I gather ManU won today - you don’t like loooooosers - sounds like someone else who shall remain nameless.
Also - so many thanks for the coverage - only place I have found that follows PBO around the world. (So after such nice words you cannot drop me from your Christmas list)
Students and scholars will be studying the Obama presidency for generations to come in much the same manner in which the presidencies of Washington, Lincoln, and FDR are researched, written about, taught, and referenced. So thankful to God that I have been able to see it in real time (though there is much behind-the-scenes information that we have yet to be privy to) and to share so much of it through the good offices of the international TOD family. all of you have educated me so much that I have become the family go to person on all things political and all things PBO.
Not quite sure why my written voice is so archaic today; must be the muses of History and Language are inspiring me on this incredible day. I am still having chills.
Guess I was premature in my excitement. They’re not showing much. Looks like they’re having trouble with the feed. Only 279 people watching, but it keeps going in and out. I do like the music they’re playing when it’s not refreshing. I think I give up. Will look for another source.
CNNI just showed the family on their tour. Great shot flew by of Malia under an umbrella turning to look back over her shoulder and smile at the cameras. I sure hope that one gets posted.
The credit on that photo tweeted out by patrickoyulu should actually be REUTERS/Stringer
Found this caption for the photo in a news article at the link below:
“Air Force One carrying U.S. President Barack Obama and his family flies over a neighborhood of Havana as it approaches the runway to land at Havana’s international airport, March 20, 2016. REUTERS/Stringer”
Surprised at the positive and knowledgeable coverage by CNN Live so far. Author Peter Kornbach is good; I do not know this tall blond woman (has an accent) who is commenting and interviewing.
Are you checking out the live comments on the right? I don’t speak much Spanish, but my Italian skills are helping to understand a bit of the comments.
The day that elimination of the embargo and on the other hand, the rights of Cuban citizens are restored, it will be one even greater celebration, but it is a start, a great start.
Ha ha, there are a couple trolls on there of course. Some guy asks another guy doesn’t he blame PBO for all the civilian deaths in the ME and Ronaldo replies, “No, I blame ISIS for all those deaths!”
Conservatives like to demand - PBO asks, inquires, requests, discusses, mediates, and meets his objectives. When dealing with the GOP however he simply requests that they #dotheirjob
I was all in for Obama for President from his announcement in 2007. Actually, I was thinking about it from the moment he finished his speech at the 2004 Dem convention. That night in 2008 when he was elected, I knew he would be a transformational President. But, I had no idea of the amount of profound changes he would actually bring to this country.
I am so grateful to be alive in the time of President Barack Obama and so very glad that I can SEE this presidency.
I am taping all of the evening broadcasts of the big three networks and will check later to see how they covered and presented the visit. Currently I am in danger of whiplash as I look from my laptop to the television to make sure that I do not miss a thing.
Navigating those cobble stone streets can be dangerous even for the younger.. trust me its the same in old town here in Virginia and many cities that I have traveled and lived in Europe. Wet rain or snow or ice - watch out.
4more, I left a comment upthread with the correct photo credit. It should be credited as “Reuters/Stringer”
It was a bit of a dig to find it, but I found a news article with the pic that had a caption with the credit available if you clicked on th pic itself.

There are SO MANY LAYERS TO THIS FANTASTIC PHOTO! WOWZERS!!!!!
WOW
GE Dudette.
Did you see this?
Jim Acosta’s father left Cuba at age 11, only 3 weeks before the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Wonderful story of encountering friends of his father and family unknown to him more than 50 years after his father fled Cuba.
Hey, thanks! I wasn’t aware of this!

raining hard….i hope the baseball game is not rained out tomorrow
And most of them should have stayed at home for all the positive coverage they will provide. I am so done with the US media and their GOP bff
CNNI coverage is back on.
Another promise kept.
He has done his country an amazing service CEB - the written history will have so many lauds and praises

I see some of the bitter Cubans in South Florida are protesting the president’s visit according to a report on CNN; nothing new here.
I see PBO has ditched his tie.
Surprised at the positive and knowledgeable coverage by CNN Live so far. Author Peter Kornbach is good; I do not know this tall blond woman (has an accent) who is commenting and interviewing.
me too
Does anyone have live links for anything that’s happening now. Thank you if you do.
Here you go sherijr
ohhh Chips, I’m late to the party.. but my bags are packed :) Thank you sooooo very much for the link!
Chips, my comment above has the proper credit for that photo of AF1 landing.

It is on CNN Live if you have cable.
No cable.. but Chips left a link, thank you CEB :)
Use the one that Chips gave at the top of the post.
the Cuban poeple let out a roar when they saw the President
I know PF, that gave me chills!
Are you checking out the live comments on the right? I don’t speak much Spanish, but my Italian skills are helping to understand a bit of the comments.

Cbs live feed widget is also showing POTUS in Cuba
Fixed the typo
CNNI showing President’s remarks during visit to the embassy now.
one of the comments from the youtube feed…
The day that elimination of the embargo and on the other hand, the rights of Cuban citizens are restored, it will be one even greater celebration, but it is a start, a great start.
Piensa un segundo, un salario de 400 pesos cojes 50 para conectarte a internet
A LIFETIME CUBA HAS BEEN ATTACHED TO THE UNITED STATES AND ALWAYS IT WILL BE
Nice PF! You are much quicker than I am! :-)
Ha ha, there are a couple trolls on there of course. Some guy asks another guy doesn’t he blame PBO for all the civilian deaths in the ME and Ronaldo replies, “No, I blame ISIS for all those deaths!”

I love this picture of them getting off the plane.
What a contrast in leadership
Great photos; thanks for the link. My favorite is the one that shows Michelle holding her mom’s hand as they step over puddles in the square.
I am taping all of the evening broadcasts of the big three networks and will check later to see how they covered and presented the visit. Currently I am in danger of whiplash as I look from my laptop to the television to make sure that I do not miss a thing.
Why do they have a painting of President Lincoln?
I just tweeted that very question to the news outlet that posted this.
I love that picture too, FLOTUS holding her Mother’s hand.
She is a wonderful daughter, looking out for her Mom.

Muir has exclusive access, interview with POTUS
I actually like Muir. I switched from NBC nightly news to ABC evening news with Muir a long time ago.
Hope he does a good job with PBO. I never watch the news anymore but I plan on watching this.
Ben Rhodes must be feeling so proud to see this day after years of hard work in the back channels under the direction of PBO to get this done.
In_DEED, CEB!!!
#ObamaDoctrine in action ….
#YesWECan
#HOPE4ALL
Thank you for this perfect tweet!
You’re more than welcome, meta!!
The Obama family tour is over, I don’t know how much anyone is enjoying the tour in the rain. Maybe they are.
having trouble finding who shot that amazing photo, but pretty sure it’s not the guy listed above, but he seems to not mind taking credit for it.

I got chills, watching AF1 land in Habana! Thank you, Chips. That photo at top of post is delicious.
<3 <3 <3
Look at graceful Malia gliding over puddles like the most beautiful princess! :-)
Yay! The Cuban Foreign Ministry’s live stream is looping back through the 1 hr 17 minutes of hours of coverage.
New post.
