His life has changed astronomically because of PBO accepted and embraced his connection to him. Our dear president has changed lives all over the world, in big and small ways, that will continue to have positive effects for many years to come. Sometimes I just get so full when I think of all the incredible ways in which we have been blessed to have BO and MO serve. I, like so many, have lifted them, the rest of their family, and all who work with them with fidelity and skill, up in my prayers since 2007. God has richly blessed us with the service of this uncommon man. History ha taught us and we have witnessed the truth of the saying that the people rise or fall because of their leaders. We are currently on the upside of Fortune’s Wheel and I pray that we will be able to stay there for a good while longer after the Obamas leave us for private life.
So very well said. I am one of those people of faith that lifts this first family in the Light of love. I sometimes have thought that people all over the place are doing the same thing and its like a blanket of gratitude, kindness and grace surrounding them as they do so much for all of us.
““Gov. Snyder, plausible deniability only works when it’s plausible, and I’m not buying that you didn’t know any of this till October 2015. You were not in a medically induced coma for a year. I’ve had about enough of your false contrition and your phony apologies … Pretty soon we will have men who strike their wives saying, ‘I’m sorry dear, but there were failures on all levels.’”

I think I’m going to find out what district Rep. Cummingham represents and move there so I can vote for him.
The “revolution” talk has escalated from BS himself. This is certainly the mindset he encourages. I hear it from his supporters all the time. His views have remained rigid for 50 years. He has no interest or respect for governance.
Thanks, 57. I hope Hillary’s campaign runs ads saying that Sanders’ avowed purpose is to “gut the Democratic Party as it is.” Every Democrat needs to know this, especially the delegates and voters in the remaining primary states. Interesting that the Sanders people are moving toward the destruction of the Dems at a time when our country is facing great peril from the extreme right and we have to work together. This is sick and dangerous.
She needs someone to get this message out. He is not done. She has done very well with a positive campaign, because she is perceived so “unfavorably”, and the message is getting through. But he is attacking her as a person, all the time. I don’t want to wait until it has an effect. Her campaign has to find a way to counter it, and do some framing of BS as well. Outside groups, like Blue Nation Review, are doing some good framing but I wonder if their reach is far enough.
Sanders stated on national TV, that he only became a Dem for media and money. He is not a Dem. He’s already filed to run for Senator in 2018 as an Indie. I have a serious problem giving our nomination to someone who has such disdain for the Democratic organization. Is it messed up in a lot of ways? Of course. Would I like to improve it? You bet I would. But you need a governmental engine to get anything done, and Bernie has no use for the process. He would be a disaster as POTUS.
This is a self-hate that is almost impossible to understand, how far away must this brother run to get away from himself. Whatever feelings or emotions I had for Dr. Ben Carson have been replaced with pity. This brother is a brain surgeon, which means that he’s qualified to open up a person’s skull and operate on them. Clearly Dr. Carson is highly intelligent, so now we must ask ourselves what is going on with this brother? What has happened to Dr. Carson that made him accept being called a ‘child molester?’ I truly worry about some of our brothers, but sadly some of our struggles are self-inflicted.
Your response to him is much more kind than mine. In my view he is like others of his ilk who collaborated with vile people for his own gain and lost much, especially self-respect, when he was turned on by his masters. I have no pity for him. Let him serve as an allegory so that others do not fall into the pit that he happily walked into.
You are probably right, CEB, he walked into his situation with his eyes wide open. But to allow someone to label you a “predator” and not do anything about but to say that it was a good “tactic” speaks volumes about Dr. Carson’s mindset. Maybe I’m giving Carson the pity he doesn’t deserve. It has to be something deeper going on with this brother. Or maybe he’s just one of many self-hating blacks that will do anything to disassociate themselves from their community.
Don, as I mentioned on an earlier thread, I think Carson has been giving signs for some time now that something is wrong with him. He’s incoherent, forgetful and simply doesn’t reflect the consciousness of someone who has his full faculties. It’s too bad that family and friends can’t intervene and give him help, If he’s not ill, then I fully agree with CEB that there’s some self-loathing going on or worse, that he’s in it for the money.
There is no amount of money in the world that I can be given that would make me think its alright for someone to call me a predator. I’m going to stick with the self-loathing.
“Or maybe he’s just one of many self-hating blacks that will do anything to disassociate themselves from their community” sums up what is probably going on with him that allows him to act as he does. The deeper question is why is that self-hatred there and whether or not he is even aware of it on some level. Your sympathetic view of him is making me think a bit deeper about what may be at the heart of his actions, and I think of how PBO would want us to think of him, but it is hard for me when I have such disdain for people like him and I have no forgiveness in my heart for how he has acted toward our president. Anyway, I will consider what you have said.
Black Americans were disproportionately targeted in the “war on drugs.” Now state laws and steep regulatory costs have left them far more likely to be shut out of America’s profitable marijuana boom
Mar. 16, 2016, at 10:01 p.m.
When Colorado’s first medical marijuana dispensaries opened in 2009, Unique Henderson was psyched. He’d been smoking weed since he was 15, and he’d even learned how to grow, from his ex-girlfriend’s father. He spent $750 on classes about how to run a cannabis business, and then he and a friend both applied to work at a Denver pot shop.
Then only his friend was hired. Henderson was more than qualified, so why didn’t he get the gig? His friend asked the managers and came back with infuriating news: Henderson was not allowed to work in the legal cannabis industry because he had been caught twice with a joint’s worth of pot as a teenager back in Oklahoma, and as a result he has two drug possession felonies on his record.
For most jobs, experience will help you get ahead. In the marijuana industry, it’s not that simple. Yes, investors and state governments are eager to hire and license people with expertise in how to cultivate, cure, trim, and process cannabis. But it can’t be someone who got caught. Which for the most part means it can’t be someone who is black.
They will talk and talk, pass blame, fill up reams of paper and little or nothing will be done for the sufferings of the Flint community and others like it. Too many people in power think that poor people are expendable, or that they can somehow wait long periods of time for basic needs to be filled; there is no sense of urgency. These hearings will be a political football for months to come while the people suffer. Teachers will be saying: Why can’t these children learn? These children have such low test scores, etc. without knowing the root of the problem. They were poisoned and they and their families will be made to pay in every sense of the word, for the criminal behavior of hateful overlords.
Our teacher union (Michigan Education Association) is sponsoring a drive for school supplies from the other Michigan school districts. Now Flint has bottled water galore, but before the issue became nationally known, families were under great financial stress trying to buy enough water for their families.

