Danny is tremendous, 57 - although extra rascal-y today. Even after a two hour walk/run with his girlfriend he’s still up to divilment, every cushion in the house ending up in the garden
Not too bad. We panicked the other night when we couldn’t find Pearl. We looked everywhere, outside, all over the house. Mr. 57 has no cartillage in his knees and I had hurt my knee over the weekend. But there we were, crawling on our hands and knees looking under furniture, behind desks. Calling for her in panic. We were a wreck. Then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a little movement (she’s only 8 pounds and blends into the carpet and the doggie beds). She’d been moving from place to place, after we looked in a particular place. She thought it was great fun, the little so-and-so.
 Now, there’s a rascal! I know the panic you feel, himself set off chasing a rabbit through the fields the other evening (as if he’d ever catch one) and I lost sight of him. Completely freaked for a few minutes when there was no sign of him coming back, was terrified he’d head up towards the road. So when he appeared over the hill, without a rabbit in his mouth, I was a decidedly happy bunny!
Your Great Hunter. I don’t know how long we were looking for Pearl. I’m sure it was hours (at least it felt that way). Kasper & Nickelby were likewise amused at our angst.
I used to put a bell on Rufus’ collar because that dog could get into so much trouble. He became adept at knocking over the garbage can in the kitchen, without ringing the damned thing! God I miss that dog. Did I ever tell you my story of meeting Mr. 57 and Rufus?
Reposting, because I thought this was an excellent phrase and idea:
Been meaning to share this: there’s a candidate for a congressional district in IL running radio ads. He said this:
“I am in favor of testing the feasibility of single payer by lowering the age for Medicare, incrementally.”
“Test the feasibility” sounds like the sanest phrase I’ve heard on this issue. I heard him interviewed, and he wants to keep ACA, tweak it as it needs to be tweaked.
The emoprogs who say we could have gotten single payer or a public option and we didn’t “set our goals higher”, are insane. We almost had dropping the Medicare age in the bill, and it was our own DINO’s who axed it, led by the odious Joe Lieberman whose idea it was in the first place.
PBO aimed EXTREMELY high by putting his political capital behind health care for all Americans. THAT was the heavy lift, the vision, the risk. I’m done with the whiners who dismiss that.
President Obama has applied a brilliant intellect to the long perspective of history and has formulated a very wise doctrine for the modern age. This kind of thoughtful analysis is beyond the capability of any of the Republican candidates. They simply cannot believe in anything but going backwards-the farther the better.
Pope Francis has brought in new regulations for the Vatican’s process of making saints after allegations of abuses in the system.
Two recent books claimed officials get huge payments for investigating candidates for sainthood, with little control over how they spend the money.
The new rules mean external oversight of the bank accounts concerned.
Pope Francis has made reform of the Vatican a priority of his papacy, including perceived corruption.
The new rules set out the mechanism by which each cause pays for the services of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, the Vatican office responsible for reviewing candidates for sainthood.
I felt that POTUS jumped in with his response right away to deflect any heat away from his guest, and in so doing, he also set a more civil and detached tone for any subsequent discussion of the topic. A classy move! :)
Guys, if you’re not listening to/watching this press conference. You will REALLY want to catch the video later. Our POTUS is laying it down big time in his response to a question about the polarity of politics in the country and the claim that he’s responsible for the rise of someone like Trump as the potential Republican nominee. I just love My President!
His response to that dumbass question was simply BRILLIANT! You really must check out the video of that when it’s avaiable.
Wish I knew how to grab a clip.
Tomorrow my employer’s art center( https://twitter.com/THEARC_DC) will be hosting the 107th Birthday Party for Ms. Virginia McLaurin. She is the woman who danced with joy at the White House when she meet POTUS and FLOTUS. Everyone that is anyone will be in attendance. TMZ, The Today show and all of the local stations will be here to help her celebrate her 107th Birthday. God Bless Her!
Unfortunately I loss another one of my Aunts to breast cancer last week and will be attending her funeral tomorrow but will be there in spirit for Ms. McLaurin.
The drug abuse bill just passed the Senate 94-1. Don’t know who the one no vote was yet.
During the voting I saw Senator Grassley really dressing down Tom Cotton on the floor. He seemed to really be letting him have it for something.
He then walked away and Cotton went after him. When it ended, Cotton was heading for the door and was ambushed by Sen. Jeff Sessions to find out what just happened. Cotton was whispering to Sessions.
Moi?
Toi! Morning 57!!
How are you, girlfriend? How’s our Danny?

And I betcha you got him the cutie cuddly - you big softie!!!!!
the blighter has an elephant, a bear, a duck and his own dog and yet he wants mine from my teevee deck.
He has to be related to Danny. He has a cuddly version of every animal on earth, but only wants my cushions.
just be glad you didn’t get one of these critters.
Boys will be boys……
Egg sackly! How are your fellas doing?

American press people ask the stupidest loaded questions, none of which are germane to the big reasons this visit from PM Trudeau is happening.
Looks like CSPAN3 will begin coverage of the State Dinner this evening at 6:15PM ET.
No time for their crazy RW theories!
meta….Amen to that.
