As he said, he could shoot someone in Times Square and his supporters would still follow him, so with a wink and a nod he’d siphon some of our votes.

Cruz is a zealot. He is a true believer and will not moderate his position on anything. He may actually be easier to beat.

        • 123 Obama Grandmama
          March 9, 2025 at 6:56 pm

The con aspect bothers me too, especially when you hear his supporters say they do not believe what he says but know he will help them cuz he is spending his own money and he is a successful businessman which in itself is another con.
Did anyone notice Ari Melber’s post of Trumps 2015 taxes? It estimated he made $500,000 and paid no taxes due to subtracting depreciation on rentals. I suppose that would prove he is smart to his supporters as they applaud people not paying taxes like they are heroes, not like that means others are paying their share to run the country too.

  25. 124 99ts
    March 9, 2025 at 9:00 am

It’s interesting that stooping to the level of Trump seems to get a good response from the media - but not the voters

Christie went out after attacking Rubio on his canned speech
Rubio out (well except he won’t leave) after attacking Trump about size

Why is it OK for Trump to be loud & rude - but no-one else????

Also note that suddenly the media is turning against Trump - funny about that - seems they are only now realising what they have created.