On another note: I really wish that I could see the video of Chris Jackson (who plays Washington) singing “One Last Time” for PBO and MO when the cast came to the White House. According to Lin-Manuel’s tweet, Chris sang it with tears rolling down his cheeks. When you read the lyrics of the song, you will see that many of them could apply to PBO. Lin’s masterpiece is as much about the present as it is about the past and well deserves all of the accolades that it has received, with more to come.
Liar. It could have been stopped sooner if HE had done something. This is his idea of taking responsibility: blame everyone and every thing except himself.

One of the things that really disgusts me beyond the immediate situation, is that it will take a long time to repair the damage he has already done already. The other is that I can see people will be analyzing him and his movement and writing books and scholarly articles about it for a long time. He’s achieved a kind of historical immortality that is more than he could ever have hoped for. This stupid, cheesy, little man.
Gotta run, see ya all later!
Have a great day, Chipsadoodle! :-D

Good Morning Vee!

Beautifully said, CEB! I couldn’t agree more!
Lovely, CEB! To the Obamas, family is everything, and they are so very generous in their definition of family. It’s a big and diverse one.
Beautiful…you always seem to say what is in my heart at well….thanks ((huggs))

Looking so good there Henry. Thanks for gracing the White House with Messrs Flatley and Hayes.
I think someone will plead the fifth today, I don’t know who, but someone knows something.
Hope they nail that bastard Snyder who hijacked democracy and put his own stooges as city managers.

Who is Corey Robin? Just wondering…
Send it to Hillary…
From the campaign, I’m almost positive.
